Questions For All Skyline Owners :o
Marcus89 replied to Liquid Swords's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
For a daily driver wouldn't bother with a kit could get a lip but and lower the car as it looks heaps better than a car with a kit still riding at 4wd spec -
Want a series 1 r34 front bar or a nismo front bar any colour and am happy to pay for postage if it is the right price. Also want a 3 inch dump pipe can be mild or stainless steel not fussed already have front pipe back with highflow cat.

Interesting fact is that the twin turbo 1jz's are actually quicker down the quarter in standardish trim (i.e. exhaust, intake and fmic) as was found out on jzx100.com. Use to be on there fairly often and found a thread about it apparently it's because the twin turbo's are actually a bit better in top end. The same result was found over many many drag days although a contributing factory could be the jzx100 weighing a fair bit more than the jzx90 although i do not think the weight difference is all that much

Lol yea i wanna try and avoid ebay stuff altogether on the car but something small like this that has no affect on performance and can't really stuff up (well i don't think it can be stuffed too badly) might be useable
-
I have tried contacting empire aero might have to try again cause he hasn't gotten back to me yet would be good if he has something or gets stuff cause he is local to me

Why do you want to take the car to japan? Have you built it in Australia and now moved to japan? I'm pretty sure euro cars get imported a fair bit there. Never heard of cars from Australia but

Interested in getting some eyelids for the 34 and was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the ebay chinese ones? I don't mind paying extra and getting proper ones if i can find some somewhere but if anyone has used these and found them to fit well anyway i may just get these instead.

lol true i didn't bother watching the story that closely. That's pretty interesting i reckon Clarkson will just laugh at them -
Sorry bit of misinformation earlier in this thread. To enter diagnostic mode is very similar to the r33 but you press the door switch 5 times in 7 seconds. Then once i was in diagnostic mode i turned the ignition off for 5 seconds and then back on and that cleared the error. Doing the method already mentioned seemed to get me into diagnostic mode but wouldn't clear the fault for some reason. Hopefully this helps someone down the track

Ok went for a drive to get some fuel still have the issue gonna have to check all the cables under the seats. Looked at the service manual says there are side side airbags in the seats and the cables underneath the seats are for the sensor module for these side airbags bit of looking around for me tomorrow

ok guys anyone with the flashing airbag light in the r34 i have found the reset procedure to use is this one: http://www.nissanforums.com/966228-post7.html Reads: Here's the process to reset the air bag light (copied from somewhere else on the forum)... I tried it and it works. If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Here is how to reset it: 1. Turn the key from off to on. 2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly. 3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .) 4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times. 5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry. 6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing. If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again.

Had a search and couldn't find a definite answer for the r34. Anyways i am getting the blinking air bag light on the dash. Happened this afternoon after getting my car tinted. The only thing that the tinter could of accidentally touched are the cables underneath the driver/passenger seat are these related to airbags? Also found another thread that said the reset for r33's is to press the door switch 7 times within 10 seconds of turning ignition on but wasn't able to find any confirmation on if this works for r34's.

A First For Me: Hit By An Idiot While *in* My Garage
Marcus89 replied to rtune's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Wouldn't have mattered if her insurance didn't come through if you had full comprehensive as you would put in the claim but not have to pay excess they would fix your car then go after hunting after her for the money -

holy crap did you die and come back to life? -
Ok as far as i know these are direct change over which is easy enough. One thing i want to know but is if anyone has done it and found a way to keep the series 2 clear indicators as they are a different shape to the series 1 bar's and won't fit in the spot the series 1 bars have. Also if anyone has any idea how much front bar resprays should be about that would be rather helpful to when i go hunting for someone to do the job. (Would be pearl white respray so guessing little bit extra)
-
I am looking for a front bar to suit a r34 GTT. If it is pearl white i will be very interested although i know this is unlikely so show me what you have. Located in Southside Brisbane QLD would be willing to travel to gold coast area and possibly sunshine coast. If postage is not too much (no idea how much guessing a fair bit) i would be willing to pay for shipping for interstate also

Looking At Upgrading To A Skyline But Need Some Help
Marcus89 replied to TUF250's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I would love to see this as i believe everything is against an auto winning in a straight line race although it comes down to modification levels obviously. 1. From everything i have seen auto gearboxes cause more loss through the drive-train 2. Unless the box is shift kitted it will have that lag between gear changes which would allow a manual driver to get going quicker 3. The auto gearbox is only 4 speed which means the car obviously has longer gear ratio's which in turn mean's slower acceleration unless your putting down big numbers. -

I'd say they are talking about top gear Australia and even if they are talking about UK top gear I doubt that they would ever hear about this.
