  1. All it means is you r ram is running dual channel ie. your laptop has 2 identical ram chips running in serial or dual channel mode. Chances are your laptop only has 2 ram slots and both are already full. I don't know where his overclocking comment comes from - your laptop is not being overclocked. FYI when you overclock a PC you make it faster. So by upping the fsb,the clock speed rises, and your pc goes faster. Like I am running my X2 4200+ system (which clocks at 2.2Ghz) at 3Ghz, which effectively makes my PC a X2 5800+ .... healthy speed increase for no $$$. Downside is the harder you clock a CPU and ram, the hotter they get, and it supposedly shortens their life expectancy. If you want to know more Wikipedia or Google are your friends. You will find literally thousands of articles and websites dedicated to this.
  2. black32 - I have always run DVD/CDRoms and Burners on the same ide ribbon and don't notice any speed issues - I have always done it this way. The read/write speed of the drives themselves is by far the limiting factor.
  3. I have Vista running an a SATA drive no problems. I would definitely not run your DVD burner on a primary IDE port - put the Burner as Secondary master, and the DVDROM Secondary slave.
  4. forget about upgrading your laptop, period. They are notoriously temperamental, and you will require specific model and spec ram chips from the supplier that built the laptop - and these are normally 200% - 300% the price of generic PC ram.
  5. ok, so I after posting the question I spat the dummy, and went and jacked my car up to check. It appears that the trans fluid travels through the radiator, then the external oil cooler, in series. So my question becomes, since I have a large Davies Craig trans cooler that I was going to fit anyhow, is it ok to remove the radiator out of the series and just patch in the new oil cooler?
  6. Hi, has anyone with an auto R34GTT replaced their radiator? I bought a new radiator (didn't sepcify for an auto) from JustJap and assumed it would fit since the R34GTT has an external trans cooler, but there are 2 pipes that come out the bottom of my stock radiator, yet only provision to plug 1 of those into the new radiator. Has anyone had theirs out and tell me what the pipes are for and whether they are really needed? Thanks
  7. yeah that thing is wicked .... lost it every single time around the hairpin and each time powerslid out of it .... classic!
  8. Robbie Bulger and co. have been doing a little bit of drift and a lot of doughnuts/burnouts in the CAPA utes for some years now - definitely a highlight of the weekend - and it makes our pit entry gold seats worth every penny
  9. the UK Green Party are a bunch of uneducated freaks .... what DRM has to do with anything whatsoever is beyond me .... and the claim of people dumping old monitors - this has nothing whatsoever to do with Vista lol
  10. I have had RC2 running dual boot on my home PC and it works perfectly. Have just installed Home Premium on a new clients machine (X2 3800) and it runs a dream - only took around 20 minutes to install too! I would do scans on your ram to see if that is the cause. Quite often is with MS installs.
  11. yep we will be there as always in the Gold seats off the end of the hairpin. I will check the program closer to the date and make a meet spot near the bikini parade again, during the bikini parade
  12. mmm tempting to make the trek up to Darwin this year ..... buggered if I want to drive though - might have to fly and meet you guys up there
  13. I am always keen to be a passenger if it involves fishing
  14. sorry didn't see you Luke - I often drive around in a dream world - plus I was probably looking for a house number in my search for comparable sales for work
  15. sounds like it would be Sambo33's car .... were the wheels Work Meisters?
  16. Technically you can spike and blow up your ECU, but as someone said it is more of an issue if you are a twit (not looking at anyone on here Vange) and short the battery by hooking the leads up wrong. Best bet is to not put the negative on the battery terminal, but rather connect it to a ground point on your engine. For some reason this is less risky to your ECU (told to me by an RAA guy).
  17. very keen .... get Steve Cramp (owner of Manta) to host it - he is a V8 Konica Supercar owner/driver
  18. That would also certainly be Trevor's wife (ex-FBImports)
  19. yeah .... has anyone got a time machine? Don't tell me they gave you your licence back
  20. I had an 040 in my S15 and it was noisy as a mofo - so much so I had it removed and put in a Walbro instead .... the 044 is even louder - a constant buzz - especially when the weather is warm, hence the fuel pump works harder for some reason. I am fitting a Walbro 255lph and Malpassi fuel regulator in the next month or so - I have had them sitting in my garage for months ....
  21. I forgot to buy my ticket then it was all too late
  22. JustinP and WPN33R - it is piss easy to paint the window or you could put a big sticker over it!
