  1. nice ride there Erin! Would be great to cruise around with the top off!
  2. yeah I agree - it is what you make it. I go there to listen to some oompah music, eat yummy German food, drink beer/cider and look at pretty girls. That is what it is all about for me (and I am of German background myself). If you want the cultural stuff it is all there in the tents at the Northern end. But even in Germany it is more about getting drunk than culture as such. I had an awesome time, and it was great to catch up with some of the lads from on here. How did you end up with Tracy, Ash? Duc - wtf are you talking about too cold? The forecast was 32 degrees with some late showers .... it definitely wasn't too cold!
  3. meet time is 11:30am outside the Southern gate for those interested in coming early and helping me hold a good table. PM me if you want my mobile number or look for a guy in a black Coopers shirt with the 3 beer label logos on the front.
  4. yeah Matt was here for the birth of SAU - I only missed it by a short period of time. - lucky 669
  5. yeah that is my big concern too - slipping whilst cruising = terrible fuel economy. I can stall mine up to about the same - 2,200 before the rears light up. I can actually get a pretty good launch at those sort of revs - so I am not convinced I want to make the stall any higher. Also, over 3,000prm you would be making too much power/torque (I would think) - and would you ever be able to get any decent traction off the line when launching hard? Since Bob's trans blew, I have actually been second guessing even doing the t/b upgrade. But when I chatted with Mike he said it was a great idea, and Guy (4_door_sleeper) has had his done and raves about it every time I see him .... I don't know - decisions, decisions ....
  6. From memory it is $10-$15 to get in, then of course $100+ for the many brews and kransky-dogs mit sauerkraut
  7. get stuffed - yes it has taken long enough - I actually took delivery of the 34 mid-July *sigh*
  8. I don't mind the S15 front - but the 34GTR is definitely the hottest!
  9. awwwwww Matty - it just won't be the same without you - I will wear my sombrero with pride in remembrance of you When are you back mate? Mmmmm 46 degrees - you still at Olympic Dam?
  10. Anyone keen on another (non-car) SAU outing for Schutzenfest this Saturday? I and a few mates will be heading in early either way to get a good table etc. Anyone interested post here and I'll PM you my mobile number and meet place/time. A lot of fun, drunkeness and watching drunk half-naked chicks strut about was had last year!
  11. yep put me down if my 34 is ready by then (it'd better be!) It's funny - there seems to be a changing of the guard with Munro and Cheeky married/pregnant, Mel and Pawley just had a baby *congratulations*, Joel with recent addition, Whatsisname busy doing other things, Grepin overseas, Buggalugs m.i.a, myself inbetween cars .... seems most of the old gang have disappeared. Of course some of the original group like Maxx, GFXMan, 9krpm, etc are still quite active. Ah well, I suppose it's the change of times. Well so much for my 'Welcome the R34' cruise to Victor with paintball or go-karting, that I was going to plan for February - might have to make it March.
  12. sorry mate, $150 is all I'm willing to offer. Can pick up (I'm in NE area)
  13. you have to pay each year ... I think it is $190 for up to 6 letters .... I'm still deciding what to get for my R34 - in the lead is R34GTT (not sure if it's gone) or R34P3R (for those that understand leet-speak/1337-speak), or just my last name (which I already own the rights to), or just plain old CCs .... decisions, decisions ....
  14. yeah that's Shanna's old car - love the Nismo front bar and lip combo. I was hoping to get the R34 plates off her, but she let them go with the car
  15. check the forums for used exhaust systems. Stick with Jap brand names if you can afford it. People have no trouble with 3" stainless steel cat-back systems, but do have cracking issues with stainless steel manifolds (which are obviously a completely separate item).
  16. nah Kym - rules have changed in the last year or so - they have become more strict. An orificer gave me a lecture on the subject not long after the rules had changed. See if you can get any sense out of Regency if you can bothered phoning them though - you will get a different answer each person you speak with (as usual).
  17. and 90dB is VERY, VERY quiet!
  18. nah mate, unfortunately the guy that was dead keen on it (and had an RAA check done on it which came up A.O.K) has never had comprehensive insurance before, so he got ridiculous insurance quotes which he coudn't afford So she is still for sale. Mind you I don't mind too much, as my 34 won't be ready until mid-January. However, damn the S15 is a fun car to drive - I am really enjoying it now I know she is to go soon. Whoever ends up buying it is going to get deal of the century since I've dropped the price to $33,000.
  19. yep, you are on the money Joel : Chops' VY Calais has 249rwkw and did a 12.77 on slicks = approx. 1,600kg without driver = 6.43kw/kg My S15/200SX has 197rwkw and did a 12.74 on RE540S = approx. 1,250kg without driver = 6.35kg/kw However, as I always remind Chops, if I were to run on slicks, I would be able to do a heaps better launch and better my time by quite a few tenths. Even with RE540S on the back I could only launch at low 3ks rpm (otherwise I spun the wheels) - whereas I think with slicks (on a properly prepared track like he raced on) I could launch around 4,000rpm and fly off the line.
  20. sorry mate, didn't realise it was you James - I will come over this weekend to have a look at your new beast - I can't wait to take it for a belt once it is on the road!
  21. yep, as always Ercia .... hehe I'd have to btake it back to Hollywood to get diamontes put on for you
  22. that's great to hear Ash! SA just wouldn't be the same without you
  23. damn that is tidy/new looking under the bonnet! I laugh at all the 'supposed' 50-80,000km R32GTRs coming out of Japan at the moment, and the engine bays look like they have done 300,000+km!
  24. I want an auto gearknob also
  25. nah it hasn't hapened yet, as my R34 has had delay after delay .... I am told it will be ready mid-January, so I will make the big Victor cruise mid-February. Will put a post up very early in the New Year for people to vote on whether we want to incorporate paintball, go-karting or jet-skiing/sea-dooing into the day. Lunch on the foreshore at Victor will be included in the schedule, as usual.
