Iron Chef is the man to use.

But an ADM G37/Q60 is more like $25k, if you can find one. Still, well worth the extra money IMHO for the working/English stereo and navi, cheaper insurance, cruise control, dual seat memory, self-cleaning/levelling headlights, and various other nice touches that the ADM G37/Q60 has.

It has Akebono brakes, so highly likely it is a Japanese 370GT. Are the buttons on the centre console/under the screen in Japanese? I bet they are. If so, it is a Jap import Skyline, not an Infiniti. But people love chucking the badges on. FYI generally speaking an actual Aus delivered G37 (one of which I own) is worth $7k-$10k more, as it has Australian sales history, is unlikely to be wound back (well less likely than a Jp 370GT, which are routinely wound back), has Australian buttons and stereo (which means you can actually use them here), most (if not all) have cruise control, and various other things. The Jp 370GTs do have Akebono brakes (which are superior), 360 cameras (the ADM version has reversing only), and a few other little things different.

Aftermarket wheel specs for V35 Skyline's
Nightcrawler replied to Blakeo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
9.5 +10 on the back shouldn't sit 20-25mm outside the rear guards .... not on a V35 anyhow. On the front they will though. Especially if you are stock height and the wheels have no camber. I find this an extremely useful resource. If you plug in the oem wheel sizes, you can then compare other width/offsets and it will tell you internal clearance, as well as offset from centre outside the guards. https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator -
Aftermarket wheel specs for V35 Skyline's
Nightcrawler replied to Blakeo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
You will get a LOT of different opinions, but for a lightly lowered daily driver, I think the perfect fitment for a V35 is: Front 9.5 +20 Rear 10.5 +12 You will need to tuck these a tad from stock, but lowering your car will naturally do this a bit, and there tends to be enough adjustment in the stock setup to get enough camber for a little tuck. 9.5" +38 on the rear would be weak, and sit a heap inside the guards (like 3cm+ inside). For the front it would NEARLY be ok, but wouldn't sit flush unless you are stock height. -
Looks amazing mate! I am still stuck in a white ADM G37 .... still enjoying it though thus far.

Shop Recommendations for Supercharger Build
Nightcrawler replied to nitznair's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Almost no-one does Supercharger kits anymore, as they cost about the same as a turbo kit, yet produce very little extra power. Spending $10k+ (more than the value of the car) for an extra 50kw at the wheels is just dumb. If you want a fast car, buy a better one.- 1 reply

Splitters/lips For The Sport Bumper?
Nightcrawler replied to Dreadnought's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Looks like it will fit. G35 and V35 are identical cars when it comes to bodykits. Can't imagine why it wouldn't fit. -
First of all you need to buy a dual din kit to replace the hole that the oem stereo leaves, and in which to bolt a single/dual din replacement stereo. Check this thread (and search the forums for all your V35 info) and this thread is very useful too The kit you want looks like this (but source an OEM unit - avoid Metra/Aerpro kits - they have cheap rubbery buttons and are nasty quality-wise): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AERPRO-FP997604-SINGLE-DOUBLE-DIN-FACIA-KIT-FOR-NISSAN-SKYLINE-V35-350GT/172284374456 Join the Aus V35 Facebook groups is your best bet - they occasionally pop up for sale in there.

Did you pay to have a full mechanical inspection on the car prior to purchase? If not, then yes, you made a big mistake. Second hand cards are buyer beware - what you bought is what you bought. If you didn't bother/pay to find out the cars full history prior to purchasing, then sorry to say, but fool you. Getting a full service done by a qualified mechanic may help your fuel economy issues, but generally your right foot is the thing responsible for bad fuel economy. These are not terribly economical cars at the best of times though - the power they make for the size of unboosted engine is quite amazing imho, and the penalty for this is bad fuel economy.

Very cool! How did you attach it underneath? I will be interested to hear an update the first time you scrape it on something and see if it hold up. With the amount of potholes and spoon drains here in SA it would last about a week on my car

v36 Key Fob Programming
Nightcrawler replied to DashyyPC's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Not sure who else can do it, but Nissan most certainly can do it - they are lying. And they hate imports. -
Rattle gun sound on light acceleration
Nightcrawler replied to Pete_Repeat's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Not sure, but an oil change should help. You NEED to service the V36 at 5,000km intervals - anything else is torture on the engine and will lead to a premature demise. -
I recently hired an X-Trail when in Qld and they have a flat bit at the bottom of the steering wheel oem. I actually loved driving with it.

New Nissan Q50/Skyline looks awesome
Nightcrawler replied to PranK's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Completely agree Christian - I think it is awesome. When I bought my ADM G37 I really wanted to get a 3l TT Q60 but sadly was out of my price range ... I bet these would be a more affordable option, and are 90% as good as the Q60 imho. If we don't get them here that will suck, but the new version of SEVS coming in soon(ish) will make cars like this available to us anyhow. -

gt350 exhaust/tune help
Nightcrawler replied to Classic_Aussie's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yes, you are very confused. First of what, what the hell is a 'coyote tune'? And if such a thing even exists (I have never heard of it), how would it 'ruin' your hfcs? What are 'catless' headers? (headers are completely separate to the catalytic converters) I suggest you immediately stop talking to whoever you have been talking with, and go see a mechanic who regularly deals with VQs, who can actually help you. -
I did mine on jacks, then drove the car for 80,000km (before its untimely demise) without any issues. Can't see any benefit/effect of torquing them on the ground.

Take out the control arms yourself (easy job, 2 bolts each side = 15 minutes per side). Take the arm plus the new bushings to any half decent workshop and they can press in the new ones for bugger all $$$. Reinstall yourself. Profit.

Infiniti Q60 Headroom
Nightcrawler replied to V35_Paul's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
How can it be done in a V36? I have just bought an ADM G37 with sunroof and my hair occasionally brushes the roof ... would love to lower the seat a tad. -

Sorry, no idea. I would suggest taking it to a place that regularly deals with imports. -
2003 350 GT RIMS INFO NEEDED
Nightcrawler replied to Zx14rider's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
There are a TON of different things you need to decide before buying wheels. The fact that you want to keep them legal is very limiting, as most wheels are wider width and offset than stock, in order to fill out the guards properly. IMHO, aftermarket wheels in offsets similar to the stock V35 wheels will look pretty awful on the car, as they will sit a heap inside the guards. PLEASE don't buy Bob Jane or any other crappy Australian brand wheels on your V35! Here is a great resource with pictures, explaining widths and offsets : http://www.trak-life.com/wheel-offsets-hellaflush-hellafunctional/ Here are some useful FB groups: https://www.facebook.com/groups/JDMrimsforsaleAUS/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/jdmwheelsforsaleswap/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/V35OZ/ https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=v35 society australia (official)- 5 replies
