  1. i'll be in Bondi perving!!! missing out on a xmas party organised by my friend with lots of tope st girls apparently (some here might know what i'm talking about)
  2. The fishing waters around the Kinglake/Kangaroo Grounds/Diamond creek area is much cleaner than say around Ringwood or other eastern suburbs like Kew. The catches in the bushes also tend to be fatter, bigger fish you'd have confidence in eating...relatively : P We were being stupid (and drunk) one night and threw a few lines into the yarra river along alexandra parade in the city. Surprisingly we still caught fish but one look and you'd tell they weren't edible... If anyone is interested in going to the rivers, drive along doncaster williamson road until you pass reynold's road. Keep going straight until you hit the plenty road roundabout. Do a u-turn on the roundabout and then immedately on your left about 200 metres up the hill you should see a small area for you to turn left. The nature track there will lead you to the river.
  3. I've been to Promax Auto next to Blackburn station and Alan or Max there decent guys for standard repairs, service or bolt on work. I can't really attest whether they are good for anything more as I havent tried - they could be tho its a big shop. They tend to do a lot of uni student/young cars, heaps of JDM sports cars there all the time. Pricing is reasonable too.
  4. Provided they're alive (obviously) - yes it does. Fish gills are filters, so give them clean water to swim in and eventually they'll spit out all the accumulated dirt. Haven't really found the need to do it for saltwater fish, but for freshwater/river fish I'd highly recommend it. Naturally caught murray cods and eels will brown your whole bathtub with dirt over night with all the stuff they spit out. It makes them cleaner (not sure about healthier) and the meat definitely tastes better as it reduces that "muddy' aftertaste. Just be careful with eels as they will jump out of the tub... best put a lid on whatever tub u using.
  5. hell yeah! I'm asian and I eat anything that swims, walks or crawls we usually put them in a bathtub or eski filled with water overnight (still alive) as this makes them regurgitate all the dirty yarra river water in their system. Should actually do this twice to make sure the fish is clean. Then steam with soy sauce, black bean and spring onions.
  6. hahahaha i so agree man. its much better by the bay or something where u have a big sky to light things up, but in the bushes those tree stumps look suspiciously humanoid. And then u start getting paranoid that every sound si somehow sinister... but still the eels bite friggin good in the yarra... its almost a guaranteed catch
  7. This sounds weird but in Docklands you can catch some pinkies and garfish with surprising consistency. Very weird considering its basically in the middle of the CBD but honestly have a go. Otherwise I found the nameless creeks and rivers in diamond creek/warrandyte area are very good for eel fishing in the middle of the night from 12 to 5am. Only problem is that you have to walk through some light bush to get to the river most of the time (no more than 100m off the "track") and at night it can get very Blair Witch project so I dont usually go unless i have a group of at least 5 hahahahaha bait for eels - go to safeway and buy the nastiest most revolting dog food (the ones in the freezer) you can find. The eels love it. Wear gloves.
  8. Alot of suburbs have "bad" spots, but some areas are more "dangerous" than others. As far as general crime goes I used to be in the legal industry and the really "bad" or "dangerous" in relation to violence and car theft were in rough ranking: 1. Melbourne CBD 1. City Inner - Abbotsford, Richmond, Collingwood, Port Melbourne 2. Springvale 2. Footscray 3. Deer Park 4. Noble Park 5. St Albans Box Hill used to be really bad as well, but about 3 years ago the police started a big job of cleaning out the "Asian Gangs" (I'm Asian as well so by all means I'm not being acist here) in that area with increased foot patrols.
  9. well i hope no one was hurt but seriousness aside does this remind anyone of the movie Speed? "Theres a Bomb on the Ford Explorer - if you slow down it will blow!!!"
  10. I go up Mt Dandenong through burwood highway, up sassasfras, turn into mountain highway and go back down to boronia about once a week. An alternative drive would be from warrandyte to kinglake, also a nice relaxing drive that takes around 1 hour or so. Thing about these roads is that you don't have to be breaking any laws or hooning to have a little fun. Keeping to the speed limits, you can have a nice drive that still lets you appreciate teh dynamics of your vehicle and be safe to all other drivers around you. I wouldn't mind a small cruise of around 5 cars of good sensible ppl, but large cruises i've been on in the past have inevitably ended in red and blue lights
  11. hahaha this just became my favorite car forum ever cos theres a moderator telling people to HTFU. Omfg I'm used to moderators telling people not to swear or give opinions, siding with traders instead of "norms", telling people to search and providing broken links or links to useless threads. But here on SAU VIC i get HTFU you little pansy fairy!! but back on topic - Tiger's wife is awesome but the fact remains you can get bored of it if its the only and one thing you do. And the others are half decent and probably dying to hold his 9 iron.
  12. lol apparently theres a picture of TIger holding his nine inch iron on the net... I averted my eyes but my gf was like WTF!!!! last nite when someone sent it to her. and no we arent talking about the golf club.
  13. hahahahahhaa true... but seriuosly would you really hit a woman? I can't even imagine it as corny as that sounds. But women hitting me? hell yeah thast happened a lot...
  14. I totally agree.... The "Wife is Better So I Won't Cheat" theory doesn't work. A car analogy. Lets say you drove a Ferrari / R35 GTR / NSX-R (yes VTEC yO! I can't get over Hondas shoot me ). She's beautiful, sexy, fast, intelligent, does everything you want her to. But you would still probably enjoy driving a WRX just for a day for something different, cheaper, easier to park, less to worry about at the parking lot. Might only be for a day, but it'll be a nice change of pace. A mate i knew got with a pretty average woman, who were shorter but somehow weighed 30% more than his gf. He epitomises this old joke: "What's similar between an electronic scooter and a fat chick?" - - - - - - "its all fun and games until your friends catches you riding one"
  15. I've had really good experiences with Jack from Real Tune in Clayton. Reasonable prices, honest guy and won't get you to replace something you don't need to replace. He'd actually take active steps to use your current parts rather than buy replacements to make his life easier. Call him on 0433180517. I guess you can tell him i sent you... I been taking my car there for years. Errr.... tell him Gary who used to drive a silver EK4 and now a Black DC5.
