Pod Box Fully Sealed For Bonnet Scoop
5ky-lin3 replied to 5ky-lin3's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Attacked it this afternoon. Got the box done and the seal with a foam cut out. The foam still needs a bit of trimming to fit perfect and look a bit cleaner but I'm happy with how it's gone so far -

Pod Box Fully Sealed For Bonnet Scoop
5ky-lin3 replied to 5ky-lin3's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks I'll give the foam a go on top of the box then cut it so all edges are touching the hood with roughly the same force then I'll have the print for a rubber seal. Might use chalk so I can remove it from the hood and have several goes at getting the seal right on each edge. Sent from my iPhone using SAU Community -
Hey guys, Just received my carbon bonnet which has a scoop for the air intake And now need to make a POD box. It's simple enough to make a normal box such as the one found in this thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/208224-making-a-professional-heatsheildpod-coverair-box-at-cost/ But I want to make one that has a seal around the bottom of the bonnet (top of box) where the scoop is to make sure the air is going where it should. I would think for this that I would need to form a compressive rubber seal the bonnet can sit on but unsure how to go about actually measuring the heights needed around the box walls to keep the seal on the bonnet??? I mean it's pretty hard to close the bonnet and see how high the walls and then rubber lining needs to be?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Dallas Sent from my iPhone using SAU Community

Hey guys, Was just wondering whether anyone has run the methanol injection through their stock washer tank and had any problems with the methanol degrading the plastic container over time? I want to run mine through the stock container to keep everything fitting well in the bay but unsure if the methanol will chew it away over time or because it is distilled 50/50 whether that is enough to prevent it? Any help would be great! Cheers

Hey Guys, Just wanting a bit of help to remove the stock solenoid. I run a Power FC so I'm not sure if just having the plug disconnected and taped off would be ok or whether it still sends some kind of reading to the ECU? Have included a couple of pictures to show what I mean.

Intercooler Piping Accessorie Locations
5ky-lin3 replied to 5ky-lin3's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Has anyone placed the BOV turbo side? I figure it would be ok if it was venting atmo cause it would be disposing hot air and if it were plumb back would be better on the cold side to recirculate the cold air back -

Just want the Afm in the piping so I don't have to put a restrictor on the turbo intake. Even though it would effect it bugger all I think it'd look a little clear being the same size all the way to the filter. Would it be easiest to just have the AFM throttle body side of cooler and have BOV turbo side and vent it back to intake piping? -

So the original way is correct if its to atmo? Being BOV throttle body side of AFM? Air that is lost to atmo that has been measured by the afm already can be tuned to compensate? -
Need Tips On Installing A Screamer Pipe Rb25Det
5ky-lin3 replied to SLY333's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Worst thing I ever did was to put a screamer onto the stock turbo. Sounded like a tractor right up to the point that it caused a leak -

That makes sense that the AFM should be on the throttle body side of the BOV adaptor.. Yeah I have a PFC. Doesn't make a difference if the BOV was plumb back or athmospheric does it? -
Hey guys, I'm about to get some intercooler piping made up for my r33 rb25det and just want to confirm some things. Because I have fitted a forward facing plenum and new turbo I'm planning on shifting the afm to the piping ( throttle body side) and will also have on that same piping from the intercooler to the throttle body the BOV, spot for water meth injection and a spot for the ACC valve from the plenum. Things will be tight so not sure as yet if the AFM will definitely be relocated but that's the plan. However I need to confirm what order these 4 things go in and the spacing. At the moment I think it would go in this order (being closest to throttle body first and close the intercooler last): water meth (80mm from TB), ACC (100mm from TB), BOV (200-300mm from TB), AFM (close to intercooler as possible). If this is not correct please let me know. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers

Hey guys just been installing my greddy plenum on my rb25det after following the awesome guide done in the DIY section but have a small question. When replacing the old plenum with the new one I believe there are 5 bolts that are too long. I think there may be a few more that aren't perfect but just want to know which ones are too long? I have attached pic of bolts below. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Hey guys, Just been installing my new gt30 and have just started to put the feed/drain lines for water/oil on. However with the kit I got, for the oil feed line there are two different bolts. One for turbo and one for the feed spot on the block. I'm not sure which way they go around as one of them actually has a smaller feed hole (see pic). Any help is appreciated! Cheers

Hey guys I'm taking my car to the tuners again in the near future and need some advice on what to run psi wise through my wastegate and ebc so I can buy some springs. I've been told to get springs for the wastegate that would be 4-5psi less than what I'll run the ebc at when I want higher boost. What boost would be suggested for my setup ?? Just an update on what I will be running; Current r33 rb25det unopened. Bosch intank 040 adjustable BOV BP Ultimate POD Power FC 3inch exhaust (dump/front/decat) - 3.5 decat back to cannon FMIC Greddy Plenum GT3076r .82a/r Turbosmart 50mm Progate Fuel rail to suit top feed injectors siemen 700cc injectors Z32 AFM with tomie plug 6boost highmount manifold EBC - Greddy profec II Snow performance water/meth injection Tomie cams Cam gears Gaskets -intake and exhaust Fuel reg Splitfire coilpacks Catch can Water/oil lines for turbo New dump pipe and wastegate dump to suit Think that's about it. Any help is appreciated. Cheers

Hey guys, Looking for a manifold to suit my rb25 and gt30 T3/4bolt turbo with an external wastegate. Preferrable 6boost! Exhaust to suit would also be great! Thanks, Dallas
