I know that precision make good quality turbos but iv been looking at the new hurricane series of T4 turbos from turbonetics and am happy with the price and overall quality, response and look of their turbos . I aim to hit in the high 300kw area power wise. and i know people will say with that setup it will be easy but iv never had a big powered Gtr and arnt sure what to exspect. all i know is it will be shit loads of fun cant wait to get this on the street
  4. yeah oil issues are the last thing i want when this engine is running ill be sure to work out the best options as to how to achieve good oil flow and pressure without headaches
  5. no longer running a GSP turbo , decided to run a T4 turbonetics turbo 72mm
  6. iv been told that six boost manifolds are rubbish anyway the thailand steam pipe manifolds are like $650 and alot of people i know building cars have been really happy with the results
  7. hey guys iv been flat out at work getting the money organised for the bottom end work to go ahead. this week the block is off to get machined, the plenum is off to get polished and parts are starting to get ordered from the USA. I hav'nt had much time to work on the car but this weekend i did manage to spend a few hard but worthy hours stripping the front end down to where I want to start this build from. After 6L of degreaser and some serious scrubbing the engine bay looks amazingly clean . I was intending on painting the bay but probably wont bother, who knew that good paint was hiding under there Heres a few pics for you people
  8. thanks for the advice guys and yeah its so worth upgrading the oil pump gears for an extra $400 cant go wrong oh how I cant wait to get back on the road with this beast . f*k yeah tyranus cant wait to be another single turbo gtr monster stay tuned people ill get things going and fill you all in with the build thanks for the support
  9. Heres a few pics of the last motor i build turbocharged straight 6 ford Eb. I know its no skyline but this was a very basic engine to build . Its how I got the confidence to do all the work on the gtr32. looking at these pics you get the idea off how clean the gtr motor will look when its ready to drop back in . only it will be bigger and meaner
  10. hey people here is some of the work I intend on doing to the gtr : Turbo: GSP T72 single turbo braided oil feed and return tial wastegate 50mm custom T4 top mount manifold bottom end: CP forged pistons 87mm CP rings App H beam rods ARP 2000 caps ARP main studs oil gallery reducer Head : Brian crower springs Brian crower retainers step 2 cams triple layer head gasket ARP head bolts N1 oil pump N1 water pump cometic full engine gasket kit nismo engine mounts braided lines on the essentials 044 fuel pump 700cc injectors with top feed rail apexi radiator controlled via power FC probably more to come but theses are the items ill be knocking off the list first

  12. yeah i can see a full rebuild coming maybe its time to do it right and big instead of bolt on and hope for the best . if its a full rebuild might as well use quality forged parts and build the head strong . might be adding a build thread soon hahah
  13. so the results are in and its not good. i have now done a wet and dry compression test cyliners 2-6 have normal compression cylinder 1 has 0 compression . guess its going to be head off and fix or a new motor. i know rowan nash has like 6 rb26 motors might hit him up

  15. i will try thecomp test again this arvo and see what happens how much oil should i add to cylinder 1 ?
  16. ok so did a compression test and all 5 cylinders are good but i have zero comp in cylinder 1 guess the head has to come off to do a visual inspection . no good. iv been researching this issue and people say it could also be a broken exhaust valve that is stuck open thus the zero compression. has anyone else had this problem ? as i did hear a slight tick in the weeks leading up to this disaster but thought nothing of it . thanks james
  17. so here is the story , I have a gtr32 with hks gtss turbos , power fc full exhaust , tuned on 1 bar. took it for a spin and gave it max throttle from 2 to 3rd . drove it for about 2km after that pulled into my street and the idle started hunting. popped the hood and oil had blown out the pod filters and was blowing smoke like crazy . so I thought I had blown a turbo oil seal, changed the turbo's back to the stock set , cleaned out my induction pipes and intercooler basically degreased every part inside and out. started the car and the ilde was sort of stable , not hunting but ruff to rev and still blowing heaps of smoke . iv been told that all the oil that shot to the head came out the crank case vent and into the induction and out the exhaust thus the smoke. what people havnt told me is why this happened ? iv also been advised to change my spark plugs and to do a compression test , and to have a better go at getting the excess oil out of the cat and exhaust to stop the smoke. what are peoples thoughts any input would be great , thanks james .

  20. hey people names James just want some feedback . Im going to go big single on my gtr 32 . the engine as far as i know is standard internals . I have a full exhaust , power Fc and apexi radiator. all I want to do is a basic bolt on big single and get it tuned for the street and engineers certificate. Whats the best size turbo for this application ? ill also be upgrading the injectors and fuel pump. do I have to run a oil and water cooled single turbo or can i run oil cooled and block off the coolant feed. regards James

  22. Hey people this Friday the guys from club R32 have organised a r32 skyline only meet. I'm pretty sure it won't matter if you show up on a 33-34 you just might get asked to move for photos Friday the 28th 1 station pier spirit of Tasmania 9pm -late This is not a cruise it's just a meet for the members of club R32 to get to know everyone and take photos Hope to see a heap of r32's there
