  1. I'll meet you at 9pm K-Mart Ingle Farm, John .... rather than travel out to the sticks .... c u @ K-Mart!!
  2. I agree .... c u there anyhow
  3. you lazy boy .... use the phone book/www.whitepages.com.au .... TILBROOK AUTO & DYNO CENTRE 12 Elm St Hampstead Gardens 5086 (08) 8261 8619 MANTA RACING Unit 11/ 4 Deacon Ave Richmond 5033 (08) 8234 8688
  4. try Tilbrook Auto & Dyno or Manta Racing .... no idea on price
  5. Maxx try Adelaide Jap, JMS or someone like that .... surely there would be a few floating around the place. Robert we need a final decision on meeting place!!! It's your cruise so it's your call man! Please post ASAFP
  6. kewl Stang ... no offence meant buddy
  7. good response .... we 'old members' wub joo Matt .... I'm sure when u get it all together next weekend you will be doing very low 12s and hopefully even break into the 11s! Hope your clutch is good .... got my beast back today and the clutch is excellent (for a single plater) .... I have nearly stalled it a bunch of times already though! It's gonna be a nice cool night for the cruise and no rain in sight (at this stage). EVERYONE better be there!!! So have we decided on a definite meeting point?
  8. That sucks @ss Mel ... pfft stupid beaurocratic w@nkers!!!
  9. What are you having done to your 32 Mel? Why is it off the road for so long?
  10. hehe looks like Paul has dug himself a sh1t hole and is sinking fast
  11. Julian you could not be further from the truth man ..... I ****en love Jaffas SS .... and you summed up my attitude perfectly by saying: 'Most other cruises are full of idiot drivers in buzz boxes where you spend the whole time worrying about the P plater who might sideswipe you.' This is EXACTLY what I DON'T want SAU cruises to turn into! (hence the rant). What everyone has said above is true .... we don't want to exclude anyone (as I said I'm not even supposed to be one of the group ffs), but I just wanted to make a point ... and I think the responses above have backed up my point .... if everyone has the attitude that has been explained by various intellengent people above we can (and do) have a whole heap of fun! C u all Friday night for a HUGE one!!! (what does everyone think about my proposed route?)
  12. ok I have put some thought into this .... I reckon we could start at K-Mart Ingle Farm 8:30pm to leave at 9pm then go out Sudholz road, turn left up Gorge Rd, go thru the Gorge and come out onto North East Rd at Chain of Ponds. Then turn right and shortly after a left, heading toward Kersbrook. Then at Kersbrook take the turnoff to One Tree Hill and down to Main North Rd and pick up Matt at work, around 10pm. Then maybe head out Salisbury Highway (mmmmmm nice fun road) and then maybe go down the back of Cormack Rd/Wingfield direction - and do 'whatever we feel like' (in those dark and flat roads down there). From there we can go anywhere .... maybe go down the back way to Port Adelaide and then work our way down the shore to the Bay .... then back into town along Anzac Hwy or something. How does that sound to everyone?
  13. I'm with Matt .... K-Mart is a good idea - not visible from the main road and there is something to eat there to have on the way Plus it is 'sort of' on the way up the Gorge (which seems the preferred route). I am having my new clutch fitted at Tilbrooks this Wednesday .... so I am hoping you WON'T see me do some massive stalls on the cruise while it's bedding in .... but knowing me I will do it right in front of everyone! ok maybe this should be in a new post but I want to express an opinion here .... (I am hoping not to offend anyone .... but): I ABSOLUTELY in NO WAY want to be elitist here .... AND I know I am an outsider (since I don't actually own a skyline) .... BUT .... is there anyone else that wants to join my thinking in that we need to have a 'performance standard' of cars that we cruise with. I have nothing at all against newcomers, but it seems that if we have more and more slower (ie. n/a) cars join us, it gets a bit frustrating and loses the 'special group' feeling we have where no-one gets left behind and everyone can go with the flow. For example I remember one cruise not so long ago where somehow someone got invited in an old Corolla and proceeded to block me in on many occasions from following the group, not to mention specifically denied me a couple of drags (since I was stuck behind it at the lights). What comes to mind is how gay the Performance Forums cruises are (and I DON'T want to offend any PF guys reading this - they are a good group of people) since there are very few actual performance cars in the group. Fair enough everyone should get a go, but does this devalue the experience of a performance car driver who wants to have some fun? I think it does. Sorry for the rant .... just my 2c
  14. dunno Paul .... and yes I am spewing about having to hold my t-shirt for that Ford chick pic .... I reckon the chick on the right in the Sage Racing pic is by far the best - and she is one of the few chicks there I didn't get to cuddle .... I think I got value for money over the weekend anyhow!
