Did Anyone Got Speed Fined On The Way To Saunats?
Nightcrawler replied to Chopstik's topic in South Australia
Sorry mate, but getting done twice just shows you didn't learn your lesson the first time. And I don't know what people are on about with this 3% or 5% margin, THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE in Vic. FFS, how many times can I say it? I have rellies over there have been done for 61 and 62 in a 60 zone. -

Any One Got An Exemption For High Powered Vechicle Exemption

^^^ what reason are you going to give when the magistrate/cop asks you why you can't sell your illegal car and buy a non-turbo car to comply with the law? You are completely wasting your time. It's like you came on here asking for advice, and are completely ignoring it. -

2001 V35 Audio Help!
Nightcrawler replied to YoungMoney's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Don't bother fixing it - it will just blow up again down the track. I heard that parts are no longer available to fix them anyhow. The disc reader in the glovebox is for the Nav and is completely useless here in Aus. Buy the Nissan double din kit and put a decent stereo in it. Avoid the "Metra" double din kit like the plague - they are cheap rubbish. I did the English conversion, but to be honest I had figured out how to do pretty much everything you can do in Japanese ... it is not that hard. I am sure Chris will jump in here first thing tomorrow and let you know 100% what to do - given he is the best V35 audio specialist in Australia. -
Any One Got An Exemption For High Powered Vechicle Exemption
Nightcrawler replied to reeceo21's topic in South Australia
Yeah but they are not talking about taking your license - they are talking about not letting you drive a turbo car to help you not kill yourself for others .... they will just tell you to buy a car that complies with your licensing level. And to say to them "it is just a little RB20" is stupid - they know damn well that with minor tweaks and upgrades RB20s can make 200rwkw .... significantly more power to weight than they deem acceptable for a P plate driver. -

I can't see why they would give you an exemption ... if they did, they could give everyone an exemption just because they like their car .... look at it from the cops point of view - I wouldn't think you have a leg to stand on. If you love the R32 look so much buy a non-turbo one or swap your for a non-turbo one + cash .... a bit harsh, but you asked our opinions -
Is This Sort Of Overheat?
Nightcrawler replied to jbjb's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Unscrew the little plastic bleed screw in the left hand side at the rear o fthe engine. If you look along the water piping you will see it - it is black plastic and has an X in it to unscrew it with a phillips-head screwdriver. -

Your thermo fan should come on even when the a/c is off, once the car gets hot enough. I would be checking for air in your system (which I bet is the cause). Or get a mechanic to install a water temp probe and actually check your water temp to see if your stock gauge is lying/broken. -
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my ears now hurt ..... bloody nice car though!

What Am I Not Doing Right To Sell My Car?
Nightcrawler replied to GRK35L's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yep, that would be my advice too - if you don't HAVE to get rid of it, then don't. Mind you, between the poor world economy, Labor riasing taxes to fill their black hole, coupled with the Rangas carbon tax, things are going to be VERY shit financially in Australia for a VERY long time ... don't expect the car market to pick up any year soon. -

Looks a little high, but that is not how Nissan gauges work. Basically all Nissan temp gauges will warm up to their normal running temperature, and sit there until the fluid actually boils (and you have broken something), and only THEN goes off the richter scale hot. Generally they don't move much inbetween. But you should put a real temp gauge on every Nissan car imho - espeically one with a 95-100 degree warning light. Boiling cars is the 2nd easiest way to blow an engine (next to not enough oil/low oil pressure). I put an awesome EL overlay over my cluster, and in the process of fitting it put my temp gauge out of scale - mine now sits between the 3rd and 2nd last lines when at operating temp (and already 1/3 way up when cold at start up). That's why I put in a real temp gauge -
What Am I Not Doing Right To Sell My Car?
Nightcrawler replied to GRK35L's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I know of heaps of CVTs that have failed with absolutely no warning, despite being perfeclty maintained. Including a sedan I won at auction 2 years ago that luckily developed a trans problem before I took delivery of it - and not a single individual in Australia knew how to fix it. -

1. price is too high - there are quite a few nice coupes for sale around the place for low $20ks. 2. it is a GT-8 and anyone that knows anything about Skylines wouldn't touch one with a 40 foot pole as they are known for their failures (a 350GT sedan was recently on Carsales for $5k with a blown CVT trans that required replacement). 3. the car market is absolutely shot. And will only get worse when that useless Ranga's carbon tax comes in. Don't panic - when I sold my 4 door R34 2 years ago for $18,500 with tons of fruit on it, I didn't have a single call for 6 months, then a guy rang and came and picked it up within 2 days. But in selling the V35 I would concentrate more on putting it in high traffic areas with for sale signs on it - as you pointed out most people have no idea what it is - so they wouldn't go searching on CarSales for one! IMHO get rid of the billet grille - it looks like ass. -
We saw you wandering around in the distance with 2 other blokes at one point when we were on the concrete seats on the Southern side, but since we couldn't see much we wandered over and stood on the inside wall of the track for the rest of the day.

Except that I don't know the meaning of "don't grope the grid girls" .... taken today at the drags - and YES I got burnt as FCUK ... and I am Godfather at my nephew's Christening tomorrow - my sister is NOT going to be happy
-
Was an awesome day with some amazing cars ..... 176mph at half track is amazing - makes your bones hum with excitement as they fly past. Pity I got burnt as hell - at least I am not as burnt as Terbeeke - he is going to be sore tomorrow! Great to catch up with MattR, Whatsisname, MattyT & Jas too!

Or any dump - every dump has a weighbridge that you drive over on entry. They will almost always tell you what you weigh if you just rock up to the gate.

Ah yeah mate - I nearly wrote 3, then I thought nah it is 2 ... but yeah - whatever you sorted out with David is what you have .... come to think of it, yeah you bought Chop's, Nikki's and Whiplash's tickets - so that makes 3 ..... I willl get you David's bank account details to transfer some $$ to sooner or later too.
-
I am thinking about heading out there around 2pm and will have to leave around 6ish for a dinner. Should be plenty of action around then I hope.
-
I will ask around mate, not sure. Sled bought 2 of them off us, as Chops and Nikki obviously won't come anymore. But Sonia or Brownyn may not be keen, so you may be in wiht a chance. I will let you know.
-
Yep I wil be out there for a look. When it is 1/4 mile early next year I will go run the V35 just to see how slow she really is Maybe you missed Matty's post about this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/375656-drags-back-at-air/

Yeah I disagree Kirshy - Clipsal is as much about {walking around admiring hotties, seeing displays of all varieties, eating too much and drinking too many Cougars}, as it is about cars. I love it!

There is a much longer version around, but I cbf finding it - here is the short less interesting version edit I think you need to do an age verification to watch it - go watch it on YouTube
