  1. Nah I don't believe that for a second mate. And the evidence is that your gearbox is now not behaving. Go ask Willall Racing (who make and sell their own oils for R35GTRs around the world) if the Motul oil that JMS put in your car is the same as factory. I am willing to bet serious coin it is not.
  2. As I understand it, NEVER, EVER use non-Nissan gearbox or diff oils .... they are very sensitive/temperamental beasts, and everything I have read says do not use anything but oem Nissam oil.
  3. Wow you guys are naive - I guarantee you that any thief worth his salt would be in and gone in any car with a factory alarm within a minute. And cars with start buttons are the easiest of all. But not only that, you want a tilt sensor so they don't steal your wheels, proximity sensor in case you ever want to (or accidentally) leave your window open, battery backup so they don't just pop your bonnet and cut your battery lead (to put it on a flat-bed), etc etc. And don't think V36s are immune - they are nice cars that are reasonably quick. There is no way I would feel safe even leaving my V35 anywhere without a pager alarm (and I am fitting a Jaycar GPS/GSM tracker in the next 2 weeks also). It would be the worst thing ever if protik posts up next week that his car has been stolen, on the basis of misconceptions about how good a stock alarm is, and the old 'you have insurance anyway' theory (which is terrible - how inconvenient would it be to have your car stolen and all the pain you would go through to replace it) ....
  4. Sadly no-one will EVER fix the GPS .....
  5. ^^^ except his is an 06, and there is NO translation for Series 2 yet.
  6. Need it asap really. And REALLY would prefer black and/or Nismo. But if you sell your car and have it paying around, and I haven't found a new one by then, let me know and we might do the deal. I have found one that I can get shipped to me for $260 including shipping, but it is not black.
  7. Have a look at the stickied thread at the top of this section - ALWAYS do a search before posting a new topic!
  8. Has anyone got a stock V35 coupe front bar for sale? I am really looking for a Nismo one, but if a stock one is offered in black for the right price I might just go oem.
  9. No worries mate. Rims are a personal thing, and some people will tell you that those rims are fine, but in my experience you definitely want them to fill out the guards, as they look tons better!
  10. Buying wheels is extremely complex. There are a gagillion topics that have covered this before (even in the V35 section) - go do a search. But the short answers are: no they won't be illegal (but any rim with decent offset that suits a V35 will technically be illegal, as you are legally only able to increase your track width by 10mm on each side), load rating is not an issue, but the big issue is that any wheel that fits a Falcon will be VERY weak offset and in my opinion completely unsuitable for the massive guards of a V35. For your reference if you plan to put : - 8" rims on the front the perfect offset of an 8" rim for the front of a V35 is about -10 (Falcon rims are probably about +30 - so 40mm too far inside the guard to look good). - 9" rims on the rear the perfect offset of a 9" rim for the rear of a V35 is about 0 (Falcon rims are probably about +35 - so 35mm too far inside the guard to look good). Edit: you just posted the offset of the rims - awful! They will sit 4-5cm inside the guards, which is similar to stock. If this is the look you are after then go for it, otherwise go find some decent offset rims that will actually look good.
  11. This is treading a fine line between helping out members and advertising your business. Be careful - become a paid SAU trader if you want to continue advertising on here.
  12. ^^^ well it is a pretty self-explanatory forum rule that if you don't intend to buy something, DON'T post in someone's thread. It is completely up to the OP as to what photos to put up, and he clearly pointed out that they were taken months ago. It would appear you don't even own a skyline, so why did you join up on SAU anyway? To stir shit? It would appear so.
  13. ^^^ wolfpackracing, did you seriously join up on SAU to jump into a sellers thread and say some useless bs? How about you find a better hobby.
  14. LOL I am not just a moderator. And he said, and I quote "Just need the stupid thing to start" - the very definition of needing to deal with the immobiliser.
