Obd2 / Consult / Something To Read Codes?
Nightcrawler replied to talkiet's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Pretty much no-one has gotten anything to properly work with our V35s, as they are a mismatch of OBDII and Canbus .... good luck. -
Using aux input for obd2 diagnostic?
Nightcrawler replied to Lachlan S's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Try and find proof of someone using one and getting all the OBD data to work with Torque. Hundreds of people have tried hundreds of OBD devices (I tried a couple of different ones many years ago - none worked). If it were as easy as you say, EVERYONE would have one in their V35s. That said, these HKS units do look good and are fairly recent maybe they will work? But go ahead - buy all the bits, and if you can get it all to work I will applaud you and follow the exact same route Let us know how you go!- 12 replies

Using aux input for obd2 diagnostic?
Nightcrawler replied to Lachlan S's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yeah they all say they are compatible with G35s, but their wiring setup is somewhat different to our Jp V35s. The DTV is just plugged into the AV in for the screen/amp setup in the boot.- 12 replies

Using aux input for obd2 diagnostic?
Nightcrawler replied to Lachlan S's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
As I said, good luck getting any meaningful data out of our OBDII. Has been tried and failed countless times before.- 12 replies

Using aux input for obd2 diagnostic?
Nightcrawler replied to Lachlan S's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Your big problem is that almost nothing will talk to the ODBII in our V35s. I am not sure anyone ever has gotten any meaningful data out of our hybrid Canbus/OBDII setup. Happy to be proven wrong though. Getting the data/display into the factory screen is easy - the amp in the boot has an aux in (that I currently use for DTV).- 12 replies

Bootlid Wire Severed
Nightcrawler replied to Brodie_v35's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have NEVER heard of a V35 with this problem. Much more likely is that it is a fuse. Not sure where (or if) the switch is fused, but I assume it is, and it sounds more likely than a severed wire. When checking fuses, remember there is a fuse box behind the battery as well, not just in the footwell. -
PLEASE HELP V35 STARTUP PROBLEM!
Nightcrawler replied to Pap17's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Buggered battery would be my guess - sounds like the battery has dropped a cell. Try jump starting it and see if it does something different. -
Almost nothing OBD related works on V35s - even a mobile mechanic came out to diagnose some heating issues with my car and neither of his (fairly) professional OBD scanners would speak with my car at all. You can buy one of those Kogan ones and try it, but it is unlikely to work. However if it did work and you posted your results/findings on here you would be a hero - we would all grab one, I am sure.

Oh cool. Do you have a link/info? This might sway my decision to get a V36. I had been leaning toward buying an ADM Infiniti G37 due to the language limitations of the Jp system, but the price premium for them over the V36 is insane.
-
You need an installer to do it as far as I am aware. Each state of Aus had a guy that did it, and part of the process was him calling Russia/Estonia real time and them decoding a code that the car ECU output based on time and GPS coordinates - definitely did not seem to be something that you could do (or they would let you do) yourself. Things might have changed though.

2003 V35 350gt coupe towbar
Nightcrawler replied to KingManu23's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yep $700 is a really decent price (and I bet it would end up being more than that). Quite a bit of fabrication work involved. You would want to check with them the warranty/legality though - they would have to make up custom brackets to mount to your chassis rails and rear reo bar. A lot of fabrication involved. -

Nightcrawler replied to KingManu23's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yep it is a tow hook - there is a little plastic piece behind the front number plate that clips out, and there is a hole underneath that the gold hook screws into (assuming you have your original reo bar underneath). -
missing cd for sat nav 2005 skyline v35
Nightcrawler replied to Wldfya's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
By far your best bet is to get a dual din trim/climate control then put a double din touchscreen stereo in that does TV and Satnav. If you have a series 1: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-STAGEA-SKYLINE-V35-DOUBLE-DIN-CONSOLE-PANEL-INFINITI-G35-AUDIO-BLACK-/182402444732?hash=item2a78086dbc:g:B3EAAOSwo4pYY7pE Series 2: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-V35-DOUBLE-DIN-CONSOLE-PANEL-INFINITI-G35-2-DIN-2005-2007-/182412633001?hash=item2a78a3e3a9:g:eNwAAOSwUKxYb5tu People have had the oem screen retrofitted to be touchscreen with Nav etc. but then you still have stereo do deal with. Pretty sure there are mobs about that do it, but don't expect any change out of $4k. Chris Rogers from Audio Express in Qld is the guy you want to speak to - he can fly down to you and do it, but there are almost certainly guys in Syd that can do it. -

Nightcrawler replied to Wldfya's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
1) Nav doesn't work in Australia, even with the CD. 2) You need a band expander for your radio, but the numbers won't be correct - you will have to learn the new ones 3). Jp TV doesn't work here - you need a whole external digital TV unit that plugs into the AV of your amp in the boot. -

Atermarket help/needed info V35
Nightcrawler replied to james1999's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
A group buy for items of this size doesn't work - shipping is based on cubic weight, so unless you can slip the bars inside each other in the same box (and the seller is wiling to do this) then you won't save a cent on shipping. Plus, once you exceed $1,000 of item plus postage value you get hit with customs clearance (involving a customs agent), customs duty, fees and gst on top of all that. It is a VERY expensive exercise, so have your wallet ready. -

Yep, VERY cheap fibreglass kits that take exactly one bottom out/spoon drain to crack and smash them. Buyer beware. -
Atermarket help/needed info V35
Nightcrawler replied to james1999's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
FYI to ship my Nismo style urethane bumper from the US cost $1,250! So to split the shipping cost I got them to slip 4 bars into each other in the one box for the same shipping fee. - hence why I have one left for sale (keeping one, sold 2, and one left). I did however then trigger the 'over $1k import' rule and had to pay customs clearance, duties and GST, which amounted to a lot! -

Almost nowhere in Australia that sells anything body-kit related for the V35, sadly. And the few that do .... well ask around for the quality of their goods. http://www.bodykitskingdom.co.uk/magento/nissan/skyline.html http://www.carmate.com/display_products_cat.php?carMake=nissan&carModel=R35-V35&year=Coupe BUT, I have a brand new Nismo style Urethane (= unbreakable, unlike fibreglass) front bar for sale - $1,000 if you are interested. -
Sales demand for the V36?

They are insanely good value - you cannot find a similar spec, look, performance and 'bang for buck' car imho! -
Sales demand for the V36?
Nightcrawler replied to asitag's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yes, the car market is beyond awful at the moment. There is a silver Type S with 98k on the clock for $18,500 that has been sitting around for ages, a white SP with 125k for $17,500 and a charcoal Type P with 99k for $18,900. Seems you are a tad above market price, but not far off - your kms are better though, obviously. Just hang out for the right price/buyer if you can wait, otherwise you have to drop your price. Sucks, but that is life. I am dreading selling my black V35, given the low prices of V36s My advice also is to give yours a better (or professional) polish and take some better photos - your Carsales ad makes the paintwork look pretty rough to be honest - especially on the bonnet. Does it have Akebono brakes? A pic of them will help sell it too. And as much as I quite like the Hiros (I assume that is what those wheels are), if you have the stock wheels chuck them on and sell the Hiros separately - they add no value. -
V35 Sedan flex pipe scraped
Nightcrawler replied to T_Vo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Get a new Y-pipe fabricated with slightly higher road clearance - 1cm makes a world of difference (also at which time take note of the design changes of any high end brand name Y-pipes available in terms of angle and tune length and get an exhaust shop to replicate).
