  1. ^^^ I assume you mean 5 seconds to post Abe?! Yeah Ben a mate in Brisvegas has 3 x 128Gb SSDs raided believe it or not .... simply awesome, so I am told.
  2. Well I have bitten the bullet and bought a 64Gb GSKill Falcon SSD for my old Phenom 9500 rig and put Windows 7 on ..... have to say I am pretty impressed - she certainly moves ok now! Also picked up another 1.5Tb HDD to add to my 4Tb already .... should sort out my storage woes for a little while ....
  3. I have bought a Pac SWI-X from Chris which has an IR eye and you can train each button on the oem steering wheel controls to do anything you want. Haven't got around to fitting it yet - Brand and I had a go a little while back but rang out of time. FYI I also have the steering wheel cruise controls fitted - works a treat!
  4. Yeah we had a look at putting the old dual control button onto the new one .... internet instructions seemed simple enough - in real life it is a pita job (and a reasonably high chance of toasting the board - it is very small and fidgety job). FYI I hadn't used the dual climate function before I did the conversion, and haven't missed it since. We never use it in the wife's CRV either. Wank factor I reckon.
  5. In order to install an after-market stereo you need to buy the double din trim piece, and the Nissan climate control unit (the oem one is integrated in the stereo). Like I did.
  6. Have you checked the 'defected' thread stickied in the SA section? That will give you a lot of experiences.
  7. Unfortunately they will most likely notice if it has height adjustable suspension/coilovers, so you might want to think about putting the stockers back in for the inspection. You will also need to not only remove the boost control unit in the cabin, but also the solenoid and wiring in the engine bay - all of the inspectors are switched onto and trained in the signs. Remember too, if they catch you for ONE thing illegal/unroadworthy, then they will send you for a FULL inspection, and then you're toast - they even check turbo serial numbers are genuine Nissan items, believe it or not. But hey, you might be completely fine and get away with it, like many people have said on here. I would just hate to see the worst happen and you not be aware of what CAN happen.
  8. You might get lucky, you might not. When I transferred my V35 from NSW to SA rego 8 months ago he had a very good look at the car, and if there was anything remotely unroadworthy he told me he would have sent me a for a full inspection. So still, my point is that I wouldn't buy an interstate modified car, as if you did get pulled up for a full inspection the turbo would have to come off and all sorts of other issues would need to be addressed. Others may be willing to take the risk, I am not. All I am saying.
  9. Nope, forget it. Their fears are well founded. The car WILL have to go to Regency Park for an ID check, and they have a very good look over it while it is there. They may get lucky and get an inspector that either doesn't look hard or know what to look for, but chances are as soon as they see it is a Skyline, they will send over their specialist import officer and after that the car would basically need to be returned to stock to get it through. I wouldn't be buying an interstate modified car, that is for sure.
  10. yep, system restore is the FIRST place a virus places itself .... it is completely useless in the case of a virus. In fact, I turn it off on ALL of my client's computers
  11. Sorry, but you are super toast. I have never been able to get rid of that virus .... I assume it is also called "Internet security" and has a little Vista style shield with the 4 windows colours in it? I have had a heap of clients get this virus AND put in their credit card details .... idiots. But each time I think I have got rid of the virus, when you reboot it comes back. Pray you haven't got any data you actually need on your hard drive, and nuke it is my advice. If you have data you desperately need, do as Steve says and reboot in safe mode, clean what you can, then reboot in normal mode, back up your data onto a flash drive (NOT dvd as the next computer wont' be able to clean it with it's own antivirus), and then nuke your drive and go from there.
  12. Sucks to hear David. You just can't catch a break! If it is any help whatsoever, I have access to a 110,000km Series 3 R33GTR engine for sale for 4k in perfect running order. Not sure how long Fox would take to get your engine done and back to you, but if you want to get your car up and running in the meantime this engine has been very well looked after its whole life, and is only being replaced due to a right priced brand spanking new Vspec Nur engine being available
  13. Thanks mate - looks a heap better with wheels and coilovers on, than when you last saw it! I freaking love your V36 btw Pics were taken at Mallala - we had an SAU club track day a few weeks back, and she also hit the track when I had only her 3 weeks last September. 260awkw R33GTRs with goodies were doing 1:24s, so I was stoked that the V35 did consistent 1:30. We had 3 R35GTRs out on the track at once - was amazing! The Willall R35GTR was doing mid 12s, as was Munro's R33GTR (ex Australian drag record holding car) - times that are truly amazing - considering it is as fast as Million Dollar V8 supercars go around there.
  14. Awesome Rianto! I have been looking at these for a while - found a retailer in the USA that stocks the for US$380 on their website, but they haven't replied to multiple emails asking for shipping cost to me here in SA. How much did you pay, out of interest? PM me if you don't want it public.

  16. Can't believe you are considering selling your baby Pete Definitely +1 for a deal with Christian - if he can source you a killer 260RS Stag (why not have RB26DETT GTR power while you're at it) for a swap you would be on easy street methinks. Especially if he could be lucky enough to find one in Bayside Blue (not sure if the 260RS actually came in BB though) .... very nice.
  17. ^^^ upgraded sway bars are without doubt the best bang for buck handling mod on a V35, but if you are happy with the stock ride height then you are from outer space, and you probably also like the +30 offset on the stock 8" wide rims ... ewwwwwwwwwwwww For my mind, the 7cm gap between the front/rear tyres and wheel arches are completely unacceptable, and more in keeping with a 4wd off-road vehicle.
  18. If you trusted them to start work on your car, let them finish the work. If you take it anywhere else you are going to get absolutely raped price-wise, as it is not their project.
  19. Yeah Shane, Martin and I were chatting about this the other week .... they said you basically need $5k for the 10-14 day trip they are running. Even makes it a bit of a stretch for me since I would need 2 weeks off work (unpaid since I am a contractor), which then effectively costs me $5k on top BUT Nismo, Tomei, HKS, Tokyo Autosalon and every other cool garage under the sun .... drool.
  20. Mine most certainly weren't done at compliance (pads nor rotors), as my pads are pretty shagged and my rotors are rooted at 60,000km with massive lips. ALL of the V35s I had looked at for sale at dealers in Sydney (that were all fresh imports) had massively lipped rotors, which was at odds at the reported 25,000km or so that each supposedly had.
  21. Fark it is too .... minor mis-assumption on my part .... I am not as smart as I thought I was Yes the soundtrack is killer - plenty of Prodigy in there too .... the movie is surprisingly of modern production style too, given how old it is. To be honest out of all the movies being remade at the moment, I reckon a remake of Hackers in full-on Matrix style futuristic sequencing would be unbelievable with today's technology.
  22. And on an unrelated note, I just finished watching Hackers (again). Despite the glaring computer technical issues, is a VERY cool movie. How we survived the fashion of the 80's though, I will never know.
  23. The Norwegian in the yellow house owns the fish. Took me a little while to nut it out, but got there in the end Does that really mean I am in the top 2% of intelligent people in the world? The problem didn't seem THAT hard.
  24. Nope - cruise is scheduled to leave the designated meet-spot at 6:30am for arrival at Hahndorf around 8:30am (which is the time the German Arms opens for breakfast).
  25. Breakfast is all booked at the German Arms .... they are emailing me a menu today (as it has changed but not been updated on their website). I will post the menu up as soon as I have it.
