  1. With street tyres, stock engine and AWD I was having troubles with traction at times on the skidpan. Water would have made the understeer even worse.
  2. Can't keep everyone happy on the skidpan, I think the Wangs are the only events that no one complains about
  3. It's probable the cops will be nice on him by giving him the ribbed rubber dong, and use lube. It suddenly makes paying my taxes so enjoyable.
  4. I have put up some in-car videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/tekjim#p/u
  5. I'm on FF 3.6 and still have the edit box issue.
  6. Seriously I am so over having to refit everything into my boot after hardly any sleep on Saturday night and the mission home. I may just very well leave it all in next time. Bolted to the chassis will pass scrutineering won't it?
  7. Thankyou once again to the organisers and everyone who made the trip. Also Taco Baz + drinks afterwards was great as per usual So very very very tired now, ZzzzzzZzz's are calling. Look forward to seeing your pics/videos when everyone is back to reality.
  8. Yeah everyone that means download the event schedule for if/when it goes offline
  9. Kieren did you get your super oversteer issue sorted out?
  10. That is some dedication! I'd say it's not a good idea to do motorsports with a cast on even if the regs did not forbid it. Nothing worse than injuring the same part twice before it is fully healed. It then takes even longer to heal.
  11. I dunno how much water you drink at the top but that's the equiv of 20L of water . I'd be getting stitches bad if drinking more than a couple of hundred Mls once I'm at the top and have to come back down again! Like Birds suggested I do leg presses or barbell squats to work on legs and glutes; I presume that's why you carry ballast.
  12. Either that or you see em slamming down sports drinks on the way up, which offsets any weight loss that may have occurred. Climbing the stairs doesn't actually burn that much energy. I can think of a lot of other exercises which are more full body and less impact on the knees but which burn more energy.
  13. Haha shit yeah
  14. Haha yeah it's too steep to safely run down and also quite steep to walk down since you are constantly fighting against slipping down. So it's a kind of crab walk diagonal to come down at any reasonable speed.
  15. Funny that, I saw Wanzi's car there today too I personally preferred the Wineglass Bay/Hazards Beach circuit in Tasmania (About 4 hours walk) as that has a good variation of up/down and different types of surfaces, so all the muscles received a workout instead of just burning up the front half of the quads.
  16. To be honest after Sandown I may even go back to OEM pads for daily driving, and only fit the A1RM for track or the twisties. 15mins inconvenience to change the pads over as needed is worth it to not have wooden brakes during the working week which is when 90% of my driving is anyway.
  17. Hey I'm going to Sandown that weekend too, so will prob see you there, hopefully you are looking at me through your front window and not your rear window . I fitted QFM A1RM on the front and their HPX on the rear, plus the TRW 600F fluid so it should hopefully do OK. Bloody Sandown I wouldn't have had to do all that work unless I was signed up for that, but I'm sure it'll be fun
  18. I'm not suggesting 10psi or anything crazy like that, but high 20s even. Even if he drops 4-5 psi on the rear less than whatever he usually uses is surely gonna make a diff.
  19. I may likely be dropping around for a bit as someone is trying to con me into putting my stock NA engine on the dyno . Otherwise I'll just have a snag and sign up for another 3 years of madness
  20. Drop your rear pressures right down for the wangs then put them back up for the skidpan. Of course you will need to take a footpump with inbuilt gauge because I don't remember seeing a compressor there last time
  21. I could think of other things better than to pinch a relay from... Aircon or heater perhaps?
  22. FWD would be hell fun on the skidpan anyway, better get that handbrake button taped down
  23. The car should start whether the turbo timer is plugged in or not, it basically works by keeping the ignition wires and accessory wires hot even after you've removed the key from the ignition. Therefore I cannot see how changing over (or removing entirely) the turbo timer module, would prevent the car starting. The possibility is that the harness pin outs is different for the two modules, or that something has shorted and blown a fuse (under the dash) or fusible link (under the bonnet). Check your voltage with a multimeter to see if you have a flat battery. It would not otherwise make sense that if you backtracked to before you changed the module over, that the car still wouldn't start.
  24. With booze/drug buses I was advised by a friend who is in the force (constable), that they do not find out where each bus is situated until on the night when they are assigned to one. This minimises leaks of this information prior to deployment. I thought the same would be the case with the TMU, or is it the case that the bottom of the food chain does not get to know in advance but the commanding officers do? Other than that, a blitz on Princes is probably about due, I'm sick of people trying to drag me off at the lights especially when my car is pretty stock looking from the outside and I don't drive with my windows open and stereo pumping! The stupid thing is that if a cop witnessed the event, even if I took off from the lights normally but the other guy tore off like a rocket we would probably both get done for "drag racing"
  25. Calder Park?
