Spotted 2x Targa Audis getting fuel. One coming out of wellington st servo, shell is it? Opposite the ladies gym on York St. Came straight out the exit and grinded his front bar on the road... think they'd know they are driving a lowish car?

Tuning Shops Locking Your Ecu's Tune
beamstas replied to NW007's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I can definitly see both sides to this, even if it is not legal for a workshop to lock a tune, i can see why they would want to. I believe that once you pay for a tune, it is yours. The workshop doesn't own the tune and you are "renting it", ie; using it and paying for it but don't actually own it. It is your tune. Fair enough the workshop may have people that have been in the industry for years and know how to get the best out of a tune but for example, If i pay $x for head work, can the workshop lock the head of the engine on so no one can take it off and look at it? No. The same goes for tunes.. You pay for what you get, better tuners are more expensive, you are paying for their knowledge, not by them locking the tune off. Also i don't believe tunes are very transferrable. All engines are different and a tune on one engine will not react the same as the same tune on another. There are too many variables to a tune to make it worthwhile transferring it to people you know. It would be interesting to see where the liability is if the engine pops. Maybe if the workshop kept an exact copy of each tune on file, liability of tunes that have been fiddled with could be avoided. My Opinion -

Best way to learn is to have friends who know what they are doing and tackle your mods at home with them doing them.. learning first hand is always better than just reading it out of a book without 'doing'.

R33 Front Camber Arms
beamstas replied to beamstas's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks prescott06 It's really hard for me to tell what's bent as im not familiar with the suspension in r33's. How would you say is the best way to find out what is bent? Im sure something is bent as it doesn't have adjustable camber arms, so for the camber to be different something would have to bend? Regards Brad -
Hey Guys, I hit a gutter doing 20-30km/h in my r33 the other day on the front right wheel, i went straight in and got a wheel alignment because my car started pulling to the left. Camber Results; Front R: 2.54* Front L: 0.51* Rear R: 2.14* Rear L: 1.94* Obviously this is why my car is pulling to the right, i have been told i need adjustable camber arms. Something similar to this? JJR Front Upper Adjustable Camber Arms - Nissan Skyline/Stagea - Hardened Steel - Adjustable - 4 Piece Set Vehicle Compatibility: - Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T - Nissan Skyline R33 GTR - Nissan Skyline R34 GTT - Nissan Skyline R34 GTR - Nissan Stagea WGNC34 - Nissan Stagea Autech 260RS http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...at=0&page=3 Has anyone bought these? Would they rectify my problem? Im pretty sure i've bent something as camber in the front of r33 is non-adjustable.

Blowing Smoke.... Help Please
beamstas replied to **r33 skyline**'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Above. You'll need to re-tune the car. Probably easiest solution is buy a S-afc I wouldn't be too bothered, rich = safe -
Cheers Marlin, That's my car. So 2.5 inches the wheel will be towards me, might be a bit uncomfortable and yes you are right about it not having a telescopic column. Hmmmm Might need some wooden blocks under my shoes Thanks for the info Cheers Brad

Does anyone have a d1 quick release in an r33? I was going to buy one when i buy a fixed seat .. they are both on just jap. I feel that my wheel may be way to close to me with the d1 quick release, becaue my wheel is already fairly dishy. Im 70kg and about 6 feet tall so i have fairly long arms but also long legs. How much can i expect to have the wheel move towards me? Also i've heard things about it stuffing up hicas & power steering, is this true? Cheers Brad

Spotted myself at powercruise but didnt recognise anyone from sau Did anyone see me?

For non turbo you still want to keep some back pressure in your exhaust, so going to a 3" system you will lose power. 2.25" should be adequate.

I like the 'driftin wing' better.. the d style lips that cover the gap between the boot and rear panel.. GTR wings look ok also I think you have done a good thing by taking off the stock wing.. Don't really go much on them.
-
Apparently they are not too loud internally gated. I know how a screamer pipe sounds.. mate has one on his rb20 180sx.. sounds tough.
-
I've Heard of people using a plate to seal it and stop the exhaust leak. Has anyone on here actually done it? v8tzr How would back pressure be affected? Its only the gases that aren't needed to spin the turbine.
-
Cheers Guys skline01999 Think your right, needed a new dump for the kkr turbo so that would explain the difference.. Elite Racing Thanks for your opinion. Are you sure its no hp gain? Less Restriction in the exhaust once the gate opens..

Hey Guys Has anyone on here bought a just jap split dump pipe that acts like a screamer pipe with an internally gated turbo? http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=2 The Turbo Im running is a kkr430 Specs: Compressor side Inlet pipe 70mm, outlet pipe 50mm 48 trim compressor; inducer 53mm, exducer 76.5mm Exhaust side 0.58 A/R turbine housing, Turbine wheel outlet 48mm, outer diameter 64.5mm I realise that it wont give the same roar as a large externally gated turbo but im looking for info/opinions from people who have done this, or people who know how this type of setup sounds . Cheers Brad
