Stillen Sway Bar Problem
Nightcrawler replied to 81gSKy's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
There is HEAPS of latitude in the stock bushings - they don't need to close back together completely when done up. Make sure he has undone the stock bushings, like you said. Why on earth would you pay a workshop to fit these - it is the easiest job in the world to do yourself -
Ah, ok, got you. I disagree. But everyone has different tastes
-
^^^ the stock exhaust has 4" tips - that is how they are SUPPOSED to look!
-
Yeah well if you want to go a bit bigger (really, smaller than stock is a bit soft ), these are the perfect opportunity

Eoi: Titanium Look Exhaust Tips Cheap
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yes Josh, but if you want to believe, adding titanium look tips over your existing exhaust pipes adds 10rwkw Ah fair enough Coby. What date is the-lowdown? -

What, you need them now? Sheesh it is only about a month wait. And you won't find any like this for sale anywhere - and the few that are around for sale in the USA of $60-$120 EACH plus shipping. I just can't lash out a grand and get these immediately unless I am pretty sure I can offload them all or the vast majority of. -
Yeah I am spewing you have beaten me by a few weeks - I even have a 2nd cat-back stock exhaust that I am going to cut the stock tips off and make mine quad My D-Max rear bar is just begging for quads - the duals look so lonely in those big holes. If your tips are 4" (which I presume they are), go have a look at my EOI thread on titanium look slip over tips - they would make your exhaust look 100% times better imho. I can do a bit better price if you can help me get rid of 4 too

Not sure Mitch but I would think they are the same. Go measure your tips - the coupe ones are about 10cm/4". I really need to get 6-8 sets sold to get the ball rolling. Wait time up a month from now, but could be well sooner - it really depends how long it takes to get 6-8 positive replies on here I can wear holding some of the cost and put any remaining on sale here kept 'in stock' or chuck them on Ebay, so as long as we get a few more takers then I will do the deal and get them ordered. Man I love group buys - everyone wins! I just wish more people were interested in the urethane Nismo front bars - I can't believe more people aren't jumping on my other group buy idea I didn't mention earlier, but the other benefit of these is that you can lengthen how far your tips poke out from your rear bar - most decent V35 exhaust setups I have seen have the tips protruding 5-10cm from the bar - which with these you can obviously do without having to spend $1,500 on a full exhaust -
Suspension Issues - Please Help
Nightcrawler replied to Seano350GT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
And reading through your post again, I think you might be talking about the sway bar end link where it bolts onto the lower control arm. To fit these properly you need to lower the car onto bricks or something to lift up the upper control arm to the sway bar end link, to make the holes line up. If you just try to screw the bolt through without it being lined up perfectly, you shave off the bolt thread. This is what it sounds like has been done to yours. Luckily these are a common part between pretty much every Nissan, and are cheap. I replaced mine a while back on my R34 and they cost stuff all - maybe $50 a pair from memory. -
Suspension Issues - Please Help
Nightcrawler replied to Seano350GT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nissan don't sell many of the bushes or links separate - the lower control arm itself (no. 10 on the pic) is a consumable part, and they do not sell the shocker bush or main bush - you have to buy a whole arm (rrp $500)! I bought some Nolathane bushes and pressed them in last week (see photo below). When I pulled the lower control arm off I realised that the lower ball joints are stuffed too - and guess what? Nissan don't sell them either - they only sell the whole Number 1 on the pic assembly at $1k a pop. Luckily I found some ball joints online for $60 per pair delivered. For the record, by my memory (given had the car apart last week) our 2 wheel drive V35s don't have that No. 15 part! Maybe I am wrong though. I am willing to bet that your noise is either the lower control arm bushes or your ball joints. -

Limp Mode Error Codes V35 Cvt-8, Help!
Nightcrawler replied to TOOBO's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Sorry to tell you, but these extensive issues with the CVT gearbox are seldom able to be completely fixed, and is the exact reason people stay away from GT8s like the plague. Everything you will fix, a new error will come up. Before I realised what a disaster GT8s are I looked at buying one. Luckily before I made full payment the gearbox developed errors, and after about 6 weeks and 3 different lots of sensors and relays ex-Japan, the seller gave up and parted the car out. Good luck with it, but I am sorry to tell you no matter how much money you spend, you will probably never fix it. Found this thread which may be helpful - I know he is in Bris, but that is a better option than parting out your car. At least if he has experience with them you may be lucky and he can help you. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/344504-v35-gt-8-cvt-transmission/ -
It's a complete myth. I have one and it didn't do anything.

Eoi: Titanium Look Exhaust Tips Cheap
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I wouldn't have thought so. I had (until recently when the pipe into the box cracked) a Chinese axle back rear muffler with titanium look tips. The exhaust cost me only $120 delivered off Ebay, and the tips still looked like brand new after 18 months - and that included the Winton SAU Nats track day, 2 Mallala track days and around 40,000km on the street. So I am sure these would be fine I can't guarantee that, but for $90 if they only lasted a year it would still represent good value - mind you I am very sure they would last longer then you are going to own the car. -
I have been looking for ages for decent titanium or titanium look exhaust tips. I have come across a good deal, but I have to buy in bulk. So who would be interested in some of these - in my opinion they look awesome, and are one of the cheapest upgrades you will ever do for your V35, with maximum impact! They slip straight over your stock tips, or you can have your stock tips cut off and these welded on (they narrow to the rear as per the 2nd pic). Price would be $90 per PAIR of tips shipped anywhere in Aus. These are NOT made of titanium, but the tips look like the real deal (especially with the gold centres, which is what real titanium does in the cooler part). I have been looking around at literally hundreds of distributors and these look the best by far in my opinion.

Yes they will fit, and yes they will blind oncoming traffic! You need to get Jp ones like we all did. -
Bottomed out my hfc so much that it bent and cracked. Easy weld up and it is now back in I might have to raise up the front another 10mm so I stop hitting my cats
-
Looks awesome Sam! Those back tyres don't look as wide as my 275s
-
A lazy 1:28, but that was with my windows down and a/c on .... after that my tyres went to shit and I had to stop ... I reckon there is a 1:26 in it though.
-
The other big driver of economy is your O2 sensors - when I changed mine in my old 230rwkw R34 it made a huge difference. But sadly the V35 has 4 of the buggers, and they are not cheap.
-
Lower control arm bushes are now pressed in, mid-pipe resonator removed and hfc cracks welded up .. now to put it all together tonight before work tomorrow
-
Hah, you wish you can beat 12.74 down the quarter :D ... but when you finally do I will never hear the end of it

V35 2003 Engine Mod Help
Nightcrawler replied to KingManu23's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
^^^ so, where are the pics? -
I normally get around 13l/100km but that includes a lot of sitting around idling with the a/c on for my work. But when I did a decent highway trip from Adelaide to Shepparton last year for the SAU Nationals I got 8.8L/100km!!! And I have all sorts of mods and am making 183rwkw.

Any guys from this group buy want to join in on another? Sexiest front bar available imho - and in Urethane not shitty fibreglass. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/401873-anyone-interested-in-a-urethane-nismo-v2-front-bumper-group-buy/ There will probably only be 4 bars available.
