  1. Car has now been written off and paid out thanks to having the best insurance company in the country- Shannons. No fuss or hassles, money in the bank within 2.5 weeks of being stolen. Nonetheless, I will pay 4 figure reward to anyone who can help me find the car and the people responsible. I suggest not doing this if said people are your family or friends.
  2. condolences mate. how did they steal it without the keys? mine was stolen 3.5 weeks ago but keys were taken from the house. Similarly, cops couldnt catch a cold let alone thieves. they seemed to take it a bit more seriously when I was speaking to the detectives who were put on the case and I noted that 'its a highly modified race car that will kill in the wrong hands. In the right hands you will not be able to catch it. I suggest you look harder before either of those eventualities occur...'
  3. been here a few times myself. basically if Danny is tuning or you are having an engine build done, then some good work can come out. Otherwise, several very bad experiences for me too. This was a few years ago tho and iv kept away since...
  4. ah, then fitment and the issues with a wheel that size on a gtst is up to you. meh, there is nothing in it and speedos are designed to over-read the speed. If in doubt either get the speedo adjusted or just go through/ drive with a calibrated speed sensor to work out how far off your speedo is from true speed.
  5. yeah they do look good but that will rub on a gtst. how much depends on tyre size and camber etc.
  6. you don't note the car it is going on. If it is a GTR (which im assuming as that is a GTR fitment wheel) then why not get some 285's (35/18) on there?
  7. yeah the wiring 'harness' is different between the models so you cant just plug the s1 button pad into an s2 door's wiring harness (and vice versa)
  8. a tune shouldn't make a car chew more fuel unless you are really relentlessly using the extra power that a tune has unleashed. otherwise, that kind of fuel usage certainly points to an issue somewhere and the solution is bound to be in the list mentioned above. take it to a reputable shop that knows skylines and get them to go thru the list testing the various components.
  9. if ur in perth 'hybrid customs' in Welshpool http://hybridcustoms.com.au/ has the mould for virtually that bumper. He is good too so can probably sculpt it to look exactly like that if desired. Nice looking bumper
  10. keep us posted on the character, mods, output and $. Be good to hear about from an RB guy...
  11. I think it was 800 or 900 (including steering wheel, parcel shelf and the door cards which im yet to do). That was back in 2008- ultimate auto trim. they are in Victoria. http://www.ultimateautotrim.com/
  12. iv got to say much of this thread has been this. For basic get it up to good working order and bolt-on-and-go-ease (and cost), the GTST murders the ZX. Of course you get stuck into it and you have a 3L twin turbo motor which will always hold some good aces based on that. Most of the notable examples put down here of the ZX (and that iv ever seen) are built versions with the full monty thrown at them. And when they have noted the $$ tag it took to get there, it is eye watering.
  13. most appreciated mate. Nothing excessively that will stand out overall tho the motor has all the stage 1/2 mods so certainly plenty to strip and try to sell... coilpack valley cover is a custom metal on with HKS Nismo etc embossed in it and is painted in a matte metal colour as is the cam belt cover. Greddy profec II Spec B. 52mm alloy radiator with twin 12" thermos on metal bespoke shroud. BC coilovers red camber arms. The bodykit and wheels (18" Starcorps [deepdish rear]- black centres and polished lip) aren't available anymore. Exhaust is a straight cannon Kakimoto racing with stainless high flow cat and stainless split dump pipe, . otherwise if you were close to it to see inside the black and white leather interior with Nissan embossing iv not seen anywhere else in perth.
  14. dang. bad weekend for skylines.
  15. It would be a strange 'modification process' to do the intake plenum first before turbo or other mods. But then again iv seen stranger processes taken with skylines. It could also be a car that was de-modified before sale and it was just going to be too hard to remove the plazmaman plenum, hence why it is still there...
  16. yes it seems like that and that they are already being reigned in with stuff being found. no sign of the car yet tho it seems...
  17. yeah they ransacked my mates house to get them. also have the keys to the GSXR 750 but didn't take it. Try and ride it cocksuckers, id like to see your flesh like a crayon down the road....
  18. they are strong bits of kit if they are well maintained and not abused. and yeah, fully syns are only used if you want the highest performance and longevity in a part. otherwise for most OEM they don't bother. Ur mum driving down the shops n to work doesn't need fully syn, it just wont make a difference except in price. Iv got 320hp atw pumping through it and I use it as often as I can including some track work. So she gets the fully syn
  19. Hey people, House was just broken into and my car was just stolen from the southern suburbs of Perth It was in a stored state under a car cover (flat, disconnected battery). So unsure if its been jumped (likely I guess) or towed. Car is an R33 GTST, series 1. Reg plate YF12WA (as seen in second pic) Full GTR/Jun bodykit and deep dished starcorp wheels. Full black and ivory leather interior. If seen or anything is known please call police immediately or otherwise PM me here. cheers
  20. so you mean a forward facing plenum like an RB26/GTR? n how do you mean hideous oversized? I thought the GTST one was the hideous oversized one if we were to judge? pics?
  21. Really the difference between fully synthetic oils only matters when you are tracking or running some really high power etc etc. Otherwise mobil 1 is fine if a bit overpriced for what the product appears to be these days and in comparison to the competition. I use Castrol Edge titanium 10-40. Good oil, often comes up on special at repco etc. Im using the Castrol fully synthetic gearbox oil and diff oil too. Works really good and certainly improved the feel of both. mine is 93 GTST with 170k on it and the box still shifts smoothly and the diff locks up well. I can remember the names of them exactly but look it up in the oils thread n you will sus it.
  22. also depends what oils have been put in the diff n gearbox prior and what you want from it. If they were just standard oils then id go for full syn's to treat them with as much love as possible and keep them performing as highly as possible for as long as possible. Especially if you have rebuilt the motor. Iv not met a skyline owner who didn't say that the gearbox and diff felt immensely better after a change and use of a very good fully syn that's tried and tested for these cars.
  23. iv got a kakimoto cat back on my R33 and its a mild steel. Starting to get holes in it now from age/rust. Its not worth fixing unless you have a welder at home. otherwise the cost for a place to do it would be wasted as its going to go again...
  24. looks very nice! maybe compose a full for sale thread with the mods for a good chance of moving it?
  25. now there is a big, heavy piece of work that suffers very horribly with the age most of them have under the belt now... Gorgeous IMO and otherwise massive potential. but the challenges of getting it there are too great...
