ah fair enough - I could almost justify $360 with free speakers .... but $599 is INSANE for a steering wheel!
-
I only just read this reply of yours Steve .... I am definitely not having a dig .... but I find it amazing that guys like you buy a $599 steering wheels - something I could NEVER justify/afford to buy - that amount of money for a toy steering wheel just blows me away.

Was thinking about my dyno run figured out the answer - mine is an auto. I think you would expect a 10% difference between auto and manuals .... mind you would still like to see some stock auto dynos of other V35s to compare.

I got the rear lip spoiler off USA Ebay - cheap as chips and painted the KH3 proper factory colour http://cgi.ebay.com/PAINTED-INFINITI-G35-G...=item2a0a8391ab Regarding the power, there are dynos, and there are dynos. At Willall Racing, which has a Mainline dyno and is know to be conservative, I made 146rwkw 6 months ago. Then on the weekend on another Mainline dyno at the show I made 148.6. Most dyno is Aus are Dyno Dynamics, and are known to be a bit generous with their readings. There is also a ramp up and Z factor that the operator uses when dynoing a car, and if these are not absolutely identical from dyno to dyno then the figures will be different. You really need to have car on the same dyno on the the same day to compare cars. when we recently had a dyno day at Willalls some of the guys making decent power in their R32GTRs (350rwkw) were varying by up to 30rwkw between the dyno the car was tuned on (DD) and Willalls dyno (Mainline). My mechanical mods comprise a stainless Greddy copy axle back exhaust, HKS panel filter, Carbon fibre Z-Tube and that is all, so she is pretty stock. Am fitting a Kinetix plenum cover and polishing my upper collector shortly, then will get rid of the very restricive centre muffler and fit a Y-pipe I have in the garage waiting to go on. I really want to get another V35 on the dyno the same day as mine, and will arrange that in the near future for reference. I also noted on my dyno printout that my afrs went down under 11.5:1 at peak power, so she is running pretty rich. I have an SAFCII sitting in the shed that I will get around to fitting in the near future to clean up the map a bit. I might make a new thread with my dyno printout and get everyone else to put theirs up to compare. Interestingly the torque maxed out very early and fell right away as it made more power - not sure if this is normal or not.

^^^ and I should add that the V35 is my daily/work car (I am a property valuer) and I did a 750km round trip from Adelaide to Marion Bay and back (including 100km of dirt roads) the day before the above photos were taken .... and did a similar Yorke Peninsular trip the week before covering just under 650km round trip. Amazingly comfortable car to drive and handles the nasty country roads at 120km/h with ease.

Some of mine from the Extreme Horsepower show here in Adelaide last weekend .... and I picked up the "Highest horsepower 6cyl n/a" trophy for my 148.6rwkw dyno run. More pics of my car and various cars in the show here (click)

Well I got pissed off that Fallout: New Vegas stopped working on my PC, so decided to format. Added my 2nd SSD in RAID0 and reinstalled win7. Damn it's nice to have a clean install! And my New Vegas works now wooooooooooooooooooooooo

I used www.comgateway.com to ship my brakes Steve - were VERY easy to get along with and have much cheaper shipping than I could find anywhere else - $24 for the 1st 0.5kg and $4 per 0.5 thereafter .... so a 4kg box only costs $52 for example. But the beauty is you can buy from various retailers and send them all to 'your'/their Oregon address and they repacked them all up into 1 shipment and save you heaps. When I buy my plenum spacer for the V35 it is light but big (so gets charged volumetrically instead of by weight) - so everything else they squeeze into that box (up to the appropriate volumetric weight) will be free shipping.

BASTARDO!!!!!!!

f**k me if Fallout: New Vegas isn't the most frustrating game ever! Been waiting for the game for a year + - bought it yesterday retail, installed it and it is all working perfectly. Played 2 hours, quit out, do some work, then play again later for another 3 hours. Late last night start up the game to play some more and go to load my last save, and when it loads the game crashed to desktop and says "FalloutNV has stopped working" and that is it. Many people all over the net (not all) are having the same problem. I have tried a shit-ton of different things and none of them have worked. Dying to play more of this awesome game (which has already been patched twice since it came out a few days ago), but it doesn't work. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrating.

^^^ VERY nice ride mate! I fitted Brembos, StopTech 330mm floating rotors and ProjectMu pads yesterday .... HUGE upgrade from the crappy brakes it had before (it is an 03 Premium auto, so had no Brembos).

If I see any more bumping of parts your thread will be deleted and you will get an official warning. Stop it already.

