  3. i had my r33 gtst tuned at Unigroup engineering sydney and made 254kw atw with GCG high flow. When the car was getting tuned it developed a miss at 240kw mark. The boys gapped my plugs down to .65 to resolve the issue and then pumped out 254kw. My stock coils are very old and have been siliconed by some one at some stage. Sourced some used splitfires from the SAU forums and then regapped my plugs to .95. Installed everthing and then went for a drive. What a difference....... more response, crisp acceleration, pulls harder in the high rpm mark, definately gained a measurable differnce without a single miss in the rev range. Car breaks traction easier. I recommend splitfires to anyone who has old coils, you can run a bigger gap with plugs and you will feel the difference Worth ever cent
  4. We had a run the m4 motor way at about 1pm in the morning, no cars on the road except us so the risk was calculated, wouldnt have done it if other people where on the road at the time. Any way if you can honestly say that you have not exceded the speed limit or had a street run in your life then you can cast the first stone and i will gladly accept your criticism. keep your "world class tool' comments to your self, we are not in pre school c..k s..ckr.

R33 gtst has edge over 2007 wrx sti I had a recent street run with a 2.5l 2007 Wrx sti and hit speeds in excess of 200klms hour.( not safe but couldnt back down) I cannot confirm what mods the sti had apart from exhaust and front mount but i can confirm that my gtst r33 has 254kw atw with gcg high flow turbo. The run was from 70lkms to about 200klms/h and i can confirm that i had the sti by a car length. It wasnt a proper run from the lights but we still gave it a good go and he couldnt pass me. There are guys on this forum who have run 12.3s down quarter on semi slicks with 255kw atw on r33 gtst. So with full slicks this will drop into 11s easy. I prefer my skyline over a wrx anyday of the week. In my opinion a true performance race car is rear wheel drive ( formula 1, nascar, v8 supercar, indy car) and nothing beats sitting the skyline on the spot and smoking the rears, and there is no better feeling than getting the bitch side ways. Rev dump your rexxy and you can pull over and pick up your gearbox. Rexys belong off road in rally and even then i prefer an evo. On the road and in drag racing enviroment, skyline is my only choice.   9. Check the GCG turbo thread for my dyno graph. When i got car tuned unigroup told me that the intake pipe was closing on the dyno. When engine gets hot, the rubber goes very soft and then the problem begins. On the road , you get 5mins of driving before it starts running like poo because of intake. We also took the car for a road diagnostic and unigroup picked up the problem with his lap top plugged into my PFC. Solicon pipe has fixed all my problems, car runs, idles and performs perfect. Unigroup all the way.

  11. Problem Fixed, No more vacumme problem Went to Just Jap racing and spoke to the boys. They assured me that the silicone aftermarket intake pipe product they sell will handle 250kw and beyond without vacumming shut. Inspected the product and it looks well made, has metal spring support in the centre and also rubber reinforcement around the two ports for blow off valve assembly. They guarantee that it wont shut under heavy boost or your money back. Installation: Spent a few hours installing the intake into car with my standard air box. With a little trimming required of the twin rubber port and also some trimming required from the air flow meter end, the intake goes in perfectly and looks totaly factory. initially its a tight squeeze but fits well and looks very standard with stock air box. Result: Car revs hard and holds boost all the way to redline, no boost drop, hesitation, just pure driving bliss. All problems fixed, highly recommend this modification, dont waste your time modifying your stock intake pipe as it will poo itself with strong boost levels and decent turbo. its to old and rubber gets to soft when hot. JJR pipe looks like this one but its black inside and out. They charged me $170 for it, i think you can get cheaper else where but i didnt have time to shop around.
  12. Thanks for your advice Stao, I would like to keep the car looking as original as possible, want to keep standard air box. I might get a custom pipe made up and use rubber hose to join to existing breather and blow off valve pipe. I will also paint the alloy custom pipe black. Im trying hard to keep the car looking stock and unmolested to avoid defects and to keep with the originality of the car. This shitty rubber stock intake pipe is letting me down.

  14. My dilema Have my car tuned to 254.7kw atw with standard air box and panel filter On high boost 18psi, the intake pipe is closing and choking the turbo. At 10psi all is fine. The symptoms of this is strong power up to 5800rpm and then boost drops from 18psi to 7psi at7000rpm. Took the car to Yavuz at unigroup and he plug the lap top in before taking car for road tune. At 5800rpm power drops of dramatically and car cannot hold boost. Yavuz has informed me that the intake pipe is getting hot and as a result the rubber pipe is vacumming shut. I have modified the pipe with a 3inch steel pipe on the inside as per the tech thread on SAU. This modification is not working for me so i need other recommendations to stop small bit of rubber in front of turbo vacumming shut. One option i thought of was installing a metal wire spring for extra support but i dont know where to source it. Any help or ideas welcome.
  15. I have rectified the intake pipe problem with the 3inch pipe painted black modification. Looks stock and very tidy, seems to work fine. I have recently noticed a problem with the car and i need to take it back to get sorted out. On occassions i get the engine light appear as a flash on the dash. This happens at 6000rpm in second and third gear. Only happens sometimes. Second problem is that car revs out fine when not under full load. When i put the boot into it in second gear i get a slight hesitation or pause at 6000rpm and then the car continues to rev out to 7000rpm. Funny thing is that it happens when the car is warm and running for a while. It feels like it runs out of power and then it kicks in again. i will be taking car back to be road tested when the sydney weather clears up. Any of you boys have ideas or suggestions.

  17. I havnt heard many positive reports on the yellow jackets and JJR ones sorry. I would prefer the japanese splitfires. Good jap quality parts that last, even if its manufactured in china, still has jap seal of approval and quality control.

  24. $750 standard unigroup price These guys go the extra mile before they tune your car. They bench flow injectors to determine flow rates and spray patterns. They smoke test your motor to determine whether there are leaks in the piping system yavuz has a degree in mechanical engineering and he has specialised his work to car tuning which makes him a pro at what he does. Over 15years experience in car tunning, he started on carbies. He is a power fc freak as well. good service and very informative, worth paying the extra to know he has put the time into refining your machine. remember , tunning brings the whole package together, can make or break your motor. When he tells you he has tuned your car to be driven hard, you know it will last the distance. Good luck
