  1. Hi all, I'm still in the process of replacing my rotor's and pads. I searched the web and came across an option from EBC Brakes, they have std rotors and pads but they advise that they not suited for the amount of power produced by my vehicle, maybe thats just sales talk, but i didn't want them anyways so i wen't for rotor's that are gold anodized zinc finish for protection against rust etc and they are slotted and dimpled, there part number is GD 7120 for the front and GD 7121 for the rear, they say that the slotting and dimples help break down surface gasses but don't promote cracking which is known to occur with through drilling discs. There is alot more info if you go to thier web page. As for the pads i'm getting thier Redstuff range which they say is suited for very fast/ heavy street use, brakes med from cold, effective to sbove 750 degres C, Lower dust, friction coefficient of 0.5, low disc abrasion and UNDERCAR Digest Top 10 products Award. They also say they are coated with EBC Brake-in surface which conditions rotor surface accelarates pad bed-in, their part number is DP 31636 C for the front and DP 31666 C for the rear. I'm just waiting till my next trip to South Africa to collect them i'm so looking forward to getting them. These rotors are for std Nissan callipers but they do offer products for Brembo fitted calliper Nissan's as well. As for the price they cost me around P6300.00 , Botswana currency is called Pula, which when converted to Au Dollars around $1000.00 or just under. Hope this was usefull and enjoy, Cheers Richard
  2. Hi there everyone, Ihave a V35 skyline 250GT 03 Model. I got it from a car dealer who imports vehicle internationally. There is so far nothing wrong with the vehicle but i am curious about a small black button on the right hand side lower console just to the left of the boot button. I see it is an autopal button but i don't have a clue what it is for and i'm not sure whether i should press it to find out or if i do i would regret doing so. If anyone might have an idea as to what this button could be for i'd appreciate the response. The vehicle has the NATS SYSTEM ALARM and as far as i know thats it the key is an original key and i don't use any other device to arm and disarm the alarm. Cheers Richard
  3. Hi Andy, Thanks for the heads up, so did you have to replace the sensor? If so can you remember any part numbers and what the cost was.Did you need to reset the computer or does it sort itself out once you start up? Thanks again cheers, Richard
  4. Hi All, My car did a strange thing this morning, i had just left the house and was about 1km down the road at the intersection when as i accelarated it cut out twice but picked up again almost instantly as i took my foot off the accelarator. I wonder what could be the cause as it was fine for the rest of my journey. Has anyone experienced this? Cheers Richard
  5. Thanks alot it's appreciated, Cheers Richard
  6. Hi guys, thanks for the tips, xtc i agree with you that my car is prob different since it's a 250GT but still in the process of trying to find out the correct part number the one on my car is a pitwork oil filter #AY 100-NS004, if you or anyone else could advise me of the correct or a cross ref of this filter i'd appreciate it. Hey prdreilly i had a Donaldson filter, leak around the seal on my Isuzu 2.8TD PICK UP, also made in indonesia and all they did was give me a fram filter to replace it. Thats here in Botswana Africa so yes all of you out there watch out for these type of filters made in indonesia, Cheers,Richard
  7. Hi guys, Thanks for all the info i found the rec plugs for my car from that great thread on plugs, Cheers, Richard
  8. Hi guys, anyone know what plugs i should use in my V35 250GT, VQ25DD engine n/a, thanks Richard
  9. Hi all, I have a few q's the filter some of you guy's mention being the correct one to use is a z445 who is the manufacturer, where i live the manufacturer is GUD,is it the same that side. I believe Fram is the next best thing here they say it's made from cellulose as appossed to the old paper fibre. Could i also ask where the fuel filter is situated and it's part number if anyone has it. I also want to do a service but i'm not sure what oil they use in japan, i'm aware if you mix a syn oil with a mineral base your engine oil goes to sludge and your engine well "stuffed",any advice will be greatly appreciated. Cheers Richard
