  1. Hi - after a R32 GTR Conatct me on - 0418 947629 Cheers, Steve
  2. Hi

    Hope u can help...

Have tried to advertise my 6.5 TME in WA for sale section for 3 days,(looking for a R32 GTR) but still is not listed. Can u point me inthe right direction. Ta Steve

  4. Thanks. So - according to above, gearbox removal is irrelevent to sump replacment/modification?
  5. Thanks for replies so far - but can the sump be extended/replaced with the above mentioned products/extensions without removing the engine or gearbox? or can it just be done removing the gearbox? (As mentioned previously, have to replace clutch, so will also modify/replace sump if it can be done with just the gearbox out). If can be done without removing either - happy days..........I will get it done later, and just replace the clutch now. (nothing more frustrating then having a GTR with a slipping clutch!) Cheers
  6. Have a slipping clutch in a standard R32GTR. Planning to replace with a heavy duty single plate next week - (for future 300 RWKW/circuit work). Was also going to get a larger/extended etc sump installed in the new year. Question: Is it more economical to get them installed at the same time? Can the sump be installed with only the removal of the gearbox? or does the engine have to come out? Also, which aftermarket sump is recommended? Tomei? Trust? (extension?) (baffeled?) Where to purchase in WA? Cheers
  7. Very nice............. But you might have to borrow me some cash..........
  8. New - so the following questions might be basic to most of you. What is a RB26 N1 block? Where do you source them from? What do they cost? What is the difference in price to a standard RB26 block. Reason - Want to prepare a block, so car is not off the road for long when I am ready to replace the bottom end (which according to everyone is only a matter of time, if I track the car (R32GTR) without oil supply upgrades). Confused! So what $$ are involved to put together a strong bottom end, not over the top, just a reliable combo that can handle up to approx 350 - 380 RWKW: Option 1 Build a standard RB26 = $ Option 2 Build up a N1 block (or can they be purchased as a complete "crate" bottom end from Japan?) = $ Option 3 Build a RB30 block (have a VL sitting in the shed - so free!) = $ Look forward to the replies/advise Steve.
  9. Its a buyers market. Shop hard - have the dollars ready, and you will find the right car at the right price -either privately (cheap) or from a dealer (with warranty etc). I was looking for about 3-4 weeks (through August) and finally found a original, unmodified "mint" R32 GTR - in the Quokka!! - for just under $14K. The are not alot of R32 GTR's currently on the market, but heaps in the Eastern States (view carsales) - I was almost heading there...... Importing one car privately - is not worth the pain and puss, and there is no real $$ gain when importing cheaper cars (ie under $50K) Steve.
  10. Thanks everyone for advise and info. Gav - Tried to PM but "have not got enough post counts" whatever that means? My daytime email is [email protected] MOB: 0418 947629 It would be fantastic if you could contact me because I have a heap of questions. The car is going to be set up for parttime circuit work, so I want get it right first up. Thanks, Steve.
  11. OK - I can give you my recent experience with both makes. New to Skylines, and the forum. 12mths ago I purchased a 03 STI (with medium mods) - sold it within 3 mths! Noisy. Slow, if not on boost. No torque. Front torque steer under power. understeer. It was like driving a highly strung race car on the street, which needed the crap revved out of it to have any fun. - very annoying. 3 weeks ago I purchased a R32 GTR - stock standard. I love it. I have had plenty of performance cars, currently race a 4cyl Alfa in Historic Touring cars, (I am 45 yrs young), and the GTR is a serious car. It is the real deal when it comes to serious performance cars. I also considered a EVO, but same issues as above with the WRX(to buzzy/rice burner type of thing. In the end I really wanted a super/muscle car. A make/model with race history, something original and to hang on to long term. I could have spent $40 - $60K on Aussie muscle, but in the end spent $14K!! on a true performance (race) car. When driven at full tilt, the GTR is a more capable/satisfying/mind blowing/enjoyable experience. Being from the old school/V8 type back ground, the best way to sum it up is that the GTR is more like a cross over between Aussie muscle with Jap hightech, - if you know what I mean......even my HSV/FPV mates rate it highly - surprise, surprise!! If you want a "sporty" car - maybe a WRX (but go EVO) If you want a true supercar (a legend) - go GTR Thats it, now I'm off for a drive along the coast in my new toy, and then maybe give it a wax, and just stand back and admire. (never felt doing that with the STI) Steve.
  12. Thanks for replies so far. Any more tracked cars that have not had the major mods? Can the sump baffle or extension be fitted without removing engine? What sort of $$ for parts and labour (approx) to complete above. Thanks, Steve.
  13. Hi, New to forum and Skylines. I know this issue has been covered many times before, but the more I read - the more I get confused/frustrated/annoyed..... Recently purchased a R32 GTR. Car is going to see some track work (ie sprint events @ Barbagallo). Rspec tyres, decent brakes etc. Car stock, but soon doing the basic "first" stage upgrade ie; turbos/injectors/pump/PWR FC/boost control. Engine compression and leakage test excellent. The $1M question is: Can any mods to rectify the common oil surge/supply issue be carried out, without removing engine? or removing head? Have been suggested a band aid fix like running more oil, keeping revs to under 7000, and installing a big quality oil pressure gauge/light (and keeping your eyes glued to it!) etc. Don't want to go to the huge expense of ripping the engine out to carry out the mods, just so I can do some sprint laps at the track. But also don't want carry out the above performance upgrades and then lunch a engine and start again. Or am I stuffed - and HAVE to spend the $$. Any ideas/clues or experience with this problem, please reply. Cheers, Steve.
  14. Sleeping in it...........although I love the shape of the R32, my wife still just gets over the line...............just Steve.
