  1. Hi all, Just havign a quick problem with the mirrors in my Series 1 R33, the power (retracting and going back out) mirrors don't work at all, i can adjust mirror angles etc. but the actual mirror doesn't work, the driver's side one retracts but won't go out when i hit the switch and the passenger side does nothing. Fuses seem OK, I checked them all the other day (being a tad anal about it), seem OK, maybe a motor? Anyone had a similar problem? Cheers
  2. oh the budget is around the 20k area,no labour costs involved just tuning, the only thing i'm wary of is with bigger turbos you need higher rpm, and RB30 cranks aren't known for their perfect harmonics at higher revs so where the 26 would be laughing and saying MOAR BOOST the RB30 would be a bit dodgy and losing stability. I know the fact of the RB30 stability issue from an example given in one of my engineering lectures in engineering design, it came up as the lecturer loves skylines haha, wasn't perfectly balanced from factory
  3. Hey guys, What does everyone think in regards to going with a hybrid motor aka rb25/30, or going with a stroker and rb26 head? The main build plan is just for a dirty old r31 with a big dash of sleep =D then take it to dyno days and snap ridiculous boost into it, see how well it takes it Myself building it, with a good mate who's a qualified mechanic (and knows RB's pretty well) Opinions? I'm not overly a fan of the rb25/30, the plan was a stroker with rb26 head as the 26's love revving more, but i'm interested to see what people have to say?
  4. hey guys, Another weird question about brakes. A mate of mine has R33 brakes upgraded on his R32, but where the large, bulky round bit is in the centre of the caliper (where the nissan logo sits) his has been ground back to sit flush with the rest of the caliper... Has anyone else done this before? I hate the clearance i have to deal with when looking at rims, i want maximum dish! especially when my cross factory +60mm wider rear guards get here, i don't want to run much offset, i want huge dish! Just curious if anyone else here has done it or would recommend alternative options?? Cheers
  5. late reply, yeah I made these on Photoshop, here's some new ones
  6. There's several good tuners in Brisbane, I normally live in Toowoomba though so it's not a big deal for me, Ben Hunt at Rotary Motorsport is good but he mainly deals in MoTec and Haltech and Microtech, however I hear that Godzilla, Mercury and EFI are all good Link tuners and EFI deals in them too
  7. Kiwi, I live in Bundaberg and I'd trust the local tuners about as far as I could throw them... there's one and every import he's tuned has over-fuelling problems. tm_r33, it's only an E6x not a PS2000 or even 1000.. I'd take rob's opinion anyway, they seem a lot more user friendly than haltechs TBH, just trying to gauge people's opinion on them
  8. Hi all, Just have a question regarding EMS, I recently got offered a Haltech E6x for $1100 cash, brand new from the US, long story short, mate got it but can't get it wired for his custom setup, so has offered me it. However, my mechanic (who owns an RB25/30 R33 pulling close to 800rwhp and who knows every inch of a skyline back to front) recommends using Link computers. I'm just debating at the moment whether to go get the Haltech or save the extra $500 up and order the Link in. I'm looking at features at the moment and Haltech doesn't seem to describe theirs very well, the benefit of the Link is that I can plug it in on standard looms and run it straight outta the box, take it to somewhere in Brisbane, get it tuned and have anti lag installed (switchable of course haha) So ultimately, what do you guys all recommend? Haltech or Link? Or anything else Link-based? Cheers
  9. where did you get the loom for yours? I'm buying one soon off a guy locally but it was for a custom application (falcon turbo lol) so i need a skyline loom...
  10. yeah DJR81 is on the money, nismo does most of these parts upgraded through RHDJapan but only the control/transverse arms, otherwise for tie rods and such I'm probably going to have to go non-Nissan. Thanks for the help though
  11. Also, just curious as to what a transverse arm is classified as? it's a relatively straight bar but im just unsure whether it's a control arm or something like that? I'm brilliant at motor stuff but when it comes to handling i'm a hopeless case!!!
  12. thanks a ton Duncan, that really helped me out heaps... It just doesn't handle like it used to since it was crashed, steering seems a tad sluggish and unresponsive. The mechanic is going to have a good solid look over it all.. Any recommendations for tie rods or anything like that? I had a look through RHDJapan, and there are tons of them: Kazama, Nismo, GT-One Motorsports, Cusco, URAS, Tein, Ikeya Formula (Rather exxy but apparently the best in terms of quality), some by Powered by Max, Moonface Racing, Yanack or Trust!! I was thinking already about whiteline bars, and upgrading bushings where possible, the car is reasonably low already (100mm from the ground, at legal minimum height), I just want it to handle a tad better as it was partially why the crash occurred (that and me being a dickhead in the wet, learnt my lesson not to do that on shitty tyres anymore!!) Also, roughly how much did you end up spending, from rough guesses it would have been between 2 and 3 grand? or a bit more?
  13. Hey all, just after some help.. I have been planning on doing an upgrade to all the undercar parts (arms, links etc..) for a while, as I think some are a bit damaged from age/hard driving/thrashing and a minor crash in the last few years (myself, but apparently an old owner had a minor bit of damage as well), anyway I think it's time for an upgrade. What my question is is exactly what parts are there under the car in terms of links, arms, etc... I understand that there is front upper and lower and rear upper and lower control arms, traction rods etc. etc. but i've just been a bit concerned cos i'm using RHDJapan as a parts supplier, but I'm actually unsure what to buy as from what i can gather, parts go under different names? Basically I want to upgrade everything for adjustability, and also to run it round a track every so often, so exactly what parts are under there? Oh, and I have the HICAS locked if it helps.. Any help appreciated. I'll start it off with Front upper and lower control arms Rear upper and lower control arms
  14. do you have the front indicator and driving light bar section from the front bar? desperately need it!! 0413 475 969 can have money on tuesday
  15. do you still have the front bar? i need the indicator/driving light section for a series 1, same as 1.5, need those front panel lights!!
  16. update/bump - chasing R34 gtr six speed!
  17. Hey guys. Chasing an R32-33-34 GT-R 6 speed box or S15 6 speed box for my 33. Need it reasonably soon. Show me what you got! I'm willing to spend up to $800 on a box. Also, if anyone has any 260Z spares let me know too! Cheers
  18. gearbox still available? I'm chasing a 32 or 33 gtr box, for 6 speed conversion into my gtst. yes i know what to do to convert to gtr box lol if you're selling it how much? PM me I'm located in Toowoomba as well so I imagine you'd be close to where I am. Cheers
  19. Hi all, These are some of my backgrounds, I've made them for 1280x800 in HD.. I've resized one to 1920x1080 i think.. anyway, enjoy. R34 Z-Tune iPhone background
  20. i've done a fair few, i can't do bases for shit but i work on them and modify them a fair bit... here's a couple i've done (various cars) S14 Sil80 Strobed for an avatar R33.4
  21. sorry for late reply it's complete, as far as i know, i have the majority of wiring for pretty well a whole S1 R33 email me u1004525@umail.usq.edu.au
