  2. Duh in 2000, the 1997 car is only 3 years old. Hey if you wait another 10 years you'll be able to pick up an R34 GTR for only $20K. The people paying $75K now for an R34 GTR are getting ripped! (NOT)
  3. Umm, the GTR doesn't require more skill to drive than a GTST. With ATTESSA it's harder to spin out, and the power delivery is more linear so there's fewer "surprises".
  4. Hmm, I think it will upset the weight balance of your chassis.
  5. I don't think it's pretending unless they stick a GTR badge on it. Otherwise it's just an R34 with a nice custom job.
  6. He he. Bring back the bug-eye!
  7. In 1999, Renault took over Nissan: http://www.detnews.com/2003/autosinsider/0.../a01-306486.htm
  8. I have to make the point that many of us love our Nissan's because of their fine work with forced induction. And I have to agree with the other person in this thread that is bored to tears by Nissan's current lineup. Consolidation or no consolidation, Subaru is making more exciting new cars than Nissan to be perfectly honest, and they seem to be doing OK financially (correct me if I'm wrong)?
  9. That's actually a good idea. $3000 on a trip to Japan to save $20000 is a good investment. Plus you get to immerse yourself in the culture that created the beasts.
  10. Auto is good when you don't want to control the car. Just sit there and stand on the accelerator. Where's the driver skill? The great thing about auto is that the car shifts for you, and you don't have to be bothered with changing the gears. Heck, why not just not get in the car, and attach a remote control to the car. That way, the auto car is almost fully automated, you just stand by the side of the road and hit the green button to make it go. You even get to save that 80KG of fat your skeleton hauls around, improving the power-to-weight ratio. No way, manual is the way to go.
  11. Mazda 6 Turbo is coming.
  12. I think this line threw all of us. He should have worded the question like this to save confusion: "Which of these cars is the fastest over the 1/4 mile?"
  13. Among other things, when I said Nissan selling their soul, this includes giving away the forced induction. No doubt the VQ series is a well-engineered engine, but that's not the point. If it's good enough for Opel, Ford, Mazda, Mitsubishi etc to be releasing new models with turbos then why isn't it good enough for Nissan?
  14. So that's where my GTR badge went (thieves)!
  15. Then obviously the R34 is better overall. Ask yourself two questions: 1. Is money an object? 2. If no to 1., then which car would I take if I was offered one (and only one) of the three, for free?
  16. Yeah, Nissan + Renault = Nissan sold its soul.
  17. Yeah, mine still had the boost restrictor (which is a good sign). Only mods were exhaust, speedo, CD player. Even have stock rims. I don't know about this "returning to stock" concept. Wouldn't it be more expensive to return a highly modified vehicle than to just sell as is, than to buy stock parts and reattach them to sell for just one or two grand possible premium?
  18. Yeah it's just the backlog of waiting for a ship that is your main problem at the moment. That said Geoff hasn't been adding any cars to his list lately, so maybe he's staying quiet for a reason?
  19. Probably prior to the new SEVS scheme which came in in 2003, which is a lot more restrictive?
  20. Does anyone have a complete parts list of what went into it?
  21. car cover. That way people can't see what it is and they need to suspiciously fiddle with the cover to take a look.
  22. Damn, if I had to make the trip I'd take a bunch of octane booster bottles and some jerry cans of PULP.
  23. 3-spoke Advan racing wheels.
  24. Nah don't buy it. Let me!!!!
  25. Here's some good examples of the flaring and non flaring: GTT http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=1191 GTR http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=823 But year I agree it's not as obvious as on the 32