  15. ^^ yeah right - if you read tip 6 of the article you linked to, most vehicles cannot have a new immobiliser fobs made (you need a dealer to do this) .... so have a tow truck ready - yeah right. So suddenly the $400 from the dealership seems cheap. They can probably make a new key and immobiliser fob from the VIN number of the vehicle, courier it to the OP and they are away. And Kylie have you ever had the exact thing the OP is describing happen to you? Well I HAVE - so it seems you are the idiot giving out bad advice based on an American article you found on the internet. Useful. Not. And I take it from your long history of warnings that your outspokenness has seen you undone before. So how about you stop talking about things you know nothing of. If the OP followed your advice there is every chance that they would have to pay for a locksmith callout, non-genuine key to be made, unsuccessful non-genuine fob to be made, tow truck to the dealer, then the actual cost of the new key and fob. As I said above, this makes $400 seem very cheap. Just go genuine. Yes stealerships suck, but to get a genuine key and fob and have 100% satisfaction the first time round, you would be foolish to call out a locksmith.
  16. How exactly do you think you are going to cut a key without a template, and start the car without the immobiliser fob/code? You need the dealership to do it.
  17. I'll be there around 7pm
  18. I spotted you on Grand Junction Rd the other week Melzi - car is looking awesome!
  19. Yep, everyones does it. Go wee Willshire Motor Trimmers on South Road - the best in SA. http://www.willshire.com.au/
  20. You are welcome mate. Yep, with the combo of the Viper and GSM tracker your car will be very safe. Of course nothing is absolutely foolproof, but you give yourself the best chance with a setup like that. If you are completely paranoid about having your car stolen (like me) you should also consider getting your auto elec to put in a kill switch while they fit the Viper and GSM .... Check out all the other options to buy/install with the 5904 (I am not sure what comes standard on the updated model), but with my 5901 I also incorporated: tilt sensor, bump sensor, movement sensor, window windup (so you can open and close your windows using the remote, or can be set to auto close both windows when you turn the car off), battery backup, and 3 extra piezo sirens to mount inside the car, so if a thief gets into your car they will be completely deafened by the sound!
  21. Any half decent reputable audio workshop can do it. they probably sell their own brand(s) of them too, so can go through features. The ones a heap of us in SA are getting are from Jaycar.
  22. 1). the factory alarm system is a joke - definitely get an aftermarket (which you will need for insurance purposes anyhow). Many members in SA run the Viper 5901, which is a pager alarm, so if you are within a 1km radius your keyfob goes off in your pocket and you can run back to your car. A lot of people are putting in GPS trackers too - these are VERY affordable these days, and then you can track your cars whereabouts on Google maps, and you can also send your car an SMS to cut the fuel pump and disable the car. 2). 98 octane is basically the best we have, and what everyone runs. You may get away with 95ron, but to save a few dollars a tank, would you risk long term blowing your engine? 3). No idea, check with NSW RTA or equivalent. 4). No idea ask Chris Rogers on SAU (he is the pre-eminent Skyline auto mechanic is Aus) 5) as above. 6). No - Japanese tyres are NOT dot rated, so are illegal to run in Aus. If you ran these on your car car (or sold them and someone else did) and they had an accident, it would void their insurance. Best keep/sell them as clearly specified track only tyres. 7). Word is they will be around $100k, so you don't need to worry. And no, that will not increase the value of yours (if that was your next question), as they will have English buttons/Nav, local warranty and a host of other benefits over their grey import cousins. Hope this helps. Edit: oh, by the way, welcome to SAU. And beautiful car you have there!!
  23. You need to replace your door actuators - about $250 each shipped from the USA is the cheapest. If you replace just the drivers side actuator it MAY fix the problem. I need to do mine too. Go see George and Theo at GT Autosound Glynde - they have worked on V35 stereos before. I pay $1,200 with Just Car Insurance (and that is a higher than normal premium as I use the car for work, plus have $5k worth of wheels/stereo/extras listed) - but I am rating 1, live in a safe suburb and the car is securely garaged at night. All of those things impact your premium. Also, go check out www.sausa.com.au - we have 120 members in the club (including 4 x V35s). You should join up! Cruises, track days, car shows, dinners, paintball, we do it all.
  24. Yeah no worries mate - I definitely wasn't having a go at you, just letting you know that we don't put up cruise routes for the above-mentioned reasons. The biggest one is uninvited cars coming along and acting like dickheads, then we get picked on because of it. It has happened many times before, trust me.
