I think it is wire no 53 - according to the service manual that is the 'vehicle speed sensor' wire. No 52 is the 'crank angle sensor'. Let me know how you go cos' I had the same problem:( Cheers, Mike.

Northside Nissan - see Steve - he's got a Skyline himself.
-
You should be able to get the Nismo key from Nissan. The guy at the local Nissan dealer did me a second GTR key for 40bucks too & if your key has a serial number on it they can cut it at the same time:D & it should suit all Skylines.

Had a similar problem with my R before I got it. The previous owner put Redline Lightweight Shockproof oil in - not only did it fix the problem but every gear change is now very smooth & silky:) Costs about $100 but it fixed my problem & beforehand you had to double-de-clutch every time or you couldn't pick 3rd at all. Hope this helps.

I reckon they'd look much better on a gunmetal grey gtr:D
-
Hey Rhino - best wishes mate. I think you would just about be a record holder as the youngest 'R' owner - well done on making people all over the place feel extremely jealous:lol:

Just a thought re the UHF radios guys: We (err - I mean DSE) are getting some 'home brand' UHF's in soon that have the vox capability & will be much cheaper than the Uniden products but with the same performance. Might be a more cost effective option as I am sure that the price my contact can do will be very good indeed. My recommendation: wait a few weeks till they come through & save some moolas:D

Macka - vox is a 'feature' of the unit, but you need the headset to suit. I am pretty sure that there is an aftermarket headset to suit but there is no stock in WA. I really don't think that the headsets are a good op;tion though due to their expense & I wouldn't think that you guys will be on the radio all the time - if you are it will cost you a fortune in batteries anyway. I would be happy to get the stock to PVA (if that it OK with you Joe) & you guys can give him the money on the weekend.
-
There are three models available: UH-037 About $80 UH-040 About $98 UH-042 About $140 As for the vox headsets, they retail for $97. I can get a price tomorrow but they will still be very expensive. We need to confirm numbers & how we can do the deal - let me know of any ideas. Note that I will be going to Busselton on Thursday to visit the folks so the best time to do it would be tomorrow.
-
Alright fellas - the best I can do on the UH-042's is $93.86 each. This price is normally for a purchase of 100 units or more, so we need to get around 10 people to committ to the buy so that we can make it look reasonable. There isn't much stock in the state, but i should be able to muster up what you need. let me know ASAP so that i can make sure that you get them for the trip on the weekend. Cheers, Mike.

Err...I may know someone who can get a very good deal for you from Dick Smith's:D as some of you would know. Tell me which model you want. If you want my advice - don't worry about all the accessories - if you want something more comprehensive, get a vehicle mounted unit (they start at about $200) as these put out a full 5 watts & with an external antenna the range is faaaarrrrrrr better than a handheld (& you still don't need a licence). Anyway - over to you guys. I got the week off work so i can probably get stock by Friday without any problems. Cheers, Mike.

I think you'll find that Nexus_SiX is tipping you off about where their state office is - Laserline themselves that is. I know that Audiocom install (or used to) Laserline Alarms, so you could also try them. Good luck.

Did this job last weekend - not much fun eh? Best bet is to buy some more EFI hose & cut the old stuff off. Since the hose is so well stuck on as it is you may damage the hose trying to remove it anyway. Save yourself some time & pain & just replace the hose - should only cost about $10-15.
-
Good haul Kyles & Happy (belated) Birthday:) Seems like they are trying to get rid of you with all the household items they are buying you:lol: Hope your sister makes you a salad bowl in woodwork:lol:
-
Yeah - should be awesome:uh-huh: Sounds like great value too Ken as the bloke I spoke to wanted $150-200 for 1 day only - well done as usual! Cheers, Mike.
-
How would you like me to pay? Who's it through - cos' an old comrade of mine does something similar I believe - wouldn't be him, would it? Anyway - top stuff Ken - a great opportunity to really learn to drive a car!
-
I need a couple of bits for my 'R' - somebody must be able to help - please! 1. Clock in dash as mine doesn't work. 2. Reverse light lenses either side of number plate. Apparently the same as those in the R32 gtst. I have tried sourcing through wreckers, etc but their prices are way over the top:mad: Can someone help me out with a reasonable price for these bits? Cheers, Mike.

I wasn't really nervous Chris - pitty some traffic ruined the 'smooth' cornering:D Spoiled our bloody fun having to share the road!
-
Err...I think it was you who took me for the ride mate. If you recall I was the nervous owner & you were the guy with the endless grin who was searching for hapless V8's:lol:
-
Changed the plugs - tuner recommended the same as you Skyz - NGK BCPR7ES. Found out that I already had HKS S35i plugs installed - they are still OK so I will clean them up, check the gap & re-install them when the NGK's are stuffed. Thanks fellas, Mike.
-
What's actually wrong with it? There is a synchro problem on 3rd-4th upshift in my car. The previous owner fixed it with some Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof oil (I think that's it - I can clarify if you want). Costs about $100 but it sure as hell fixed the problem & now the box is nicer than ever. I believe your box is pretty much the same as the one on my car. Hope this helps, Mike.
-
Thanks for the warm welcome back guys:) You can come for a ride anytime Joe. Cheers, MickoGTR.

Well lads, I'm formally one of the fold again. Thanks to our good friend GTR Ken I now have my own GTR sitting happily in the carport:D Pitty about the bloody weather & these wet roads as I haven't had a chance to have a play yet:( Look forward to seeing you guys on the street. Cheers, Micko.
