  1. I wouldn't call that "ricey as hell". As you said, "Jap style" would be a better description. Personally I like the look of that car because it is not overdone. Being white makes it look classy or something. I just can't understand people who spend thousands on bodykit and monster tach etc on a mechanically stock Hyundai Excel. 18" wheels with 6" drum brakes visable???!?!? Gimme a break!! Someone has a signature that sums it up. It goes something like... LOOKS > GO = RICE. GO > LOOKS = Sleeper I know which one I would prefer...
  2. Anyone got one of the HKS wastegate actuators fitted to a stock R33 turbo? How easy is it to adjust your boost with changing the length of the rod? Is this a "better" solution than a bleed valve? Surely replacing the stock actuator with the HKS one would be more stealthy than an add-on bleed valve for "someone" looking under the bonnet. Thoughts anyone?
  3. Shirts arrived a couple of days ago. Already "test driven" the red one. Very nice gear. Had people comment on it too. Worth waiting for...Thanks.
  4. I think you could do a hell of a lot of mods to your RB25 (and the rest of the car too) for the $8k plus alot more in labour that it would cost......
  5. Hey, I saw that one. What did ya get it for FOB? Now comes the waiting................and then you wait some more...............and a little more.............are we there yet?.............on the boat, getting closer every day........ ahhh such fun. Just keep thinking about all the money you are saving over going to a dealer here.
  6. How about a R32 GTS-4 ? Godzilla's little brother. Best thing to do is go to a dealers yard and use them to do your own side by side comparison on looks, sitting in, test drive, etc. Spin them a half-truth about having trouble deciding to buy either 32 or 33, just leave out the part that it won't be from them. heh heh. That's what I did and then gave Geoff at Prestige Motorsports a call to track me down a spec2 R33. I like the fact that it is still under 6 years old and I prefer the looks over the R32. Naturally if I had another 7 or 8 grand I would have gone for a R34. There is something tuff/evil about the R34 front end. Main points have been previously raised. Make sure it is something you can handle and afford. Maybe look at a NA model (R33GTS4 anyone?) until you have some insurance history if you are young. Full insurance may be a killer but not as bad as totalling or loosing your uninsured car.
  7. Ahhhhhh, the waiting. Think of it as automotive foreplay.:uh-huh:
  8. ordered... waiting... waiting... DAMN I hate waiting.
  9. last year was under the old scheme...
  10. I'd hardly call "strengthened rods" a "bolt on" mod...
  11. To some people, the most important thing is just knowing within their own mind that they can blow the doors off what ever stops beside them at the lights. You don't have to actually do it, just know that you could. To others, it is more important to make everyone else think that you could by having your car covered in stickers, a 3 foot high wing on the back and every other rice .... er I mean race ... accessory that you can afford as long as others can see and/or hear it. Funny enough, it seems that the older you get the more interested in driving a "sleeper" you become. Must get me a JZX100 Chaser some day soon. Better to be an Old Fart than a Young Dickhead.
  12. These X vs Y threads SO remind me of two little kids in a playground starting with "Superman could beat up Batman" :argue: and eventually getting round to "My Dad is tougher than Your Dad." :fight!:
  13. People who don't seem to realise that they were given TWO ears and only ONE mouth for a reason. And that if you use them in a similar ratio you just might learn somrthing now and then. Oh, my other fav' is the "5 minute expert". Dickheads who exemplify the expression "A little knowlege is a dangerous thing." Some poor noob will take it that the 5min is an info-god ("No, no, ceramic turbos are stronger than steel and can handle 20PSI no worries" or something like that) and actually follow their advice.
  14. As well as the Civic I forgot to admit to the Bike. Motorcycle : Suzuki GSX550EF Colour: Red Blue White Black Gold (not kidding, needs paintjob.) Year: 1985 Best Feature: The freedom and fun of two wheels... Worst Feature: Volvo drivers. (if you ride, you know what I mean) Performance: Enough to get into and out of trouble. Would I ride it again by choice: No, If I get another bike after this one it will be a "Sunday ride only" Ducati. Commuting is just too bl00dy dangerous. ( DAMN, I'm getting old! ) What would I prefer as a daily driver: Still something like a 3 series Beemer. Like Factor: (the glass is half full ): 6/10
  15. Ah, yeah. G'day from one Briz-Vegas noob to another.
  16. Car : Honda Civic CXI hatch Colour: Red Year: 1997 (the one with the big headlights) Best Feature: Usually gets better than 7L/100km and I hardly drive for economy. Worst Feature: No low down torque, typical Honda engine, you have to wring its neck to get any decent acceleration out of it. (but it does come onto the cam and then it goes ok.) Performance: Better than the excel I had before it, but see note above. Would I drive it again by choice: Yes, but would seriously consider putting it on a force feed diet, if you know what I mean. What would I prefer as a daily driver: Something like a 3 series Beemer. Like Factor: (the glass is half full ): 6/10
  17. Top Shirt, not even going to wait to see if there's another bulk order... The shirt is better than waiting to save a few bucks. Ordered 1 grey (to match car -silver- ) and 1 red because red ones are faster.................:burnout:
