We like trying to diagnose our aircons. Seriously I'm interested in how much imported R34 GTRs would cost.

Some say that dobbing is not effective because: - we're not qualified to take matters into our own hands - we cannot verify that the driver/car in question had the intention to offend - sounds like a long, roundabout and time consuming process involving a lot of verification on your part - you will stress yourself out eyeballing every car out there - its not our job On the other hand, if the offender is really creating damage and danger to others then absolutely call the Police as you would if you saw a house on fire or someone lying on the side of the road.

Of course it's the driver, without a car he can't kill himself or other people, but would the story have been different if they were driving a Ford Focus? (don't say RS). I can understand where birds is coming from too, Singapore is one of the world's strictest country, you can't even bring chewing gum into the country, but it works, and you know what they don't miss it either lol I have seen a number off JDM cars there too, bunch of ballers I hate them all. Anyway they were talking about regulators today, would be an incredibly expensive proposition but just remember electric cars are just around the corner, you'll never know.

Follow the instructions from the image attachments in that thread. I'm trying to figure out what the status on my screen means.

I've tried ebay, no luck, but I've found something similar for the leather boots. Still looking for a handle though.

For GTRs my personal opinion is the R34. Nissan studied what they did wrong with the R33 (too heavy, less GTR appeal) and tried to make a car that was closer to the R32. Remember at the time the NSX was out and was technically a superior car to the R32 and R33. Nissan had to come out with something better and the R34 was the end result. Next is the R32. It just looks better than the R33, lighter and tossier. The muscular lines is what started the GTR appeal in my opinion, the R33 had less of it which looked more like a Falcon or Telstar. The R34 took aggresive styling to another level. I have less knowledge of the R31. I watched them raced in Group A racing in Australia with George Fury at the wheel and enjoyed watching the blue/white/red cars take on the locals (which they did very well). I think that was when I became a fan. When Godzilla came it was like the missing link of Australian motoring. That was how significant the R32 was. It seems that I'm not a fan of the R33 because of the styling. I think dark colours like black or midnight purple with offset rims suits them best.

On the radio this afternoon I heard they were doing 165km/h.

Did I read 19th Jan? Was this planned before or today??? I'll be there, really want to see some R32s.

Unless you know you skills are deteriorating I don't know if this would really benefit the general public. Its true that psychological state changes over time, some people may not be as sharp as they were used to due to stress, eyesight etc. It could be the reason why 40-60 year olds make up the second largest casualties in national road toll, but then they could also make up most of the Australia population. Great idea if there is some kind of limiter for normal streets if a GPS system comes in to play as someone said. Is there a way to turn off people's mobile phones as well while driving? This is also driving me nuts.

What would you suggest to the Police to change the mentality of these drivers? I remembered a nice blue R34 GTR cut in half by the owner's son who killed not only himself but his friends in a very similar fashion. I also remembered my late brother stacking my car without permission. It would have killed him and his mate if it wasn't for the roll cage I had in that car. See any similarities? They were all P platers driving cars beyond their experiences.

I have read and downloaded the attachments, I'm not sure what sunload sensor is or whether that is a problem.

Terry the conditions listed is pretty exhaustive and I do agree that some pysch test would be a useful assessment as part of the driving test. I'd rather keep things simple and straightfoward without making a qualification to drive a highly costly procedure, the standard driving lessons and tests should cover anyone's competence in driving anyway. Here's what I would consider: - Greater restrictions on cars for P platers (use k/w rules) - Repeated offenders or incident cases should re-sit specific tests including pysch assessments that may require consultations with therapists or counsellors - No P platers after 1am (if someone has to drive get someone older) I'm in for advanced driving lessons as long as the emphasis is on safety not just handling (ie. driving slowly on wet conditions, stop if tired, ensure tyres and lights are all working, basic car maintenance etc), otherwise it'll just be another cert for being a track racer. This should already be covered while learning to drive anyway and shouldn't have to cost the rest of us even more money just to get a licence. As must as we complain/hate it, the current road system should be credited for the decline of road accidents every year: http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/saf...009/rsr_04.aspx Still 1400 casualties too many and of course we cannot help cases where people die while driving (health reasons like heart attack etc) but its still better than what it used to be. 30km/h school zone - effective (stop killing pedestrians), road humps in suburban areas - effective (I read that 60-70% of accidents occur in less than 5km from one's home or work place), p/w restrictions - effective to some point. Lastly, when someone brings up the "guns don't kill people, people kill people", well you can choose to live in a society full of guns or you can live in another one without them or are heavily restricted. Our roads are riddled with speed limits and speed cameras, in fact I've never seen so many compared to other countries like Japan where I hardly saw any even in inaka areas where cars are more likely to "open" up. They also have zero tolerance for drink driving too. This says something about our responsibilities as a society for our roads. If we cannot leave it up to the driver to take responsibilities then somebody else has to. On a side note, my P plate neighbour has an XR6 ute and while it sounds and looks good, he can't help letting everybody else know that he's coming home or going out. His mum must be worrying sick in light of this event, same colour too.

Thanks mate, how old are you? I've been on the road for over 20 years and had personal experiences in something like this. Don't call out "this is the silliest post in a while" without finding out the reasons behind it, there are better ways a mod can act.