  15. Matt, I have read on a couple of different forums that a lightened flywheel helps all round on cars like ours and the only slight drawback is some loss in inertial momentum which affects torque - but that is not such an issue in higher revs for our cars cos they pull very hard on boost all the way to redline. I am going to read back on this and other forums to make sure, but that's my understanding. As I think u know I am getting a lightened flywheel too. I am sure guys on this forum have lightened flywheels .... either MattR or Clint32? Do you guys, or anyone else want enlighten us from a tried and proven aspect? I know Brad, that for really torquey cars like yours and V8 etc that lightened flywheels are indeed a disadvantage as they don't keep making decent power in higher rev ranges - but I think for Skylines/Silvias we keep producing excellent power all the way up to 7k+ revs in worked motors due to the benefits of forced induction. And of course, as mentioned, the whole getting on boost quicker/easier is a massive advantage. Anyone else got some knowledge on this? I am not 100% sure ....
  16. k we should get something planned - but next weekend is a bad option since we are having Drifty's cruise Friday night (I'm looking forward to that one!). Two SAU related events in one weekend is a bit much (for the missus to bear ) Then the drags are on the weekend after (5th) Then it is my 1 year wedding anniversary the weekend after (don't even try to get me to go out that weekend - I value my life) .... so unfortunately it looks like I am out till the weekend 19/20th April. Hmmmmm If u all wanna do something sooner then organise away - but my hands are tied till then It will be a reasonable SAU gathering at the drags on the 5th so why don't we organise some name tags etc and have a bit of a proper social gathering there? Someone could bring a barbie and esky and we could do it in the dirt
  17. Feel free to check out My Yahoo Briefcase for a couple of nice pics from today and check back in the next couple of days for some car-related pics and videos
  18. cool Matt, I'll give you a ring .... how come you don't get some swish Holden tent to view in - or is that where you're working Sunday?
  19. sweet Paul .... 0414 904 451 if I don't ring u first. We have got a group of us so I might be able to smuggle you in to the 'silk-cushioned seat' (not) section if u want, using a spare pass. Cya there. Anyone else?
  20. I think it is something like that .... which really is cheap, compared to the prices of the Formula 1 when it was here - which was something like $120 for the one day Sunday pass and about $350 for a gold. So Miss*33 .... you are in a corporate box .... *mutters something about smuggle me in to eat free chicken and drink free beer*
  21. I am hoping to run but won't if I don't get my new clutch in by then. Since there will be so many SAU guys there I am definitely getting my act together to make it!
  22. So who's going .... and who wants to hook up at some stage for a few Pale Ales? I am just reading the Official Program and there is an R33 GTR in the Nations Cup .... and 5 x S15 200SX's and a 350Z in the GT Performance Championship .... and probably most exciting of all is the R34 GTR and 4 x R32 GTRs from the Adelaide Rally - except that they are not racing but on display all weekend. So anyone keen for a (walking) cruise around the paddocks or something on the weekend? We'll be there in the Pit Entry Gold either way!
  23. Greetings from the VERY rainy Gold Coast! We have 2 cyclones near here to contend with atm .... not happy Jan! Went to Sea World today and got rained on all bloody day ..... oh well was fun anyhow. Had a blast and absolutely beautiful weather Sunday for O'Reilly's Plateau tour (boardwalk in the top of rainforest trees), also for Monday at Dreamworld and Tues at Movieworld ..... so I can't really complain! Back to the topic .... me the leader? .... bwahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha .... sorry just picking myself up off the floor ... anyways .... Brad - you know you can always have a passenger seat with me So the ideas ..... yeah I'm up for any of the above suggestions. I especially agrre with John that if we're gonna go skiing we better go soon before the weather turns nasty! But I'm up for anything! Catch you all and will elaborate when we get back Sunday!!! Gotta go for a surf now
  24. John u r da man .... bring on the hydraslides I say I agree it would be nice to take a different run for a change .... Chain of Ponds, Gumeracha, Birdwood etc is a nice stretch .... btw I am off to Surfers Paradise with the missus for a week of R&R .... so don't get offended anyone if I don't respond to posts/emails .... I'll try to check in up there, but am not making it a priority .... hope the cruise tonight was cool - sorry I couldn't make it but we leave at 8am tomorrow morning and the missus told me I'm not allowed out till 2am doing fun stuff ... oh well there's always next time!
  25. As per comments in another post I (and others) have put forward ideas on having a big daytime cruise and another group activity which involves everyone getting to know each other. Points brought up so far include: 1. all wear name badges with name and nick 2. take a photo of every member and their ride, to put up on a 'Who's Who' page on this site 3. some form of eating whether it be picnic or the Crown Pub @ Victor 4. cruise to Victor (open to other ideas) 5. possible paintball skirmish at Wirrina Resort (Victor Harbour) - as this is something just about every guy wants to do, but never does it. Now we have sort of formed a committee comprising Myself (Nightcrawler), Paul (Pawley), Matt (Whatsisname) and Erica (Cheeky). Anyone else wanna be an 'organiser'. So .... please, PLEASE add any ideas suggestions, ideas, likes, dislikes, or just tell me to piss of back to hole I came from etc. etc. Proposed/possible date Sunday (for Erica) 30th March (for Paul). Totally open to other ideas/dates/organisers!
