First thing i did when i got defected was try get the tint removed, i told vicroads they arent tinted its the glass and they said it doesnt matter its still too dark so im going to goto tint a car or something and get them to write me something up and ill goto a different vic roads and hopefully get someone with half a brain. I called up a local nissan dealer and they said to goto tint a car or call nissan australia...... SIGH!

My front/passenger windows got tested and are fine, the rear windscreen and the rear side are the dark ones. None of it is tinted... i whent to the guy and said this is what happened can you remove the tint and he said its fine they arent tinted... but vicroads arent budging i need some proof or a contact of EDA.

Hey guys, So yeah.. the cops have done a real good one on me and im struggling to find out what to do!! Basicly, i got pulled over and the cop did a test and defected my car and said all my windows have to be 35% etc... How on earth do i make my back/rear side windows legal when its the glass?? NONE OF MY WINDOWS ARE TINTED!!! do i have to rip out the windows and install brand new glass? IF anyone can find me or give me the number of someone i can refer vic roads to.. it would be nice, i got a road worthy and everything and the are just saying all my windows need to be 70% i dont understand!! how did i get my car from jap cars with a road worthy if its illegal? PS. im not a hoon... i got pulled over coming out of a service station.... the cop found my bleed valve which i fixed and whent to the epa but only defected me on windows... THAT ARENT TINTED!!

i did read about these, i was running 14psi with the manual bleed valve and was very happy with it.. i was worried about my turbo though!

Is there much involved in modifying this? and does it hold boost better than a bleed valve? Im not a mechanic or anything and i normally pay for all work done to my car so yeah... im just a enthusiast : )

Haha, Trent was the one who installed/tried to hide it.. we even painted it black..... officer still found it. Is it easier to hide a EBC, like if i hide it in the Dash? what about the wiring in the engine bay?

Hey guys, Basicly i'm looking at ways to boost my R34 GT-T, it was previously boosted with a manual bleed valve buuut since a very smart TMU officer managed to find it rather easy i had to get it taken off and EPA etc etc... Im wondering, what is my next best option? Can you raise boost through a nistune chip? (i have a nistune installed) is there anyway to raise boost legally? or even go HIGH-FLOW but then dont i need a controller either way? Thankyou for any help, im at wits end with this whole thing and i may sell in the end its just costing me too much money

Topic says it all.. Im considering painting my r34's rims black but i want to see some pictures before i do it ive seen some but im wondering if anyone has more? Sooo if you have a white R34 GT-T fairly stock looking with black painted stock rims post some pics! thanks guys : )

Hawo!!!! So uhhh.... i used to have a really nice looking white r34 gt-t 1998 coupe UNTILL! 1: Sticker on right bumper stuck on from first sale in japan nissan dealer, Wouldnt come off and is now off but with scratches and touch up paint on instead (looks a different shade of white) 2: Anyone remember hail storm in melbourne with peoples car getting written off/shat on? yeah well it happend to my car but not bad enough for me to make a claim :| has small dents in the bonet some on the rear top quarter panel and roof/various places. (maybe 5 MAX that are noticeable rest are tiny) 3: Soooo one day i was washing my car with our pressure washer (hookd up to our water tank) as we do with all our cars owned/previously owned, then as im doing the bonet at the front lip just before the front bar WOOSH a tiny bit of paint comes off...... now that has come off its getting bigger and worse and more and more is coming off... and im noticing some more around the car little flacks of paint coming off completely back to metal. Soooo at the moment im almost in tears watching my pride and joy go from awsome to just another beat up skyline. People have any ideas on what can be done about the paint/dents? ideas... places..pricing.. anything is helpful at this stage whilst i save up $ to hopefully fix it. I am not willing to spend much more on the car so hoping it can be a cheap fix or else ill have to sell it for a hell of alot less than i brought it. ps. the car was imported through jap cars, im guessing the temperature change in counties has caused the paint to flake off. thanks guys

Invoice is filed away now was about $900 give or take $50 so much cheaper than a power fc!

