Just for reference - the car is a 32 GTR, RB26 running PFC djetro I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is (or do I?). I just wanna know if I can correct it easily. So the story goes.......car runs perfectly, then after I changed to a "bling" clear timing belt cover > it stutters as soon as I hit the throttle - and then it revs as normal after that. So I assume I have done something to the CAS - despite being pretty careful putting it back on the way it came off So am I right in assuming this is the problem and if so how can I correct it? Is it something I can monitor on the hand controller and then adjust? Yes I am a goose. Now that we are over that, can you help Cheers.

Well I had to do just that. Pulled the strut out just now and will take the top hat to go get a few tac welds tomorrow. Pretty easy fix after all. Thanks for the help guys.

OK cool. So just rip the wheel off and I can get to it easily? Just want to know before I get under there. As you have probably figured out I am a bit of a novice

Hey guys need some advice. One of the nuts holding the strut brace down just spins the whole bolt, making it impossible to remove it. Hope I am describing this properly. Tried the easy things like spraying a bit of CRC etc but no luck. Is there a way I can access this bolt from underneath to hold it? It has Tien coilovers if that makes a difference. How would I go about this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers, Tay

Painting and Powder coating rocker covers
taynewguy replied to maximumrpm's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
nope - but i degreased, sanded and prepsoled before applying the base coat. just make sure you apply an even coat (sufficently thick) of the undercoat as any dark areas (i.e. where you can see some black showing through) will be obvious when you apply the colour. -

Alright, I got it back - it was a piddly little hose under the plenum towards the back which had a tiny little hole in it. Plenum did not need to come out. It was accessed from underneath with some difficulty I hear. Few things had to be removed in the process. But hey its done, once again a no fuss job done by the boys at hyperdrive.
-
No haven't got the car back yet. When they pressured it up we had a steady stream of fluid flowing from under the plenum towards the back of the motor. Pin-pointed the hoses by the sounds of it and they'll attemp to get at it today (when hoses arrive) by dropping the starter motor. Should have it back today - I'll keep you posted.
-
I may well be getting raped by my GTR as we speak - damn. If the plenum has to come off I will cry. Had a sh!t week with bad traders and the like......some days I wish I never owned a GTR.
-
Yeah I get this sorted - taking it in on Wednesday. I'll update this thread after that. Fingers crossed it's not too expensive.

has not been received as stated in many messages nor have you supplied the tracking number as you said you would mate - can't blame me for getting a little pised off. you haven't followed through with anything we agreed upon up to this point.
-
Nothing I can see though - which guarantees it's gonna be a bastard to get to right? Hmmm under the plenum maybe......will have another look. Better off taking to a workshop so they can get to it with a hoist? I don't have the time to be messing with this thing. Estimate on hours x $80!!! Man this car is starting to give me the sh!ts - asthetically and mechanically spot on but the little niggly things drive me nuts. Leaks left right and centre.
-
Recently noticed a small pool of coolant under the car everytime I park it - it drips down from near the gearbox but originates from somehwere above that from what I can see i.e. at the rear of the engine/firewall somewhere???? I've been under the bonnet, under the car, everywhere but I cannot pin point where the fluid is coming from. It is a reasonably small leak but it is getting worse. Luckily it hasn't lost enough fluid to overheat just yet so I've just topped it up for the time being. Any ideas where it might be coming from? Cheers, Tay

Painting and Powder coating rocker covers
taynewguy replied to maximumrpm's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Rocker cover gaskets are rubber (pretty robust) and sit inside a groove in the cover itself. You shouldn't need to replace them. -
Hmm what's happening with this Carlo? Money sent and all arranged but now you don't answer your phone for a couple of days?? Pretty poor communication on this mate. Just want to know what's happening.

Here's a pic of the duplicolor red > cam covers, apexi pod adapters, and a few other bits. Also did the OEM strut brace - no more faded red (yay). nice chrome strut brace would be nicer but hey - gotta work with what you've got. Just the coil pack cover to come and then I'll bolt it back on. knowing me I will scratch the sh!t out of them putting it back on and have to start again Cheers, Tay -
awesome - I'll take it mate.

Painting and Powder coating rocker covers
taynewguy replied to maximumrpm's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
An old thread I know - but I just wanted to warn everyone about the Dupli-Colour metalcast (anodize) colours!!! I too have experienced the very dull appearance of the blue one. If only I read this thread earlier. Followed every instruction to a tee and had all surfaces preped perfectly (with undercoat etc). It looked like shlt - dull as, not even a metallic look to it. But I do not think it is limited to the blue one as I have heard of a few others turning out dull - bad batches?? As I am a sucker for punishment, I gave it another go using red this time and it turned out perfect. Ironically blue was probably a poor colour choice in the first place as red looks the goods. Anyway - if I had my time again I would go the powdercoat route - prolly works out cheaper!! -
Hey, as the topic says I'm after a coilpack cover for and RB26. To suit my '89 R32 GTR - although they are all the same right? Thanks in advance, Tay
