V36 Rev Probs, Firmware Update Anyone?
awsam replied to awsam's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nah, this has been an issue for 5 weeks now, progressively getting worse. I only use BP98. The problem is quite embarasing, annoying, and can't be good for the engine. There's only a couple of dealers in Adelaide, have only been to Unley Nissan so far and they were useless. Infiniti tell me via my email enquiry there is a store/workshop opening here "In the near future" but no further details. Can't remember the brand name, but i've read a aftermarket Cam shaft sensor had a slightly wider plastic clip and can destroy the clip engine side if brittle. I found this brand for $50 per sensor, not inc postage. But can't for the life of me remember details as I dismissed it quickly after reading the issue. Are you replacing just the Cam shaft sensor? I take it you're experiencing similar? -

V36 Rev Probs, Firmware Update Anyone?

I'm not one to usually spend more than 10k on a car, and just can't accept it running this way. There must be something that can be done -

V36 Rev Probs, Firmware Update Anyone?

I can often accelerate through the skipping, quickly hitting 80 for 200mtrs will fix the problem until I next turn the car off & on again -

2008 pv36 sedan btw. -
Just curious if anyone has had the v36 update applied, and where/how this was done? I'm not able to have the source of my pv36's problems found. The car hesitates when taking off from a stopped start, usually at traffic lights. It just skips a beat. Then while driving it continues to skip, feels like it's being pulled or cutting out very quickly every 2-5 seconds. (rev's drop 150-300rpm) I've read there is a update that eliminates this issue, does anyone experience this or has anyone found somewhere to get the update? I have also read that a faulty camshaft position sensor, has anyone else experienced this? I have not tried a reset yet (dc battery, pump brake peddle 10x) from what I've read this is not the answer, but might try anyway. Do I pump the pedal fast/med/slowly? Greatful for any information anyone has, the problem is getting quite bad.

New Remote/key Combo Quoted $450 Adelaide
awsam replied to MikeMcL's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I don't know who Andrew is But am very eager to find somewhere in Adelaide to have a key done (hopefully less than $400 lol) and hopefully the firmware update. -
Willall did a quick and prof job on my service, unfortunately their ob2x wouldn't talk to my car so couldn't figure out what was causing it to cut in and out at low gear cold. Maybe o2 sensor? idk. I will give Japanese Motorsport a visit and see what they have to say about updating.

I have the 08 PV36 which has those options, also has RCA + connector. Not that I use either. I was actually planning on searching for this option as I want to turn them off as not to wear them out.

New Remote/key Combo Quoted $450 Adelaide
awsam replied to MikeMcL's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I went to Unley Nissan in adelaide and they were f**king useless. Had to tell the guy 3 times what kind of car my V36 was, he then eventually said "We won't even look at an import, but we'll do a 40k service for $700" i asked what that included and he simply replied "Filters mate" I enquired about the V36 transmission firmware update and neither he, or his boss knew what "Firmware" meant. Has anyone been able to get the transmission upgrade to stop the auto hesitating and down shifting hard? So getting a new key done is simply having it ordered in, and having the ID and immob code copied? -
Cheers, I went into Willall and booked in (couple of weeks at earliest), although they said it's not normally what they do, and they have very little time due to their track cars.

Hi guys, I have a V36 that I'm trying to get serviced and tinkered with in Adelaide. I went to Unley Nissan and they're f**king hopeless. I asked about the firmware update for the transmission and the guy just cocked his head sideways like a confused puppy. In the end he said they simply aren't interested in imports. They'll charge me $600 for a service but beyond that.. So does anyone in Adelaide with a v36, or 35, know of somewhere I can take it asap with experience? Preferably henleybeach side of the city. Thanks in advance

Change Engine Oil Warning - V36
awsam replied to Haxorz's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Using CamDictionary for Android, that error message posted above says "Oil filter - set distance has been reached, press maintanance button" f**king technology, insane! My second error reads "Engine oil - set distance has been reached. Press the switch information, maintanance. You can set information you chose" Guess I'm due for a service! -

I have the same warning every time I start mine. There's 2, slightly different characters. No idea what it means, there's no other warnings. Does anyone know what it says? -

V36 Nav And Language Swap - Faq
awsam replied to Chris Rogers's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Able to still receive audio from the external device though correct? That would mean I could use an android carputer via aux that would still respond to the cars volume controls and still have instant access to the aircon visuals and the auto reverse cams. How much $$$ posted to Adelaide? I have soooo many Galaxy S2 & S3 mainboards that work, but are imei blocked so only good for GPS & WiFi. Could so easily hide the board under the console. -
Wanted R33 drivers side mirror, working, KH2 Gun metal grey, cheap if anyone has one. Selling my R33 and just trying to cheaply fix a couple of things. sms 0421 460 040

V36 Nav And Language Swap - Faq
awsam replied to Chris Rogers's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Sounds good, where can I buy such a unit? and don't say China No one I've contacted in Adelaide has even seen a PV36, let alone have any idea about it's internals. I'm not understanding what you mean by switching the video out. -
V36 Nav And Language Swap - Faq
awsam replied to Chris Rogers's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Chris, have you seen a Mimmicsx2 before? It basically allows your current touch screen as an input for your phone. Couple of people have hooked a permenant android phone with rca into the console and wire the mimmics to one of the buttons and disable the drive video lock. Seems like it would be the cheapest way, and nothing beats google maps ^_^ But seeing as Mimmics is now impossible to buy I'm trying to figure out another touch input method.
