Chad, I am told the V35 rears fit R32/33/34 ... you could ask him the width between the bolt holes and offset from pads to the disk. Worth a try if you can't find any locally. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350z-g35-re...sQ5fAccessories

What time did you leave? I got there at 7:50pm (got held up by various things) and within 10 minutes Blazk, RubyRS4, jrm, MattyT, Luke_ENR34 and HESLOS+1 + gf had rocked up. Good times.

I will be heading down around 7/7:30pm and will have the progeny in tow, since I am 'babysitting' tonight. And so you can ID me Pierre, I will be wearing my NissanSilvia.com Skyline jumper - black with Skylines all over it.

Steve, sadly my 3DMark06 only made 10,800. My CPU is only a Phenom 9500, which despite being not too dissimilar in performance according to the benchmaking websites, falls WAY short of the Q66000 in 3DMark06. I also have a strong feeling that for some reason my Win7 is really not liking the 5850 after I pulled out the 4850. I played SCII last night and went into a big battle and the card came to a crawl at 1fps - this should not happen no matter what with a 5850. Might be time for me to upgrade my system AND do a fresh install. My mobo will take a Phenom 955, which is only $159, so is a great bang for buck upgrade.Or for $213 I could go a 6 core 1055T - but not sure how much (if any software) will utilise all 6 cores correctly. My brother-in-law has just purchased 2 x hybrid 500Gb drives for around $170 each. He is going to raid them for his system. I might do the same, as my SSD is so small I can't store my Win7 + programs + Steam on it - which is what I really need to do to improve hard drive performance. The fact that my Win7 loads off the SSD in half the time if I disconnect my data drives indicates they are slowing the system down to a point where the SSD is almost redundant. Anyone want to buy a GSkill Falcon II 64Gb SSD?

Glad to hear it (sort of) worked out for you Rodney. You don't want to sell the GTR seats by any chance do you - or did the crooks filth them up?
-
yeah 2 4850s would be ace - but 1 5850 is even better .... only reason I upgraded is that in huge 8 player battles in StarCraft 2 it would drop to 20 fps, which is needless to say unacceptable. Was fine in all other scenarios in SC2 though - even at 1920x1200 which I run all games in.
-
Yeah that is what I was originally going to do, but my 2nd PCI-e slot only works at 8x, plus Fallout New Vegas comes out in a month and I want to play it in Dx11.

Any gamers out there want a kick-ass budget-priced video card? I have just upgraded to a 5850 so this baby has to go. Details here: http://www.hisdigital.com/un/product2-30.shtml This is THE 4850 card - rated as the best of its generation with dual heat pipes, silent fans and very high/stable performance. NEVER overclocked in any variety, and was run in a system full of cooling fans and temperature control - this card ALWAYS ran very cool - even in warm weather under heavy gaming load. Comes in original box with original manual, unused sticker, Crossfire bridge and power adapter. Does not have driver CD (always used the latest Catalyst drivers off the net anyhow) nor any DVI/VGA/HDMI adapters (big deal). Has 2 DVI ports (and an S-Video) on the back of the card fyi. $150

I used to have a slipstreamed NLite install for Vista/XP, but haven't kept up with it due to how often programs update and change - I was having to build one just about every time I did a software install DVD so I canned it. I now just dump all the install programs to the desktop after install and do them one by one. I keep that DVDRW updated with all my latest software and it does the job. I have just downloaded ninite - but I assume you have to fresh download each piece of software every time you use it - that sucks. Is there any way to cache all the programs into one bit batch file? Yeah Steve all the Windows updates (with reboots and re-scans inbetween) take time - as does the Symantec Antivirus I use - over 100Mb of updates every install! I have tried the developer update installs but they never work for some reason.

I used to charge $100 but put it up recently. It takes 5 hours or more work to do my install. Standard programs I install include: Win7 Office 2007 PSP9 Nero7 Zoom Player Symantec Antivirus SpyBot Search & Destroy AdAware 2008 Quicktime/ITunes Firefox Thunderbird CCC Codecs DivX Plus DVDRegionFree CloneDVD5 TuneUp2010 PowerDVD9 and a few other things. All shareware/trial versions unless the owner has license details of course. As you can see, this is not a 5 minute job and even charging $150 is quite insane imho given this will get you less then 1.5 hours work done on your car. Also, it is worth noting $150 is for my existing clients and new clients I charge $200 until I build a relationship with them or they have bought decent hardware off me.

