Well I don't know what is going on down your way but the shifter actually goes in to the transfer case (gtr) and not the gearbox as the transfer case bolts to the gearbox, Did you get another transfer case with the box, the smaller bush is for a R34 the larger bush is R32/R33 Dave

Yes you can only use the R34 transfer case on the Getrag, the earlier transfer case has 5 bolts mount when the R34 has 6 bolts and the shifter is different so you have to have the R34 shifter as well.

there is no reason, you will have to get the original cross member for the getrag ,the R34 rear tailshaft and the front tail shaft as the getrag is 20mm longer than a 5 speed.. it will bolt straight in, You use the R33 speedo drive it will work but the speedo will be reading incorrectly as the gearing in the R34 in higher.

A 1 piece Carbon fibre shaft from PST in Florida is the only way to go , half the reciprocating mass and was $1500 landed in Aus. Has got 1350 uni in the front a lot stronger and lighter if you have the money...

As Beer Baron said the shifter goes into the transfer case not the gearbox, make sure the fluid level is ok in the transfer case, if it is ok then the clutch pack in the transfer case is shagged.. or a worn bearing but this is unusual..

MR RB30 you will get idiots trying to make ridiculous offers, put it on MY105 at least you have people with the money.. I had a 6 speed Getrag with all the PPG gear set ect for sale on this forum, all I got was tools sending me text messages with stupid offers... ( i dont work for My105 either) Half of the readers don't even know what the gearbox is.. you will be sick of the stupid questions, Good luck with the sale anyway and take a sedative you will need it...

Hey Willo, Dont listen to the wankers on here, let them find out what is cost to build a car like yours.... 58K is no where near enough and considering just the basic car is a VSPEC II you cant even buy this car in Japan for that... If the noise is only when the car is hot then it is not too bad, if it does it all the time then you have to get something done now... you wont need a new clutch unless your one now is shot..
