  5. In Japan it is possible to have a car and only do very low kms, My brother-in-law lives in japan and he does very little km's, and his car he bought 2nd hand also had low kms. I have a 1991 EG Civic and it only has 50,000kms on it. All of that genuine. Its sometimes easy to see if it has done more km's that on the clock. Other times it is very hard. Its just better to be wary of the fact that the car might have the km's wound back, but not all of them have had the clock wound back.
  6. Hey, There is many reasons why the timing belt may have been done. It may have had a leaking Water pump, and while they were in there they replaced the belt as well. There could have been a leaking oil seal, so they did it all in there. There is always the possibilities that the clock was woud back, if you have any stickers on the drivers door, service stickers from japan you can always see, if there is more km's on the last sticker than what was on your car when you got it. then it may have been wound back. Its hard to tell if its been wound back though. on the timing side of things. Im unsure of this, But checking the timing with a light is mostly the best way to check, you get a more accurate reading than with the ecu, or at least thats my opinion. Some of the more techno savvy guys might be a better help than me.

  8. True you can do this, i had only one option, after going to every auto elect, repco, super cheap and autobahn I came back with nothing. But for anyone who doesn't want to stuff around with the globes, genuine is the only way to go.
  9. Don't ask them about a Series 2 key either, With the buttons i think by memory it was around $200.00 I nearly fell over when i heard that. I had to ask if he was for real
  10. I can give you 2 Genuine Nissan part numbers. I know these ones are for the Climate control and Gauges in the RS4S. I've attached some pics if the helps. I don't know what ones are in the dash, but I used these in my Climate control and Gauges I'm guessing that they would be the same. 27545-8E100 LAMP ASSY. Looks: This is a long grey housing with a small globe at the end, globe has a blue cover on it. 27545-0N002 LAMP ASSY. Looks: Short housing with a blue cover over the globe. Both globes were about $11.00 each a year or so ago. Hope that helps some what. Pics of them are here for you
  11. Hey wolverine, Thanks for all the info, its all very much appreciated. Where i live its hard to just go and talk to someone about the car, most people don't evan know what it is lol. I'll do some digging around here and on the interwebs. I will post a solution if i get one in the next year. Its always good to let others know just incase they have the samer problem, Thanks a lot guys. Any more suggestions are always welcome though!
  12. Alright so update: I got under the car today and got out the lube.... can never have too much.. Lubed every bush I could see..... Im NOT being dirty here...... get your head out of the gutter... Unfortunately I still have the problem My front sway bar however looks like it moves a bit. I'm having thoughts it might be this or i also noticed the front Caster arm bushes (FAST calles it the Bush-Mounting, Tension Rod) the bushes have a few stress marks in them, there not huge cracks but its not what i call nice... All the other suspension is good tho. I'm looking at getting new suspension next year any way. So the question i need to ask is..... How many of you have replaced these? Should i Go genuine or is there a non gen version out there? My dealer will do anything i want, i can get almost any part form japan, i just need to give him parts numbers, as long as it is genuine I should also ask on the sway bars. I know i can just replace the bushes, simple 2 min job, but what options are there for Newer thicker ones? I will be looking at front and rear, while im at it. Thanks guys. Sorry if these are easy to answer or i could have just searched for them. all help is appreciated tho.
  13. Alright...... To start with, Cargo space is awesome. I've helped my sister move house, Tv's and all fit in it easy, I've also fitted a full Mugen exhaust for my civic type r in the back with box and room to spare, so unless you moving alot of stuff you won't have a problem there. Rear seats fold down flat, i can lay in the back of my car and still move around, but im only short. Ah auto tranny, I can;t really help you with this, I have the rs4s so its a manual. Some of the other guys will be able to help with this tho. Engine wise, all the series 2's the one your looking at has theh RB25DET from the R34GTT, power out put form factory is 206KW or 280HP. Cruise control will depend on what model you get and if it was put in after market. Mechanical problems are the same as the GTT, turbos will blow eventually, small oil leaks (im lucky to say i haven't had any yet) Airbags..... Ah mine has 2 in the front, but i think it depends on the model again. ABS is standard, and Traction control im not sure on stability control isn't i dont think. Mine doesn't have it to my knowledge. i might be wrong though.... You do however have Hicas just like the skylines and also if you get a 4wd you get Atessa, just like the gt4. Insurance.... I pay $300.00 but i have a fleet insurance (20 cars or more) but i did get a quote from Just car and i think it was somewhere in the $1500.00 mark, for an under 25 , secure parking, a couple of mods, good driving history and being female, chicks get it cheaper Also take a good look around the forum there is ALOT of info on here you just need to have a good look around. Hope that sort of helps
  14. HAppy birthday man, Hope you have a good one..... I spend my 21st at work...... although i hurt my shoulder so i got to go home early,
  15. I don't know........
  16. Well if i find i have a gear stick then im in alot of trouble. lol
  17. Nah i know its not the cv joints, it also makes the noise when im going straight. also ive been driving my partners car for a while and when i took my car today i realised my gearstick moves around alot more than i think it should. Might be the gearbox mount, ive got one stocked away with a heap of spare parts. ill give it a look when its on the hoist next. thanks again guys!
  18. Thanks for the responses guys, ive got to replace my thrust bearing soon any way so ill do the clutch and stuff so i can also have a real good look at the bearing and stuff while im there.
  19. Nah doesn't sound like a wheel bearing, its not there all the time, only when i labor up the motor. its quite annoying
  20. Its not really a squeaking noise. Its more of a grinding wearing noise if that makes sense. A bit like a worn cv joint.
  21. I had a guy the other day ask me if my car was american. My s2 doesn't look american does it? I get a lot of weird looks here, being that mine is the only one in my area and when you do see another one its only here for a day and its gone again.
  22. Hey guys, So ive had my s2 for about 14months and love every little thing about it, well except for one thing. When i bought the car i didn't notice any noise, but after a week i noticed a noise coming form what i believe is the front LH side (passagers side) of the car. The noise only occurs when i labor up the engine, like traveling at low speeds going around a corner/ roundabout or going over speed bumps. I had my suspicion it was the exhaust but after replacing the whole thing i still have the noise, i removed heat shields and it was still there. I also am lucky enough to have a hoist so i did a hoist drive (lift the wheels off the ground and put the car in gear) and i can't get it to make a noise. so it is defiantly caused by load. Has anyone had this type of problem before? I can't see anything rubbing or wearing. Any help is appreciated.
  23. My partner and i have 5 cars between us. it is alot to look after but all the cars are justified. Having 2 cars can be both easy and hard to look after. there is always going to be 2 rego's come in and 2 lots of insurance to pay. plus petrol and running costs. Having a skyline as a weekender is a good idea. you can drive the corolla every day and when you go into the skyline it feels faster and more enjoyable. also you can spend more time and money modifying the skyline if thats what your into. and if you need parts or you break something, your not in trouble if you have to go to work the next day.
  24. Spotted Silver M35 Stagea in Wodonga. Custom Victoria rego with white lettering on Blue background. Looked nice. I hope to see more stag's going around here. To my Knowledge im the only Wgnc34 here. Besides a few Ive seen driving through!