Not bad at all Abe. I got a decent pickup the other week too - an old customer rings me and says he just got some laptops (as payment for a tiling job he did for one of his clients) and needs them configured. I tell him no worries and they will cost $150 each to do a full wipe, and everything reinstall. He drops off 3 as new Dell 1420 Laptops (dual core, 2Gb ram, 160Gb HDDs etc). I do the 3 install/configures and when he comes to pick them up he offers me to keep one of them in lieu of payment. Of course I say yes. I have already sold it for $820 (they cost $2100 new around 2 years ago). So effectively I was paid $820 cash in hand for around 15 hours labour

Yep the Vertex 2 isn't bad. I have the similar Falcon 2 in my rig. Big problem is for any gamers is that 60Gb is WAY too small to keep your Win and games on (my Steam directory alone is 80Gb), so you end up putting your games directory on a 2nd drive which all but 100% negates any speed benefit of an SSD. TBH my preference in hindsight would be to raid 3 x 1Tb drives together (for similar money of 1 x 60Gb SSD), and have a 4th 2Tb drive for all the important docs/data whatever in case the array ever fails. Even better you can keep everything - your Win, games and data on the array and backup any important data to the 4th drive and you are set.

PM me what you want it changed to and I will make it so -
My V35 has VERY bad road noise depending what tyres are on the car. I got rid of some Bridgestones because I couldn't put up with the noise. My feeling is that V35s do not have very good (if any) sound deadening in the floor. I intend to buy some Dynamat style padding and pull out the seats/carpets and put much more deadening in. If you are interested in doing this to your V35 too PM me and I will get you in on my buy of the Dynamat style product from the USA when I order it in coming months.

I don't believe the stud pattern and offset to be common between Supra and V35.

Glad to hear it is all over Rodney, and I am actually glad too it is a write-off. Who knows how long it would have taken to fix, and it would NEVER have been the same car again. My only hope is they found some blood in the car meaning the scumbags hurt themselves in the accident (and for DNA evidence). Hope the insurance company are very kind to you and you get an excellent payout! You are lucky that the car market is so terrible at the moment - there are some really nice cars out there for VERY cheap prices, so happy shopping!

^^ Absolutely beautiful graphics detail! Looks like a cool game, but I wonder how quickly one would get bored of it?

Anyone keen on seeing Powderfinger in their farewell tour this Thursday night at Memorial Drive? I have 2 tickets for sale at what they cost me (which is considerably lower than what they are being scalped for about the place) $110 each. Wife is unwell and I don't fancy going on my own.
-
^^^ How about you don't try to steal my sale Luke

Damo I have an excellent condition stock Series 3 R33GTR intercooler here for sale. What's it worth to you?
-
You almost never have to shop your studs, as almost every rim ever made has a concave hole between the stud holes of the wheels - so once you install the bolt-in spacers the bit of stud sticking up goes into the recess in the back of the wheel and it doesn't matter. Another way to explain it is to turn over any rim you have laying around and see that the inner face of the rim that touches your wheel hub is not flat, but has cutouts inbetween where the holes are drilled. Hard to explain.

Where did you get the eyelids from and how much?

I know this was said in anger and you have since retracted it, but I make some fair points, you have to agree. Cars keep going missing and they all have no alarms. There is no excuse. And fyi (and for those criminals out there possibly reading this), I have a pager alarm with every sensor under the sun, 2 kill switches, Club lock, and if I am parking it anywhere remotely risky will pull some fuses the car can't start without. So if they want my car that badly and can get past all those things, then they are welcome to it. And if you had a pager alarm (like myself and many members on here) then you don't need to be in earshot to hear your alarm going off. I have been parked at Munno Para shops and bolted outside due to my pager going off to see some shady characters near my car. I sincerely hope your car turns up and these lowlifes get exactly what they deserve - and that is the next 10 years in a cell with Big Bubba. Or even better we get tipped off and can deal with them ourselves without involving the police.
