  1. it would agree it can do damage i once had a dc5 type r... and my loud exhaust got defected anyway i bolted up my standard exhaust went to the prick at granville it failed like 1db i wanted to give the guy a beat down for not passing me. Any way getting to the point now i put a hot dog resignator in my standard exhaust and it burnt out the o2 sensors and it was a straight through resignator. so that defect i laughed at..... bent me over lol.
  2. at the very least id get a head reconditioned new springs and guides and make sure all valves are still seated right.

  4. follow the cop that defects your car... see what car he drives and get 3 different people to call up the epa saying this car blows excessive smoke lets see how he likes it!
  5. i better get out the clay and measure my valve to piston clearance in the cylinder hehe.

  7. hey thanks for your interest in trying to help, but timing is spot on im tending to lead towards the wrong cams were given to me. might get some other cams as i put standard ones in compression comes back up.
  8. just had a quick look on the just jap website and they say the pon cams are 260.... yeh i have the adjustable gears does anyone know how many degrease is safe to turn before valves can actually hit piston? and should i turn them clockwise or anti do i turn them bothe in the same direction...?
  9. Hey guys just wondering how well you know your 260pon cams rb26.... To start off all shims are adjusted correctly. OK well my cams have an aggressive over lap causing a serve low compression reading for example... the piston travels down, inlet valve opens, piston reaches bottom of cylinder and begins to come up and the inlet is still open. it causes a low comp reading of about 100 and i drop in stock cams and it goes all the way to a strong 150. can anyone shed some light on their overlap?

  11. i have sold a few cars in the past and even with a bank cheque i would not let car go until you see the $$$ in my account. Just one extra little thing to save a huge hassle IF something did happen probaly highly unlikely somethiong would but theres always a but.
  12. if it was my car sounds like id be checking intake pipes...exhaust front pipe off see if anything looks irregular as in any signs of water or oil leak...maybe even your piston rings are gone oil leaking into combustion chamber causeing smoke... slightly low compression causeing turbos unable to spin?? just a few thoughts.
  13. i have the hicas lock kit on my garage floor but what would i need weld on fittings for?? i thought it was just a surgey and two pumps in the boot running lines under the car to the twin entry rail.
  14. hey guys im up to the stage of getting parts for my fuel system one thing im not sure about is do i use the old feed and return as both feeds to the rail and just run one return back from the reg to the surge tank?
  15. hi yes i remember doing this on my r32 a while back number 3 was very dificult try leaving 2 and 4 connected and the bracket that holds number 4 into the head still connected is easier this way other wise the pipes twist and move too much and it can make it dificult to put back on. i tried using wd40 etc but the only thing that worked was some heat around the area of thread to my memory i even used a normal spanner to get it off after heat applied, before i applied heat i used a pipespanner (linewrench) it still didnt move carefull not to round bolt.

  17. ye its big alright and drop standard cams in back to good comp this problem has done my head in for quite some time now im ganna rage it soon!!!
  18. i tested compression with a fully charged 12volt truck battery all spark plugs out the starter motor was cranking as fast as it can go no gearbox on either, my mate also bought the same identical cams as mine and he got 140psi with cam gears set at 0 as mine are set at 0 too. and timing marks are 100%
