  1. So Nissan have said they want to double check what they have in hand from Infiniti is in fact for my car and are talking with some Nissan techs somewhere about the details. Should be making a booking Monday, and hopefully have it done not long after. Once it's fixed it's on the market according to the missus No idea on costs yet, but I have a feeling the goodwill and excellent customer service is going to trickle it's way down to the final bill.
  2. You usually have warranty on workmanship, so if they stuff something up they have to fix it. In this case if they brick my ECU it's just too damn bad. They explain that they have not tested this update locally as they would normally before using it on a clients car. They don't expect any problems as it is the Nissan update for my car based on my VIN, but in the unlikely event...
  3. No I haven't had it done yet, hopefully this week. They emailed me today to inform me that there is no warranty having the update applied. It is a special circumstance and not something they would usually do, so if I still wanted to go ahead I have to agree to no warranty. At this stage I'm quite willing as without the update it'll be found in a paddock on fire anyway......
  4. iknorite? I've read it's fixed the problem for a lot of people, but not all. It also gets rid of the acceleration delay, but takes some of the grunt out of it. Either way this has bought my car a little more life before being disposed of Salem Witch style.
  5. I woke up to some fantastic news from infiniti today. Japan has sent them the update, they have it in hand. They're sending it to my local Nissan and i'll have it booked in asap. Somebody pinch me
  6. Yer mine will play some jap anime dvd's I have, but nothing from any other region.
  7. I am yet to get a reply from Infiniti since being told they were discussing logistics with Japan. I've also tried to find out from them if a brand new ECU comes out of the factory updated. No response yet.
  8. So is your idle/warm bucking problem fixed? My idle sits 500, always dips under 400 once or twice while stopped at lights recently.
  9. Get detailed info when you go pick it up, share with the rest of us
  10. I tried finding a second hand one, but could not get confirmation from anyone if they were updated or not. Not sure of the price of a new ECU (wouldn't be cheap) compared to a second hand one (see them on ebay around the $300-$500 mark sometimes)
  11. That is my next step if I can't get the file. Buying a new one already updated.
  12. Should be just a phone call away. Infiniti Melb said they'd simply put the update on a USB and mail it to my local.
  13. Which Nissan dealership is doing your update?
  14. Infiniti just got in touch, they've finally been given permission to discuss the logistics with the department handling the update in Japan.
  15. Thanks for the extra info, sounds like more work than anyone I've come across in Adelaide is enthusiastic enough to investigate. I really wish I could slap a bandaid on it and just f**k it off lol. Hopefully Infiniti have finally got an answer for me tomorrow morning.
  16. I bought my PV36 Sedan from them March last year and have had nothing but problems with it. I am unable to return it for servicing as I'm in Adelaide. Igor was very helpful, but the warranty is shit house and the transport company they use is useless (waited 3 weeks for my car from syd - adelaide, ended up canceling the transport, flying over and bring it back myself) Since taking it to Nissan to have work done, they asked me if I had tampered with the digital KM's as the car showed wear closer to 100k, not the 35k on the clock when I bought it.. Also once the polish wore off, the paint on the doors is scratched to hell. I'll soon be contacting them in regards to returning the car as it is now un drivable. I now know to ask to see their auction/sales papers from japan to compare KM's before buying a fresh import, silly me.
  17. Unplugging those solenoids a couple of pages back is unlikely to make a difference to the affects of a damaged O-Ring/gasket?
  18. Dump it, this car is a total lemon Hopefully tomorrow I get good news from Infiniti. I'm worried though that the firmware will not fix it and instead its a "Oil gallery gasket" ?? Is that just a oil pan rubber gasket?
  19. mate you've had a shocka :-/
  20. My last mechanic told me he couldn't connect to my car using consult because it was configured to speak to his 2x R35GTR's only, does that sound legit?
  21. Main north nissan in Adelaide did mine, they scratched their heads for a bit then another branch told them to use the nissan Micra program. Worked no problem on my PV36.
  22. Main North Nissan told me it's no longer opening here
  23. I suggested flying to Melb with the ECU in my pocket, but Infiniti told me it needs to be in the car.
  24. Nissan can do keys, tell them to use the Nissan Micra program. The guys at Main North Nissan in SA almost didn't do my keys until another branch they called said to use the Micra, bang! done.
  25. Yeh it's incredible, even the cost of my o2 sensor a few pages back OMG! If the firmware update doesn't fix anything, then a thread that GFX sent me sounds like the only option left ( http://x.infinitihelp.com/forum/showthread.php/2007-g35-hesitation-dealer-mystified-ideasi-10652.html ) I break out in a sweat imaging the cost of removing the timing covers and replacing all the seals (oil gallery gasket?) done by Nissan.