Yeeaaa i whent for $ & name over recommended lol... mistake! (bleed valve) and i thought it would be easier to hide a bleed valve over a EBC sitting on my dash :\ i dyno graph could of told me it was 160rwkw and id be happy car is so much quicker and pulls like a truck! heaps of fun overtaking on the freeway on the run home hehe. As far as more upgrades go im pretty much out of $ and at the limit i set from day one for engine mods, hi flow turbo is cheap but ehhh doesnt appeal to me and the hassle to get it done is to much lol. Next is clutch as my current clutch hates life.... apologies if i misplaced the thread :\

yeah just a nistune chip (they are a piggy back not a full install so not illegal and cops cant find them with a on the spot inspection) and tuned by status

Hey people! Car - R34 GT-T 1998 Manual Coupe - 92,000 KM'S Figured i would throw up the graphs as some of you have been asking to see, got the car back saturday from Trent & Cat @ Status tuning . Give you a little run down: Car was imported (im first owner in aus) with japcars had full 100,000km service. completely stock bar side skirts & turbo timer. Mods: Full custom 3" Turbo back exhaust: Opel bell mouth dump, high flow cat, hotdog style muffler then to oval shape with twin 3" tip, mounted as high as possible for maximum clearance.. looks completely stock to cops and has a nice note whilst been fine for DB rating Front mount cooler: Stealth return flow style front mount cooler, completely legal to install no cutting required using the stock piping. Panel filter: Impul sports panel filter... im in vic so no pod with FMIC. Splitfire coilpacks: From day one i had coilpack issues instaleld the split fires car ran like new no issues at all. Turbosmart bleeder: Installed & tuned on the tuning day graph will show settings. Fuel pump: Bosch 040 fuel pump, installed on the tuning day by status. Nistune Chip: Status style piggy back nistune chip installed & full tune. General service with platinum spark plugs: Wanted a second opinion on the work done at japcars & got them to check out the work done on the 100,000 service... everything was fine but replaced the timing belt as it was making winey noise... All work was done through Auto Indulgence with Status installing the bleed valve/pump/nistune and full tune. From day one i told them i wanted a daily driver that wont attract cops and will have some go about it and 200 rwkw sounded nice and this is what i have! and i am one very happy customer. Anyone having doubts of doing the same thing dont. Its not expensive and wont cause u big hastles in the long run and u have a nice looking car to boot! See attachments for the dyno: Graphs using status dyno and trents tuning/recommendations Im using the stock clutch which is probly 5 mins away from dying i will update a proper graph at a shootout once i replace the clutch / bearings but this is a good indication of what u can do with a legal (bar the valve) 200rwkw street car !!! Excuse the scans look hard for the before/after lines as they are faded. Any questions or pricing or contacts feel free to MSG me and ill help where i can oh and ill stick up photos of the cooler/exhaust when i can thanks to all involved and who helpd me with my many noob questions after months / years of research im very happy

craig, do they happen to come on more often when its raining...? i had the same problem with what i said earlier, i was told by the importer when i had it that it happens as they die and will occur more frequently.. i just had my coilpacks replaced and spark plugs and no problems runs like a whole new car before u go spending $600 take it to the mechanic and get him to diagnose it properly... not much u can do but pay some $ either way lol

jamieeeeeeeee Yeah im sorted now, was just some on the spot decisions i had to make to get my car back today.... I get it back this afternoon so ill throw up some piccys he he! It had a little issue with the ECU cutting supply or something over 5psi... so it was either wait another day or tune it to 5psi... so its running at 5 now. Apparently the nistune will remove the 180kmh limiter and the issue with the 5psi so we will do that when i goto trent . pics up latter today!

Naa he didnt... we still have the pump it was going to go in today but they ran out of time and are waiting on brackets for it to go in... but i need my car back tomorrow lunch time so we are putting it off at that point they said the stock one is fine... so i can hold onto the stock one and just get the nistune chip or i can get status ? to put in the chip and pump! ta!
