  1. JDM vs ADM for insurance costs isn't really much worth taking into account unless your over 25. Reason is there are many places that will not insure imports at all and they are likely to have cheaper insurance premiums. On the other hand if your under 25 in a turbo car they won't insure you anyway
  2. Would be abnormal not to if you ask me. I'm a QLDer so don't really have a close connection to the track but to see any track closed sucks. Are they making another as a replacement?
  3. how big are the motors out of toyota aurions? They use those in the lotus evora and if the engine itself isn't too large/heavy i could see it being all kinds of awesome. Also aren't LS motors shorter and lighter than RB's? Although unsure on how tall these are either
  4. Wasn't it done on a public road? Definitely looks like one to me. If that is so then it's still illegal whether it was for a top gear stig audition or not unless of course top gear Australia got written consent from the road authorities and they officially closed off the roads for it to be done. From the video i highly doubt that has happened. Thought and planning was obviously put in as they likely had spotters to watch for cars doesn't make it legal but.
  5. I play on the console so i have had BF:BC for the last year or 2 to play and that was much more fun the BF2 even though there were less vehicles it was more fun being able to destroy walls. Got so put off going back to play BF2 with a guy hiding behind a thin concrete wall and i couldn't kill him with my tank found it so annoying now that i am use to destructible environments. I have dled the demo on xbox 360 and play that a fair bit atm and have had the limited edition version of full game pre-ordered for a long while now
  6. You made me think of this: Wish i knew how to embed To OP thanks for the headsup i doubt i would be going that far out of my way for items for the car but it's always good to know
  7. i be one of these skyline wankers +repz to me. Generally i keep to myself when i'm driving around so i'll likely not see people wave in the first place
  8. I agree it's frustrating at best how much domination all the apple crap has. I basically had to buy an ipod cause the thing i wanted to use it most for was music in my car and ipods seem to be the only one with support from most headunits. Sound quality on them still sucks a fat wang but i guess thats what you get
  9. Dam man that sucks to hear i live local to that so i'll try to keep an eye out although unfortunately not exactly something rare so be nigh impossible to get back
  10. For an auto turbo car i would just go a jzx100 chaser if i was you
  11. Hmm probably gonna be looking at iinet after checking their pricing and combined deals internode is a fair bit more in comparison. Any idea wtf is the go with internodes 'Extreme' ADSL2 and their 'Fast' ADSL2 run of different networks?
  12. So all GTR intercoolers are basically very good up to around 300rwkw? Can they be fitted to r34 GTT's without any cutting of reo support and where does the piping usually get fed on the GTR's factory?
  13. my mum has a 530i with the sports package upgrade (m5 wheels, suspension and little things here and there) and i wouldn't take it over speed bumps very quickly car feels about as rough as my stock suspension r34 likely due to having the slightly lowered sportier m series suspension in it but still i can't see them going over speed bumps as comfortably what bmw was it that you used?
  14. that's exactly what i was saying that it handled alright but was many times more comfortable than a standard r34 would be
  15. The xr6t might be a bit of a boring drive but damn are those cares comfy since they were built specifically for Australian roads just feels like your riding on a cushion. The only thing is that they are heavy as and wouldn't be that much fun through the corners even if they do handle decently for the size/weight of the car. That is the biggest reason i wouldn't go with one atm i like to be able to take corners at a bit of speed every now and again rather than slow down to 20 corner then plant it (exaggeration here)
  16. well with the commodore the car actually came with that motor from factory whereas the s13 never came with an rb motor from factory so just going by what happened with your VP isn't going to work. Have you tried calling the RTA about the silvia i'm sure they could give you an answer i'm in QLD so know dickall about rules in NSW
  17. Would make sense for sedan to be slightly more expensive as you get a bit more car for the money. I do find it strange that many coupe bmw's ect command a fairly decent premium but i guess thats the 'sporty' car image
  18. While i agree with them not looking very good i still reckon it would be an amazing drive electronics or not. I cannot say how 'raw' the drive is/would be as i haven't driven one but if i am fortunate to get in the drivers seat of one i'll tell you how it is. The thing is without all those electronics i would be surprised to see a 1700kg car pull 1.2g's around corners whether it is 4wd or not. You own a 33 your opinion on good looking cars is null and void
  19. I thought the 6 speed manual that started in the BA MKII (i think or was it BF MKI?) was supposed to be very strong and reliable
  20. I thought RB boxes would be common as anything? Actually come to think of it i wouldn't be surprised if they are always getting snapped up by the kids on with silvias changing their boxes over too something a bit stronger
  21. oh my bad way i was reading it was your meant to be sliding the car whilst doing the figure 8's man im a retard haha
  22. you may need to clarify your post a little more OP. Do you mean you would like to put the whole 4wd drivetrain from a GTR in or as blind elk has read it and you just want the electronic system which would do nothing
  23. ah so itsa GTR's only being talked about here? Makes a bit more sense then i guess. I'd agree with Sarumatix's quote although do not know much about the r31 the descriptions of the 32/33 and 34 seem pretty spot on to me
  24. one thing i must say is with all the electronics coming out in new cars having a beat up 20 year old car won't be much of an option anymore as electrical issues will become to much of a pain unless there is an easy way to diagnose all the issues from home with a laptop and some software plugged in.
  25. If you really want an RB motor then go for the r32. IMO the r32 is the best looking out of the cars but it is very old also. If your happy to keep the SR then the s14 as i said before
