Its too late to order one yes?

Oh and worped the term 3rd party applies to the TAC charge insurance, in that if you injure a '3rd party' or a '3rd party' injures you, its covered
-
Yes i acknowledge i made a mistake in my first post saying it also covered property, As for saying ctp instead of ctp personal injury, i do not believe they are different things, as ctp or compulsory third party 'personal injury' is the only form of compulsory insurance in Australia so thus compulsary third party would automatically refer to personal injury.. But yes i should have clarified it =] End of the day, there is a third party insurance that is compulsary. and yes its for personal injury, and yes its you are charged under the name TAC charge.
-
What im pointing out buddy is that the TAC charge is the name given to the compulsory third party personal injury insurance in victoria, or rather, the name they give to the charge (and that charge is for the insurance), and it was in response to your original comment - "Since when was there a law brought in saying you had to have 3rd party?" Since forever, you just knew the name of the charge on the rego slip .. 'tac charge' (what did you think it was for???? ) and you were also mistaking what i said for third party (property) insurance, which is offered by insurance companies and is not compulsory.

CTP Insurance Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is a type of insurance policy. CTP insurance provides you with protection from a damages claim in the event that you or the person driving your car are the driver at fault in a motor vehicle accident. It provides compensation to the person that was injured or killed. It is called a Green Slip simply because it is green in colour. This is from moneystuff.net.au ; Compulsory Third Party (CTP) or green slip insurance (NSW) In NSW, compulsory third party (CTP) insurance covers you if your car kills or injures another person. The driver of a car that is involved in a car accident is covered if they are not at fault and if the accident involved another car and it's driver was at fault. CTP insurance must be paid before the car can be registered. When you pay this insurance you are given a stamped "green slip". This is your receipt and proof that you have paid for this insurance. Most insurance companies offer CTP insurance and the cost will depend on the: age of the youngest driver type of car The Motor Accidents Authority (MAA) has a website at www.maa.nsw.gov.au that provides information on CTP insurance and how much it can cost. Transport Accident Commission Charge (TAC) (Victoria) If you live in Victoria, a Transport Accident Commission Charge (TAC) is a compulsory third party insurance which you pay at the time of registration. If the car you are driving kills or injures another person and it is your fault, TAC will cover their costs. If you are the driver of a car involved in an accident and it is your fault, you are also covered if you suffer injury. The TAC fee is calculated according to the type of car, its use and its garaged location. Make sure you include these costs in your budget. umm http://www.treasury.act.gov.au/compulsoryt...ct_CTP_faqs.pdf That is a link to a gov site on CTP from the ACT. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleID=36771 Thats an article on insurance in general, mentioning victoria's comulsary "third party personal" insurance (which would be TAC charge) There are more sites but yeah.. Cleary the 'third party' is the other person involved in an accident not at fault? (or the reverse of that?) I'm not trying to be argumentative but it really surprises me that you guys have never heard of it at CTP before seeing your obviously knowledgable guys.

Ok it looks like it has been renamed very recently to TAC charge. I think you will find it is still referred to as Compulsory third Party -alot of companys offer alternate CTP when you goto rego your car you can elect to use them. Car dealerships off 'free CTP ' etc as incentives. - It's the same thing.
-
What i am referring to is the compulsary third party insurance that is covered in your rego (maybe it was renamed to TAC insurance) - and yes for personal injury but either way it is not the same as the similarily named 'third party' / 'third party fire theft' type insurances you can purchase.
-
Umm well when you register your car, included as part of that fee is CTP (compulsary third party) insurance. So if you drive a car, you have CTP, unless you drive an unregistered car, or you drive whilst disqualified from driving -which is highly illegal mainly for the reason that you dont have CTP. And if you damage property, or a hit a person or have any accident you are 100% liable for everthing (and often would never be able to pay it off).

I believe you could drive V8's on the early P plate laws? I did and it was legal, as long as it was under the power to weight ratio. The 33 gts-t in question would be illegal IMO regardless of any paperwork as the system goes by the factory power and factory weight, not to mention the illegal mods. The thing I would be worried about though is that any insurance company that knows what it is doing (i.e all of them), would not pay out a claim, or cover you in any circumstance should you have an accident driving a car that your not allowed to drive. Not sure about the compulsary 3rd party either. edit - But they will obviously insure you and take your money.

less that a meter? no worries thanks

Hi guys, I did a search through the EPA threads but did not find the info i was looking for - yes it may well be in there but i dont have time right now to read through every page (specific searches had no luck too). I just wanted to know, how far away the microphone is when they test the 'loudness' of your exhaust. Because i downloaded this cool decibel app on my iphone, and yeah when i fired my car up it peaked to 96fb ..(illegal obviously), but that was with the phone about a foot away from the exhaust, and it then stayed pretty flat at 92db. Upon moving to about 2 metres away it was sitting at around 88db which is legal. Revving it obviously made it high again, but yeah, just wondering the distance of the mic for the test? Sam

Anyone Know There Bilsteins?
Sam M replied to Sam M's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i will have another look bt when i first did it appeared to be covered where i needed to look -
Hi, My r34 gtt came with bilstein shocks and king springs, I am considering raising it slightly but only if the bilstein shocks have the machined grooves with circlips than I can adjust - (I dont want to replace all the springs). The problem is i know not all bilsteins are like this - and the pedders guy quoted me like $260 just to have a look and tell me (which if the answer is no they're not, im essentially throwing money away). So anyway i had a look under the car and the front shocks have this written on them E4FT2 Z003A01 and the rears.. E4FT2 Z007A00 I assume its some form of part number - and tried researching it too no avail.. I know its a long shot but does anyone know which type of shock this part number belongs too - and weather or not the circlip adjustment of where the springs are attached will be possible? thanks Sam
