(or in Hot4s as they claim) - and how are some of the price quotes: paint job $10,000, pod filter $5,000, cams $7,000, Veilside bodykit (yet the pic is of a standard car) $7,000 - WTF????? $60k or $100k buy it now????? Er does he realise you can pick up immaculate R34GTR Nur Specs for under that sort of money? Lol

yeah I'm in as always. And let all comers come for some Buckhunter ownage .... Nightcrawler is the Buckhunter SAU king Even after a few pints lol .... MattyT and Luke (Laaaaaaaaaaaaaag) were pretty close behind me though - Jared put in a fair showing too if I remember correctly. Ich habe eine grosse Wiener Oh and regarding the little fight above (can't we all just bee[b/] friends? * yes that is a Simpsons quote there kids * ), and I am definitely NOT picking on you Chad, but don't you go to Tilbrooks to get your car serviced? Maswon Lakes is a whole 7km from Tilbrooks. Just saying, that's all .... but I do agree yes it would suck coming all the way from down south (or Mannum for that matter Ted), but as Flick pointed out parking in the city SUCKS ASS on a Friday/Saturday night - not to mention it is very hard (if not impossible) to get a table big enough at the Coopers Alehouse of the Earl of Leicester on a Fri/Sat night. I will edit your original post and put in the firm date Flick.

Damo's thread deleted. There will be no more talking about (or alluding to), and certainly no glorification of any *ahem* not-so-legal driving activities kids .... cut it out.

Hi mate, I offer $200 Do you know where the Enter key is? Is the key mount damaged or just the key missing. Since it has no power cable I am unable to verify anything - especially what battery life the current battery has. Any history of problems whatsoever? Have cash, am in Northgate, can pick up asap. Cheers, Andrew

yep I am looking for double din touch screen too. I currently have a $300 Eonon one off Ebay that blew up after about a year (very heavy use in that time though). Problem is that these cheap Chinese ones tend to have clunky menus, and controls. Also the radio station and TV receivers tend to have very poor amps built-in - so radio and TV reception is fairly crap. But a touch screen one with a decent GUI and decent AMP would be awesome. Oh, and a tip for new guys - don't bother trying to get in-car TV to work - it just plain sucks unless you are next to a broadcasting tower. Of course we are looking to pay $400ish for such a thing.

I absolutely LOVE tax this analogy: You've heard the cry: "It's just a tax cut for the rich!" But what does that really mean? The following explanation may help... Suppose that every day, 10 men go out for dinner. The bill for all 10 comes to $100. They decide to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, and it goes like this: * The first four men (the poorest) pay nothing * The fifth pays $1 * The sixth $3 * The seventh $7 * The eighth $12 * The ninth $18 * The tenth man (the richest) pays $59 All ten were quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner said: "Since you are all such good customers, I'm going to reduce the total cost of your daily meal by $20." So now dinner for the 10 only cost $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. The first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But how should the other six, the paying customers, divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his "fair share"? They realised that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth and sixth men would each end up being paid to eat. The restaurateur suggested reducing each man's bill by percentages, thus: * The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving) * The sixth paid $2 instead of $3 (33% saving) * The seventh paid $5 instead of $7 (28% saving) * The eighth paid $9 instead of $12 (25% saving) * The ninth paid $15 instead of $18 (17% saving) * The tenth paid $49 instead of $59 (17% saving) Each of the six was better off, and the first four continued to eat for free, but outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man "but he got $10!" "That's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than me!" "That's true!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks! "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up for dinner. The nine sat down and ate without him, but when they came to pay the bill, they discovered that they didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of it. That, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore. There are lots of good restaurants in Monaco and the Caribbean!! I get very pissed off around January, as I know that every dollar I earn until the end of June I am giving almost half to the government. I understand there needs to be taxes, but I work 60-70 hours per week and earn every cent I get paid. Tax hurts

Saw a familiar looking Caldina today on Prospect Rd in front of Cibo. I looked around for you, but couldn't find you anywhere.

zomg whoever told her that it is TERRIBLE advice. Convince her to get an epidural - she and you won't regret it. My wife gave birth 8 months ago and was in so much pain even WITH an epidural, that she had to have gas. The beauty is, with female hormones, she had completely forgotten the pain 1 day later. However, Carolyn actually started crowning just as the epidural top-up was due (hence the plain relief was running out) yet they couldn't administer it as she was too close to the end. Despite that, once he was out, the doctor stitched her up WITHOUT ANY PAIN RELIEF whatsoever - at that point the hormones/pheromones kicked in and she was gold. However her stitches down there were an entirely different story for the next month And yes I can't agree more Rubz - a few hours of medicated pain in birth is nothing compared with 3 weeks of agonizing shoulder pain - or even worse knee pain like Tangles. And yes, unqualified people should just STFU no matter what. How can Amber think she knows anything about the pain of childbirth if she has never experienced it herself.

I looked at buying a 350Z or a RX8 when they first came out - loved both - except for the complete lack of power. I just can't get over a car that looks and feels so good, but has crap all power with little room for modifying (short of strapping a twin turbo kit to one - and then you are for more $$$ total than an R34GTR). I would be bored sh!tless driving around all day with no turb RB power.

Morpowa or Tilbrooks are your best bet - just be sure if you get them to work on your car, you get a FIXED quote and make explicitly sure if they come across any further work that needs doing, they check with you and quote before doing it. Both good workshops, but I have been burnt by both in the past. Almost everyone on here will tell you go to BoostWorx at Panorama - yes it is a little way, but well worth the trip. I am taking my car there shortly for a motor rebuild/freshen up.

best bet is go see your local imports friendly workshop mate - they could give you all the answers in a second

^^^^ yeah mate I deleted your thread (you should have gotten an email explaining why) .... anyhow 1) you can't advertise businesses on SAU unless you are a sponsor, and 2) it is pretty bad form to join up and a week later start advertising your business. This is a car forum. Imagine if every man and his dog just made a new post advertising their business or services - it would become an advertising forum rather than Skyline forum. I will let your post above stand, as the rules are a bit relaxed in this thread, and you are local. But you find that pretty much all of us do our own systems and buy parts ourselves online or from MSY.

yeah no worries mate - if Tyler hadn't been sleeping in the back I would have wound down the window and said hi - but I didn't want to wake him. That didn't last long though when you took off anyhow - it's all good - sounded sweet as! You got a bit of rear wheel spin as she came on boost too - very nice.

Some very interesting insights in this thread and I agree with the vast majority of them. The saddest thing is, as Pete said, that we are just at the beginning of a very shit 5 or so years to come, and we haven't seen anything yet. Slipping property values (Western Sydney has fallen around 25% so far THIS YEAR), rising interest rates (sorry kids, despite what they have been saying in the media, interest rates will hold or even rise for around the next 4-5 years - the current fixed 5 year ANZ rate is 9.15% which strongly indicates they don't believe it will go down), rising unemployment (due to poor Labor fiscal/policy management), strikes (0 strikes in 12 years then how many since Labor came into power - 10 or so already?), continued easy credit and general poor consumer confidence with be prevalent, and will have far reaching consequences.

Don't get me started on bs Labor governments and the tools that voted them in .... how are your lower grocery and petrol prices that Rudd promised pre-election going? I couldn't count the number of morons telling me how much they were looking forward to cheaper petrol and groceries once they voted Rudd in .... ZOMG Good news at least is that their opinion polls have plummeted, and if a Federal election were held today the Libs would get back in with a landslide. I think people realise that most of the Labor polices were just copying Liberal policies, and that Rudd is way too busy getting his mane in the papers about saying Sorry (which the rest of Australia aren't), and protesting about whaling and nuclear programs. How about paying attention to what is happening IN Australia? Regarding your comments Dohmar I agree they did fudge figures a bit, but fact is we have been in the strongest EVER growth in economy and all things related for nearly 10 years now. It is currently so easy to get a job that anyone without a job is just a lazy sob and won't put in the effort to study/apprentice/be trained, or there are other extenuating circmstances. Anyhoo, my real point is that this dickhead Rudd, who in today's paper and recent media has been saying we basically have to suck it up when it comes to imminent massive rises in the cost of food, goods and fuel in order to fulfil his slightly crazy carbon trading scheme (the Libs had been looking into it, but analysed it to be commercial suicide for Australia, so never implemented it), yet he has slashed the government subsidy on solar panels for homes to generate their own electricity (and instead continue relying on grid power, which is fossil-fuel made). Insane Mr. Rudd. The week the new govt announced the retraction of subsidies for people installing solar panels on their homes, the solar shops had more than 50% of the current orders cancelled and have had a subsequent 70% fall in sales. Surely if Labor were THAT interested in the environment and future sustainability, they would massively be encouraging people to set up solar arrays - instead of wiping out the whole market.

wow glad to hear you sold it so quick, but a damn shame to see her go Flick. Hope the NX treats you well .... before I fell in love with Skylines I wanted one .... many, many moons ago
