  1. Uh. They were fantastic. Very much better than the OEM disks. Coupled with various types of better pads, they improved the braking performance out of sight. I sold this car quite a while ago. Miss it still.
  2. Buba, Can you confirm if the car you sold was the white East Bear car that I sold you, with over 110,000km on the clock back in 2012? I was the one who carried out the last bit of the conversion, after it had been almost completed in Japan. Remember? http://www.sau.com.au/forums/gallery/album/4434-new-r34-gtt-east-bear-gtr-conversion/ I bought the car from Top Secret Imports, as the first owner. Or is this some sort of coincidence?
  3. Yes, you've done a wonderful job on the car.
  4. Woah there..Firstly I just stated that it wouldnt be worth it. I was not offering to build it for $80/hour. I am into diy not commercial gain. If you'd like to build them feel free. There is no copyright. Just giving mytake on a oem snorkel arrangement for gtt owners. Thanks ?
  5. I wonder how much an intercooler manufacturer would charge for a special, that was: * return flow or single side flow * thin enough to connect the right size piping, but not effect the reo or fans * had the right CSA to better the OEM cooling effect install * retain all the bumper, underbody and wheel trims as OEM Might make this a task in finding out from people like plazmaman, HDI, PWR, and ARE and see what can be done. It's about time one of them made an FMIC that didn't hack the cars front end up.
  6. suwidji, That would spoil the whole DIY thing mate. LOL. It did the work over two weekends. Two Saturdays, all day, and a bit of one Sunday for the final painting and fitting. In labour terms, it's not worth it. In material terms, it was as follows: * $50 for the compounds and paints * $25 for the 2mm thick aluminium sheet * $3 for the high tensile nuts and bolts Everything else, including jig saws, grinders, sanders, benders, files, and drills were in-house. In other words, I think you could make someone one for under $100, if you didn't want to charge them the labour. The labour factor would add say.............$80 per hour x 17 hours = $ 1,360? OMG
  7. Will post the pics of the lower section showing the Apexi pod and how it is fixed shortly.
  8. Attaching some of the pics as requested.
  9. Refer to attached file. 2nd stage of intake system. Suitable for Apexi pod filter only. R34 GTT OEM Snorkel Inlet DIY Install.pdf

  11. Well done and thanks man. Great job. Wanting to do something like this as well.
  12. Hi guys, For those of you who remember the DIY semi-enclosed Apexi pod aluminium box we put together. The attached photos were the next step. The system works well with no rattles or movement. The cold air from the snorkel is directed down to the pod filter, through an opening in the top plate, with a snorkel adapter fabricated from 2mm thick aluminium. The gaps were plugged with a Maxi Nails product suitable for aluminium. Enjoy, and DIY. Don't forget that this is not a fully enclosed box, but sure runs cooler with the setup. Contact me for further details and templates, or just go to the Gallery. Jim

  14. I was looking for a new set of dampers for the car. The Nissan OEMs are way passed their time. Settled on the Tein Driving Master Super Street Damper. Here are a few places I stopped at to discuss products along the way. Some of the prices are delivered to NSW, some are not. R34 GTT Nismo Car This is the one that got wrapped around a tree (by my wife)
  16. Sorry admin. How about shutting down this post. I've learned my lesson. I'll stick to DIY subjects from here on in.
  17. Can this thread be converted to a cooking lesson instead please. LOL
  18. A bowl of rice AND BBQ prawns too. LOL
  19. Hi xALmoN Hope all is well. The FW power noted, is only approximate. It was proportioned to the original dyno run, when stock. We slotted in the originally claimed 206FlyWkW, with a 154.4 RWkW actual dyno run, and kept the ratios the same all the way down the chart. The interesting outcome, was keeping the same percentage of FWkW to RWkW on the second dyno run, resulted in exactly the right amount of RWkW. Don't forget please, that I only posted this as a result for my car only. Not a gospel on how to convert FWkW to RWkW. To be honest, there is so much involved in that conversion, I would have no hope of figuring it out (I'm a bit challenged) It was just an interesting result. What could actually be happening here is that the FlyWkW is going up or down faster as the power increases, and I wouldn't know it.
  20. Hello all. Hope 2013 finds you well. I have read a lot about owners believing that there was a magic percentage of 25%, for drivetrain losses, to allow a conversion from flywheel kW to wheel kW in a RWD platform. I had always thought this was bunk. Was suprised to compare two dyno sheets from my car over a three year period. The 25% was pretty close. Maybe it's just my car though. Attached is a spreadsheet which progressively matched the dyno runs. This is NOT the gospel, it's just what happened for my car. Jim KW to HPx.pdf
  21. Guys, I have seen a lot of data on this topic. Finally had to replace my Xenon bulbs, so I left a few pics and directions. Hope everyone with Xenon bulbs has the same setup. Please note that my cars both have the Nissan factory xenon system. Note the bulb type and model. Jim ps.................................also note the web site below: http://www.carbulbsdirect.com/au/product/philips-xenon-hid-d2r-85122-single R34 GTT Headlight Bulb Replacement - Xenon Only.pdf