  10. Hi rs73, Just signed up i'm #18
  11. Hi there, Nice wheel's, sorry out of my range.
  12. Hi guys, Looking for more advice, on the rear right hand side, behind the rear wheel, retained by two bolts and concealed by a plastic cover is a black cylindrical plastic artifact which some fuel lines are connected to. I would like to know if it is the fuel pump or if it is a fuel filter? Cheers Richard
  13. Hi guys, I'm looking for advice on removing the exhaust cat's on my car?I'm not sure if it is a good idea, i would like to let my engine breathe a bit better and increase the tone of my exhaust. I removed the rear silencer and the tone is noticeabley louder, i don't have the luxury of a wide choice of aftermarket exhaust supplier's only the local part's store. They have a nice no name rear free flow muffler but it will take alot of work to adapt. Out of interest are the cat's located just after the "lamder" sensor ,where there is a flange which bolts to a rather large dia pipe which is incased in a sort of heat deflector casing and it's prob about just over 0.5metre long , which then bolts onto a "Y" pipe which inturn bolts onto the centre muffler all the way to the rear which then bolts onto the rear silencer. Some advice is greatly appreciated.
  14. Hi there, thanks Chris for the head's up
  15. Thanks alot,cheers
  16. Hi in town about 8km/lt on the open road traveling around 120km/hr probabley about 11km/lt. The hand book say's 12km/lt but not sure of there speed. Our fuel is only 93 octane maybe i should use some avgas or put in a octane booster. What you getting and with what octane fuel, cheers.
  17. Hi there guys, maybe i'm a bit green at you guy's terminolagie but what does rwkw stand for i've never been to a dyno before is this where this term originates. If the spec's fof a 250GT state 215ps@6400rpm and 27.5KGM@4400 what figures should i expect on the dyno if my ride is bog std.As for my 1/4 mile time i don't know it but in auto ,normal, i only get to around 120km/h and in manual, triptronic, with the power light on i only get to around 130km/h and in both cases absolutely no wheel spin. Maybe i don't know the technique of getting off the line, cheers
  18. I agree could be a bearing, on the other hand it could be the backing plate touching on the outer circumfrence of the disc maybe whilest changing the pads etc your backing plate could have taken a tweeking, just maybe, check it out.I had it on my car but that,s because the way they stack the car's in the container they have to remove the wheels mine must have been on the bottom so it was sitting on the backing plate and they do cover the disc slightly so they bent with the wieght and were rubbing on the disc, hope you find the problem, cheers.
  19. Hi there guys, as for what type of fluid's to use for a service on your vehicle i would try to do as much homework as possible. I have a 250GT auto and it came with no handbook etc and to make it worse nissan weren't interested in helping me out at first so i went online and found a company called datamanuals they had a download version and a disc version for a Infiniti G35 so i bought it and once i had it i found all the info i needed but it is for the 3.5lt engine so anyway i started looking for the atf fluid which they state should only be genuine nissan matic-j or else say good bye to the box.So i went to nissan and they dont know of it ony matic-d but that was not compatible any way i carried on scratching around here and there till i found a number of compatable atf fluids eg mobil 1 syn, dia queen sp III,which is used by mitshubushi and KIA, and transmax j from castrol. I could only get the dia queen immidiately but i wasn't to sure if at all it was the correct fluid so i carried on looking for info on my nissan and found another manual come handbook from a company in nz which does translations from japanesse to english so i bought that book and when i got it i found out it was really a hand book more than anything else but very helpfull none the less and money well spent but now when i see there specs on the atf they state it to be matic-d hence i say you need to do your home work as for engine oil they say 5w-30 partial synthetic.I just double checked and for a vq25dd 4wd,vq30dd,vq35de coupe one must use matic-j.If you have a cvt vehicle vq35de,sedan, use nissan gen CVT fluid KTF-1.If you have a manual vq35de you need to use nissan gen manual transmission oil MP-G HQ(API;GL-4 SAE:75W-90). If any more info required and i can help i will, cheers
  20. Hi i acquired a copy of the G35 Infiniti manual on a cd. It's very good but yes it's not for the V35. I'm still looking for the correct manual.I got an English handbook for the V35's and that's great also from nz publisher, cheers

  25. Hi i have a 03 250GT with a vq25dd engine. My accelaration is not good off the line but once the rpm gets to about 3000 it starts to pull well right up to the point where the speed limiter kicks in at around 185km/hr. What engine model does your car run?
