  1. Haha, like half way through the drifts? That would have been me if it was a series 1.5, I wave to everyone in a skyline (or anyone at all on that road)
  2. BAM! I'm there.
  3. So it turns out the track I was meant to be rallying on was buried under water, so dropped in to check it out the super sprints on my way home. Major lack of skylines, only got to see the r32 gtr run while I was there Some awesome runs from other cars though, hot damn that supra is fast!
  4. I'm going to have to dedicate some alone time to this album... Thanks man, looks awesome
  5. Picked up a cheap Z32 ecu to be slightly modded and then nistuned to fit in my R33 today, then I'm off to drive some evo's & wrx's on a dirt track tomorrow. Good weekend so far
  6. Man points. I think the Getz just stole yours
  7. You love it mang, we all know you love it. You should have come in, I would have held your hand and everything Though I think I just ruined all zoid's & veeto's street cred...
  8. That would be my poor dirty car I reckon, I need to give her a clean sometime today as she's been on too many dirt roads recently. I shoved the stickers on yesterday (though took the red 'S' off, as it looked way better all in white/silver on my white car). I was actually at the ice skating rink with Zoidbergmerc and Veeto from on here
  9. BAMMMMM! Not sure what is going on that day for me, but this is at the top of my otherwise empty schedule for the moment
  10. Mine is mounted in the same place, perfect position in an R33. If you're in the south give me a yell and I'll show you how un-annoying/unseen it is You could run into an issue if you're a midget as the seat will only go 80-90% of the way forward, but even when the wife drives it's fine, and if you want that extra movement you can just leave the bracket there and take out the actual fire extinguisher.
  11. Random question, what car is this going into? Lots of different places to mount them in different cars, which I guess would then lead on to different mounting techniques. Make sure it's really solidly mounted, as otherwise you're just adding a projectile/object to get caught under your brake pedal. I ended up leaving mine in the R33 as I literally forget it's there, and you can hardly see it. Also, as zoid says, you never know when it may come in handy Remember that if you're at an event you want it within reach of the driver with your seatbelt on, in case your car decides combusting is high on it's to do list
  12. ...jesus christ, sooty just got super sexy
  13. Pretty sure I'm gutted I won't make this one. Will be on the other side of the state should be an awesome day though
  14. Ended up heading to the Tasmaninan Super Series instead, we should do this sometime soon though, my car is back in one piece now..
  15. I have made these changes to my series 1.5 gtst over the last year, I was running into understeer at the track when pushing it through the corners so decided that it needed stiffening up a little. I did it in the following order and had these experiences: - Fitted a whiteline front strut brace, slightly tighter chassis in the front but no difference to turn in etc. Felt more direct, but I have a feeling it was just the placebo effect coming on. - Fitted a _front_ whiteline adjustable sway bar and left it on its softest setting (as per instructions) and took her for a drive. One word for you, whale. Like a whale on a seesaw. - Fitted a _rear_ whiteline adjustable sway bar and tightened up the front sway bar. Suddenly had a very noticeable difference in handling, still a fair bit of body roll (stock suspension doesn't help here) but very predictable in corners. Next track day it felt like a completely different car, very controllable slight oversteer which kept me facing into the corner perfectly. I ran this setup for a couple of months until at one of the track days a mate of mine rolled his R33, from which I gained a nameless rear strut brace which I installed a couple of weeks ago. Strangely, this completely changed the feeling of the entire car. I refuse to believe that this is down to the brace, rather that it may have been the final piece in strengthening the chassis, so if I remove something else it will go back to being slightly less harsh again. I haven't been back to the track since, but on the road it feels like it's having trouble maintaining grip in the rear due to being too stiff on our rough Tasmanian roads, and has lost some predictability. I'm not sure if this is because I'm going through the corner faster, it feels faster, but is most likely due to the fact skipping around and I can't tell at normal road speeds whether there is any real speed gain. Next track day will see whether I leave the rear brace in, or take it out for some flex as the closest track down here is quite bumpy. Jay
  16. Haha, there you go. I asked a few people and heard no one knew where it came from originally You don't happen to have a decent quality version laying around?
  17. Thanks mate, but I picked one up from RUSTY_01 not long after the original request Still looking for a decent 400r front bar though
  18. Oh Jesus. wtf did you do to third? That thing looks like it's been... violated..
  19. Not generally a fan of big wings on cars, but that looks absolutely awesome mate (even though I can't see the rest of the car..) Very interested to see the final product!
  20. There's a couple of others around of the same colour getting around Hobart, Taurismo33's old R33 looked very similar from a decent distance (400r kit etc on it when you get closer) That being said, it was most likely Brian
  21. A decent amount of stuff happened with my car over the last few weeks. Had a knocking noise the other day as I pulled into the driveway, which turned into a horrible rattle/scraping noise the next time I started it. Had my mechanic over and he thought it could be the timing idler/tensioner coming loose, but it turns out it was the harmonic balancer wobbling around and it was rubbing against the engine. It had eaten out the keystone on the crankshaft and created a lip in front of the timing gear, and because it had arsed up the crank a bit we were worried it may have screwed up the timing gear or it's key stone/area on the crank as well. Ended up pulling it all down and replacing the water pump, crankshaft seal, timing belt (with a full new kit) and a new crank timing gear because we ended up drilling the other one off a bit early for the timing service, but meh. In slightly more awesome news, I got my new QFM AR1M brake pads the other day, just need to get the rotors machined and get them in now Also, my car has a few goodies stolen off Veeto's poor car now, the 3.5" exhaust system and the rear strut brace. She's running a lot tighter and louder.
  22. Says captain combustible... I don't think you can claim ease of installation until you've done it without creating a fireball every time you turn a corner
  23. The R33 would be there for sure if I wasn't pulling the front off my engine on Sunday, not sure if I'll have all the parts required and get it back together in time or not. Either way, I'll try to make it in the trusty old ute if the skyline can't make it. Good to have a chat with a bunch of car enthusiasts.
  24. Hey mate, does this use the same return pipes as the stock sidemount intercooler? (i.e. does it look a bit like this http://justjap.com/store/images/P/cpstealther34.jpg ?)
  25. Sign me up for two as well, I would copy and paste the list, but that'd make it way too simple for you
