  1. Well they are HIDs without a self-leveling mechanism and without external washers, so are completely illegal. But other than that they are not oem, and technically any modification to a car whatsoever needs to be ADR tested and complied - and given these things stick out like dogs bollocks when looking at the car, they are a magnet to a cop that wants to tear you a new one.
  2. Pretty sure not all V35 stereos are Bose mate - you would want to verify before buying a harness. If you are in the NE area, go drop by Marveys and get John to have a look - details below. John is a one man show, so if he was under a car or soldering something he often misses his phone. He will call you back. Tell him Andrew with the black V35 sent you and tell him you are going to join up with SAU:SA - he is a sponsor - he will do you a better price I think our website has some issues at the moment. If you want to download the form, fill it out and PM it to me I can get it sorted for you. 3. I am not 100% sure on the sizing - are the Akebono calipers the same size as the Brembos? I have Brembos and the pads fitted fine - I assume the SP Akebonos use the same pads as Brembos. And yes, they are dirt cheap, but are very good. I have run QFM HPXs on my S15, R34 and now V35 and cannot fault them.
  4. Yeah a heap of us on here were in a group buy for Angel Eye projector headlights ... so there should be around 10 sets of oem ones floating around .... however I wouldn't sell mine for anything - if you get defected with the angel eyes in, then you need the old ones to put back in to clear the defect. In SA we don't sell many of our oem parts - defects are too common
  5. Make sure you join up with our official car club Jase www.sausa.com.au As mentioned, John from Marvey Tech has done this conversion and all other sorts of electrical work on V35 and knows them well. Don't take it to Tonkins. It doesn't matter what Brand adapter harness you get, as long as it has the correct female setup for whatever stereo you are getting. The Bose stereo literally has Bose written on it, and if you lean into the back seat with the stereo on you should be able to discern the 7th and 8th speakers from the Bose setup low in the side trim near the seats.
  6. Go the QFM HPX or the Remsa pads - at around $100 an AXLE you can't go wrong and are great pads. Every bit as good if not better than the oem pads. http://gslrallysport.com/au/store/
  7. It's not often you see the $US and the Yen basically EXACTLY the same
  8. What power is your Legnum making? My V35 makes 183rwkw with 600Nm of torque
  9. I don't ever get looked at - even with my old body kit and wheels hanging out the guards. Parts are easy as they are mechanically nearly identical to the 350Z, and parts are cheap out of the USA. Do you want a black one with lots of mods? Buy mine I am thinking about getting a V36
  10. I take it you mean paddle-shifters? And I am pretty sure that all V35s have manual adjustment steering columns - only the Yanks got electric ones.
  11. 350Z alloy radiators DO fit, but it takes some massaging to get it in. The biggest problem is that due to it being so significantly thicker than the stock V35 radiator the top and bottom mounts don't properly line up, so you have to modify them. Also it fouls slightly on the air conditioner hard lines, and the radiator pipes touched the fan shroud on the passenger side. In the end my Ebay alloy rad ended up developing a weeping leak in the core (presumably due to being wedged in my car for 2 years) and I have now put the oem one back in. All in all not recommended. I did however also fit a Davies Craig trans cooler in front of the oem radiator, and disconnected/rerouted the trans fluid pipework. This takes a heap of heat OUT of the oem radiator, and makes it work better. I also fitted an oil cooler and again, this helps keep the whole lot cool. My recommendation: keep the oem rad, disconnect the oem trans cooler pipes running through the radiator, fit a decent trans cooler, fit a decent oil cooler.
  12. Bags are the answer, and what I am going to fit to my V36 when I get one. The best of both worlds. Let's face it - we don't want (or need) to be slammed all the time. But when you do, you do. So I would run it nice and high for daily duties, slam it for the weekends, and super slam it once it is sitting in place at car shows
  13. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Low-Profile-Hydraulic-Trolley-Jack-2-TON-/140922468599?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cfa238f7 is the cheapest one around. There is a similar one for $400 if you want to go Snap-on
  14. Yep, basically anyone who lowers their V35 eventually pulls out the lowered springs and puts in higher ones - I even pulled off my front lip as well, I was so jacked off at scraping it on EVERYTHING! And I busted my exhaust a number of times before modifying it to sit higher. #v35firstworldproblems
  15. Is that Jeremy's old car? I am thinking so.
  16. But how on earth would a 36k old engine be detonating? Like I said mine has been running 183rwkw and has now done 125,000km and I even drive it hard on the track and can't even hear it rattle EVER - it runs like a dream (admittedly I do have a bigger oil cooler, big alloy radiator and an oil cooler, but still). Let alone at low revs like the OP is stating.
  17. Dude there is definitely something seriously wrong with your car. It should not ping. Ever. The ECU is smart enough to prevent detonation and retard timing a long time before you can hear pinging. My V35 makes 183rwkw and I drive it like I stole it, and it NEVER pings. I have an ear for it (my R34 used to ping depending on boost and fuel used). Get a mechanic to check it out asap - at least get it on a dyno to check your afrs.
  18. Yay it is fixed! Awesome work, thanks C! Dion you can now email/PM me when you need someone added or deleted!
  19. I bought the Kinetix hfcs, and the passenger side one fouled under the car near where it connects to the y-pipe. Had to pay an exhaust shop about $100 to stuff around with it - which was the difference in price between some better brand ones that I should have gotten in the first place. And the guts of one of the hfcs came out within 40,000km. So I do not recommend them.
  20. It also depends on where you bought it as to whether it really has 36k on the clock - it costs under $100 to get this changed. If you have more km on the clock, there are other things that could be more built up in the engine or things that could be wrong. Obviously at 36k it should be basically a brand new car ...
  21. ^^^ Lol, that's what she said Sadly, no banana! Same error ... it hates me
  22. Jenkies still has the same engine, but it is now brandishing -5's and is making a very healthy 437rwkw! That thing is a weapon!
  23. Yeah for some reason Duncan I can log into the usercp, but when I try to change a user's group (primary or secondary) I get the following screenshot:
