  1. Well I tried to ascertain the times of the bikini fashion parades today, but to no avail. No-one seems to know what time they will be on. So, I will make the meet times as follows. Place: under the shade next to the fashion parade runway/stage (I think it is in the section with the Aussie Bar). Friday 1:15pm (after Clipsal V8s Practice 2) Saturday 1pm (after VB Challenge) Sunday 12:15pm (after Clipsal V8 drivers parade) Is everyone happy with this? Come along and catch up with a bourbon and lunch.
  2. not sure what model car you are talking about, but for an R34 the turbo and non-turbo suspension is quite different. R34GTT suspension has balls at the front and forks at the rear. (Like the R33GTR) R34 n/a has balls at the front and balls at the rear.
  3. yep I am keen as to go out and get some nice shots. Will let you know when and where ....
  4. Here are my photos. Enjoy click here If anyone want full size/unedited shots of their car emailed to them let me know.
  5. Danh - are you really moving to Qld? Can't believe you are going so soon! Will give you a ring and let you know what times etc. I will be there every day, so I might make a daily meet time for beer and 'fashion' shows. I will check the timetable and see when a gap in racing and bikini models coincide. Darren - no worries mate - will give you a ring to hook up. I will prolly post up a meet time and place on here in the next day or 2 - then anyone that wants can rock up.
  6. James, I have a mate that is a semi-professional photographer. Come out with us late one night and we can do some long exposure shots, including moon and water etc. We have some awesome spots around the Port River, and some in the city also. Will let you know next time we go out. Attached are some examples of his work for your enjoyment.
  7. sorry, damn internet triple post
  8. sorry, damn internet triple post
  9. very nice dyno figure there!
  10. yep we will be there for the 4 days as per usual. Met up with a few of you blokes last year for a beer right near the fashion parade stage benhind Pit Straight. Will give those whose numbers I know to catch up for a beer. Anyone wants my mobile number PM me.
  11. You should have stopped and said hello Rob Yeah saw you go straight on Race_24 - but we wanted to stop off at the carpark in Lyndoch.
  12. others of us us had some Bubble trouble in Elizabeth
  13. oh yeah, there are always plenty of nice cars hanging around Tilbrooks!
  14. I live about 500m from Tilbrooks
  15. yeah I want some 4 door ones too. What if someone supplied the guy with some rear seats out of a 4 door for him to make a template from? Otherwise, why can't he just do fronts? When I emailed him a few months back off Ebay, he said he didn't have a template for R34 front seats either. I take it he can do them now?
  16. I think these are awesome in principle, and I looked heavily into getting a CoolingMist system a little while back. Problem is, when I mentioned the kit to my tuner (Martin Donnon - you might have heard of him, he tunes Keir Wilson's R32GTRs, LS1Edit.com and writes for various magazines under various names) he said 'no bloody way' - he said the temperature of the water can change dramatically and is impossible to tune safely and efficiently. The tune changes from one water/methanol batch to the next and changes dramatically relative to the air temp, car temp and overall humidity. Short version is, he quite strongly recommended against it, so I never went ahead.
  17. I thought you were going to ring me Shaun .... you coming on the cruise this Sunday? Can bring them then .... or meet you beforehand if that suits
  18. I was told these need to be pressed in - ie. have your sub-frame sent away to fit them on a 10 ton press.
  19. Depends where you live, obviously. Doyles is one of the best, but you pay for it. Prestige at Pooraka is ok quality/cheap price. MattR swears by O'Learys at St. Agnes. By the looks you are looking at a full front bar respray, which should be around $300 for the bog and spray. Bonnet chips generally are whole paint jobs, as touch-ups never work out 100%. Usually you are looking around $500 for a bonnet respray. These prices are in my experience by the way.
  20. thx Madaz - was one of the quickest and easiest mods I have done to her yet. It is a bit gay really, flexible conduit would have been heaps better. But I'll see if it is any good. Next on the drawing board is a sub, amp and splits install, then putting in some chipbard inside the boot lining on one side on which to mount a fire extinguisher in bracket, 5l fuel jerry can, and tool kit - so they are all quickly and easily acessible.
  21. yep, I think CAIs make a heap of difference - as long as you actually get cold air to them. I am going to modify my stock snorkel to get air in that way too (which is the best may in my opinion). I would really like to get a temp sensor in there to check the true variance in inlet temps, but never get around to rigging up a system. I think when the weather is hot a FMIC is the best and most efficient way to cool inlet temps, but when it is cool, getting fresh very cold air has to help performance markedly.
  22. yep, but only problem with that is the stormwater stuff is not sealed - it has little fluted holes in it. Not the best for an air ram system. Not a too bad idea anyhow.
  23. I was bored this arvo, so decided to make a system to get some more air into my pod. Since putting on my front-mount, I have lost the ability to fit the factory snorkel, so wanted to fabricate a kind of 'ram' to tunnel air into my cold air induction box and pod filter. Went to Bunnings and Stratco, but they don't have fliexble tubing the diameter I wanted. Headed to Clarke Rubber, but they are closed on a Public Holiday. I thought about what I had laying about at home and found a heap of pipe, elbows etc left over from doing our stormwater system. This got me thinking. See the results below. I love cable-ties - is there nothing they can't do? Also lined the inside of my CAI box with insulation similar to what is used as hood lining. Think this will help insulate the box somewhat. Anyone car to share some of their home mods? n.b added a few slammed pics of my 34 after installing some very low set HKS coilovers (I raised the height afterward of course - was undriveable like that). Enjoy
  24. Not much mate, but always keen to catch up with interstate fellow SAUer's and make them feel welcome. Let us know the dates you are here and we might do a little meet-up near the city or something. Always keen to check out other R34s
  25. nope stilll doesn't work. Could you make it any harder? Just upload it to a photobucket account or similar and PM us the link.
