Auto Transmission Problem
BundyBear replied to R33_ACT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
would really like details on this, anyone ever work out just what was drilled and how big?? -
OK 6 yrs to late but... I converted my 33 from manual to auto, I run an adaptronic ECU piggybacked to the stock ECU,as far as the conversion you'll need to swap the dash harness, install the TCU and I swapped the front fuse/relay harness to match up to the auto box's harness, I'm running 260KW at the rear and have run 270Kw manual cars, they will get me of the line but before their outa 1st I'm level pegging and pulling away, no clutch= no lag = constant booooost = happy me !! and that was with a slow change to 2nd box was completely stock and lasted 6 months (no idea what its previous life was but suspect it was thrashed). putting a new low Km box in atm with the welsh plug mod so see how that goes

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well the old girls been dyno'd. seems we lost 40kw peak power but gained 40kw through the mid range. A bit disapointing but the extra mid range will make up for it in driveability. not sure why weve lost peak power as on paper we should have gained. compression is 150 across all 6 (dry and warm). Ive heard people say (since building it) the neo has slightly a slightly different intake diamiter so were planing on doing some measurements and maybe swapping the lower half of the intake to a neo and matching the cut n shut 33 top half and see what that does- 12 replies

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Neos are more efficient and definatly stronger than a s1 25. Ringlands, oil pump issues have been fixed (im sure neo arent perfect but better than the old ones). Were suspecting thr neo block is lighter as the car seems to sit a tad higher amd seems lighter in the steering. But thats pretty subjective...hopeing to get her on the rollers monday to get some numbers- 12 replies

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
We already had an aftermarket top feed rail. So there was no great advantage we could see to running the 34 plenum given the extra work involved in using the 34 one.. which plenum gasket is better in the 34? The one between the two halfs or manny to head?. Did your injector harness plug straight into the 33 harness?- 12 replies

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
We used the inlet manifold, injecters and harness of the 33 so we minimised and wiring issues. I think my mates still got the neo inlet manny so we should be able to check the plugs- 12 replies

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Na we originally looked at pics in a few parts catalogs amd they look quite different. Our tuner also confirmed their not interchangable.. i just went to my local wreakers and snipped an injector plug of an old pulsar that had a dammaged harness (i dont like cutting plugs of a harness someone could use one day but if its Already munted then snip away). I wired it in leaving the old plug just incase but we wont go back to non-neo so the old one could have been cut off- 12 replies

RB25DET Neo into a R33 Gtst with 33 box Hey Guys, My mate and I have just finished converting his R33 GTST to a RB25 Det Neo, so I thought Id doc the process and what we used of each car Block, head, sump is all Neo Inlet manifold is s1 with a cut n shut top half including throttlebody exhaust manifold is aftermarket from the s1 enginemounts, we used the R33 ones but neo are the same alternator, power steer, A/C are all s1 including the brackets thermostat housing we used the 33 s1 part so we could use the same bottom hose but if u use the neo housing then just use a neo bottom hose coilpacks we used the s1 packs as their only a few months old but they do not fit in the head valley so we made a bracket and mounted them elsewhere WIRING CHANGES vct plug needs swapping to a neo one or EV1 injector plug I beleive is the same CAS wires need to be swaped...ie 1234 becomes 4321 thats it....because we used r33 stuff everything else stayed the same pics to come

So maybe my stags box voped a hiding before i got it??. The stag got a new filter and fluid (3 changes infact) when i got it cause it was slow to shift up to 2nd. Was hopeing it just needed a service but its gone down hill the last yr with mostly driving the kids around but every sau cruse sees it get worse (not flogged but driven spirited) the 33s box has stayed the same and coped a hiding. Its veen sujested i try transmac Z in the 33 amd see gow it goes...my mate runs it at 300kw ànd has done for a while but hes also had a lot done to the box in his -

Mines on boost around 3500. Bugger all lag but first to second shift is a little slow (always has been) unless i peddal it a bit then it shifts fine. Ive also got a s2 stag (34 gtt running gear) thats running 240kw and box is slipping, shifting slow and droppimg into limp mode...sujjests to me the 01a box is stronger than the 01b?? Both boxes have run penrite 10 10ths -

R33 series 1 sedan. Manual shell converted to auto. S2 rb25det, 555cc side feed inj, precision 5858 (18psi atm), freedy ffp, 3" stainless turbo back (steel dump). Running an adaprtonic 420d piggyback. Running a 4.1 limmo. Head gasket and studs still stock for now! Auto was apparently built when i got it but no idea what (if anything) was done but 3 months on the road and still going so maybe it has had work done! Havnt done a qtr yet but expecting mid 12s? Lovn the auto but really needs a higher stally to get of the line better..maybe a transbreak to lol -
Gts and gtst are interchangable. GTRs aside all s1 are swapable with all s1 amd all s2 are swappable with s2. S2 may bolt onto an s1 buy wont look right as the s2 bonnet hangs lower. S1 amd s2 headlights are different but i think its mostly along the top edge BUT they may be different on the side where it meets the grill. Youll need to find out if the gts is a s1 or s2

R200 Long Nose Into A 33 Gtst
BundyBear replied to BundyBear's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Mounts are fine. Diffs already in car -
Hey guys. Has anyone put an R200 long nose diff into an R33 gtst before. What drive shaft options do i have..got given one with a rebuilt lsd and id like to put it in my 33. Dont want to see swap centre's as ive been told its not a cheap job. Ive found whispers on the net that a NA 34 rear half may fit but im not sure on the strength of it (aiming for 350kw). Might have to get the stock one shortened if i cant find something stock from another kneesun Cheers
