So I replaced my turbo gaskets and exhaust manifold gasket recently on my r33 gtst, and when driving it I noticed it was boosting higher than normal by about 3psi ( standard is 7 and it was boosting to 10-11), is this only because the new gaskets are holding boost better, and because it's cold tonight? Previously it stayed on 7psi the whole time no matter how cold it was.
Could it also be my solenoid vac lines? I have it all as per standard and even if I swap the vac lines from the top nipple on the solenoid to the bottom one nothing changes. Do the stock tee piece have anything to it or are they just straight through?
I also noticed once the car gets to 4500rpm it does something weird, it kinda coughs and splutters, like a rapid misfiring... Could it be the ecu activating a boost cut mechanism because for some reason it's running over 10psi? Or I thought it could be the fuel pump, or my coil packs or something, would I be able to put it on a dyno and target that kinda that? Or would it more be a trial and error replacing parts.. :S
I'm positive I have everything bolted up and sealed properly so I'm baffled as to what's going on. Any help would be good.
