  1. That unit won't even close to turn over your car (well may turn it over, but is unlikely to start it). Don't be cheap - you just bought a $40k car - buy a new Odyssey or similar sealed battery for it. Or even better spoil your Skyline and go AGM.
  2. It is not a scam, but simply is a resistor which decreases the voltage signal of air intake in the AFM to the ECU, and so makes the car run a tad leaner and make a tad more power. Problem is the ECU will probably re-learn that it is there over time and not have any effect. Either way, don't risk blowing up your ECU (or worse, engine) on one of these pieces of crap. Go out and buy yourself an SAFCII ($400) or Apexi Neo ($600) and get it tuned properly ($300-$500). Does a similar thing (in theory), but professionally, with significantly more scope and complexity, and your tuner can perfectly tune your afrs to maximise power and fuel efficiency.
  3. I disagree about the Superway - yes it is a pain now, but when it is done it will free up one of the worst peak hour intersections immensely. Next they need to fix how the turning lanes from Grand Junction onto Port Wakefield Road work (they need 2 turning lanes) .... and then fix the Bridge Road/Grand Junction Road corner. Noth of these intersections are part of the recent new truck ring route, but both have had no regard paid to the massive increase in truck and pasenger car traffic - especially since most are coming/going on the Nexy. But yes, last I heard the idiots in power want to make the exciting RAH site (once demolished) an open park - ffs the city is ringed by parklands .... why not just demolish the existing RAH completely and build the new one there. Imagine how much cheaper it would be not to have to reclaim the train track land and build suspended a concrete slab over it. Insanity. And watch them blow out the budget for it by triple by the time they are done.
  4. Looking good there Abe - so shiny
  5. I had the same issues in my S15 - turned out I had gotten a dirty batch of fuel (from Southern Cross - never again) and it had clogged up the intake sock on the fuel pump 80%, so not enough fuel was getting through. It didn't seem to lean out, but rather hunted and had similar symptoms to yours. Ended up having to replace the fuel pump and remove the fuel tank to have it steam cleaned internally - there was 1cm of gunk/mud in the bottom of my fuel tank! And that was when the car was only about 30,000km old.
  6. Really, you need to post a topic about this? Try Nissan, or best bet is ebay. There are a few on Australian Ebay, but tons on USA Ebay. Got my aftermarket one off USA Ebay for under $200 delivered (bundled with other stuff).
  7. Haha I had a sniff of this bourbon yesterday afternoon - smelled the goods!
  8. You had NEVER been to the Cas before Nick? Wow. Yes, quit while you are ahead is the age old addage. Over time the casino ALWAYS wins .... if you can beat them in the short term, pack up and leave with your winnings.
  9. I reckon Nismo LMGT4s (or copies) look awesome on a black V35 .... but I might just be a bit biased
  10. Being able to service the loan is the key though Pete .... you are in the fortunate position where the prices of properties were so cheap to buy and you could build equity quickly. Nowadays, even if you borrowed $250k to buy a modest rental property, on an interest only basis you are talking repayments of nearly $19k per annum ($365 per week - which it is NEVER going to rent out for that much). Almost no property will return this, let alone all the overheads you also have to pay, which reduces the effective rental income. Then factor in the in every likelyhood there will be NO capital growth for the next 5 years (especially if/when the carbon tax comes in), combined with rising interest rates (which in my opinion will hit 9% due to the carbon tax). Investment properties are great if you earn plenty of coin and can service the debts when interest rates rise, but are a financial deathtrap if you don't have capacity to service the loans. Ash, my advice to you would be to go see a decent financial adviser, or if you want the cheaper option go see someone like Mortgage Choice - they can run ALL of your finiancials through a computer program and calculate a net figure to tell you whether you should be pouring money into your own home or servicing both loans. My attitude (different to Pete) is to concentrate paying off your own home first (like you are doing) - it is your tax free asset, so it is better to be making a loss on your rental interest (which does offset some of the income generated by it), and pumping money into paying off your own home principal. My wife is a chartered accountant and financial adviser, and this is her advice that we go by. But like I said, a decent fincancial adviser can tell you the numbers quick smart.
  11. Has anyone got a hookup of a decent electrician who wants an easy cash job? Just need a couple of indoor plus an outdoor power point put in my brick veneer home.
  12. OMFG. That is all.
  13. That double double pounder is bush league @ $10. I often get 2 McDoubles and put all the patties in one bun - great value for $4. Obviously for $10 you could get 5 x McDoubles (10 patties) and eat it - would be a ton more meat than a pound
  14. Sorry I have to completely disagree there Ryan .... tax benefits are only useful if you have bucketloads of income. And even then, in saving 40% tax, you are still losing 60%. Always better to have an asset fully paid off, no matter what.
  15. Good work there Nick! We used to do that, but with Carolyn off work with little Scarlett and my work being quiet (change of company and quiet market in general) we have backed off to the minimum payments .... I workout out that from our $3k-odd monthly mortgage payment $2,900 or so of that is the interest :(
  16. I like the idea in theory Jin Man, but the concept of paying off a $300k house in 8 years is way off base. Just the loan repayments on say a $280,000k loan are $21,000 per annum, then you want to cut $35,000 off the principal per year also? And don't rely on rent, as on a $300k house you would be lucky to get $300 per week = $15,000 p.a but then you have to take out management fees, repairs, vacancy time - it is not as blue sky as some people make out. You also have to factor in maintenance, legal costs, water rates, land tax etc in all of that too - until you own a house you have absolutely no concept of how much it actually costs to own, run and maintain a home. But hey, aim high - you have nothing to lose. - you definitely have the right idea in concept.
  17. It's on the outside mate .... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nismo-Nissan-wheel-Decal-Sticker-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2eb5f36b6bQQitemZ200621124459QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  18. There are heaps of them on US Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-2006-Infiniti-G35-Coupe-04-05-350Z-Hitch-Class-1-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZModelQ3aG35QQhashZitem3f0ae79a16QQitemZ270765890070QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories And look easy to install - most just bolt to your rear reo bar, and some have an arm that goes back for extra strenth and bolts to the bottom of the spare wheel well (they look more suited to sedans though).
  19. This is the before and after of when I did my headlights fyi
  20. Are you STILL giggling about the bus .... small things amuse small minds, hey Kristian It is truly awesome though - would have been funnier if it had actually washed the woman and the car away a bit more ;D
  21. Yep I was just about to step in and say the same thing as Beer Baron .... take this as a friendly warning w34pongt
  22. Sweet. Did you use a website or videos to show you how to do it? Any tips or rticks? Where did you buy the CCFL kits? So many questions .... I am also considering putting a pair in each rear light to run full time to give me the full hotplates look
  23. ^^^ Nice! Did you do the angel eyes yourself? I am keen on doing it, but am still a bit apprehensive.
  24. Used this stuff on my V35 headlights and they came up like brand new http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-GTR-R33-R34-V35-S15-Skyline-Silvia-Headlight-fix-/220811068211?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33695d8333 I thought I had cloudiness on the inside too, but it was 90% on the outside.