I am dead keen for this Vu (as I said on FB), BUT next weekend is EHP and I believe we are setting up the SAU display Friday night. I was also considering going to HQ to see Pendulum play. Decision, decisions.

I found the DS2500s to be lacking when cold on my R34, but once warmed up a bit were fantastic. HIGHLY dusty though.
-
I would rather you dig up an old relevant thread, than start a new one (like most people), so well done. I recommend QFM pads and plenty of people here do too. Good performance, great price and basically dust free. The HPX are for normal road use, and the A1RM are for track, but wear out quicker since they are softer.

That is bad .... people who drive around without full comp insurance should be freaking shot. Hope it works out for you and you can claim on your insurance.
-
Damn that sucks .... not the Ken Style .... on the upside looks like they didn't get your rear quarter panel, tail light nor exhaust tip!

yep I do like the Noctua fans, but no-one here in Adelaide seems to stick them anymore. I have a few Thermaltake 120mm fans in my case and they are basically silent and move heaps of air. I am also going to chuck a 220mm Antec Bad Boy on the side of my case - 127cfm @ 900rpm.
-
Yep I will be switching the direction of the fan around and will be adding a 2nd 120mm pull fan on the inside, exactly per your suggestion! I had come to the same conclusion too. Can you help me with the maths though as to how much benefit a 2nd fan will be? It seems on one hand that the air flow is limited by the speed of the existing fan, but then it also seems like they might 'gang up' and pull the air faster. Does anyone know enough about this figure it out?

I am - that is what the Coolit ALC is - but it is not here yet. But after I posted that I actually thought about it some more and got down and looked in my case next to my desk. Turns out I had accidentally disconnected my rear 120mm fan, so the CPU fan was amping up trying to keep the CPU cool (only the 80mm inlet fan was working). And my chipsets have copper heat fins and tubing, with no active cooling - so they were darn hot too (motherboard temp has gone from 50 degrees to 38 degrees by switching on the rear 120mm fan and adding another 120mm fan blowing on the CPU/chipset area). Silly me. Now using Easy Tune6 my CPU temp is 34 degrees and my CPU fan is only running at 3,300prm. Much better the horrible whirring noise has gone. And it was my fault all along

Well I am super impressed with my new 965 running at 4Ghz. Haven't even done my SSD raid and install yet, but performance even on the old setup is pretty impressive. What I can't stand is the fan noise. Stock heatsink (which has nice copper base and heatpipe cooling) and a fan on auto. ZOMFG it is noisy! I can't stand it - I wonder how people put up with it. Hopefully my CoolIT closed loop/radiator cooling system arrives tomorrow so I can shut the thing up. My brother-in-law's is basically silent. Who here is still running a stock cooler, and how do you put up with the constant whirring?

Batty my old man has a petrol post hole digger you can borrow.

Dave, opinionated? Nooooooooooooooooooooo Me, sarcastic? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo

What are your PC stats Pete?

Well I bit the bullet and bought an AMD x4 965 black edition and 60Gb Patriot Inferno SSD today. I just whacked in the 965 to see what it could do and have o/c'd it from 3.4 to 3.8Ghz with the stock cooler and it is stable as. Just ran 3DMark06 and it made 19,348. BUT CPU-Z says that my video card is only running at 400Mhz/1,000Mhz, whereas it should be 750/1,500 from memory. I tried to uninstall all the Catalyst/AMD drivers that Madaz and Ben advised me, but the whole Catalyst suite ended up crapping itself, and now when I load win7 it comes up with a 'Catalyst is not responding' error and it will not run at all. I think that has something to do with it. I have also ordered a CoolIt Domino ALC and a Corsair DOMINATOR AIRFLOW Fan. Go google both of these - the CoolIT is an awesome piece of machinery - I put one in my brother-in-law's machine last week and not only is it silent, but he hasn't seen over 40 degrees under load on his stock X4 955 CPU. So on the weekend (assuming they come by then) I will fit the CoolIT ALC and Dominator cooling rigs, raid my new Inferno with my Falcon 2, and reinstall. I will post up my 3DMark06 when I am done, but I hope it will be better than 20k. I did the windows rating thing Ben and made 7.4, 7.4, 7.7, 7.7, 7.1 .... will be interesting to see what score Windows gives 2 raided SSDs - I assume 7.9. When I have the CoolIT ALC fitted I will pump up the CPU to 4.2Ghz if it will take it (I am hoping it will go to 20 x 210Mhz - is currently running at 19 x 200Mhz 1.45v), so will see what score it comes up with then too.
