  1. does anyone know if r33 gtst rear callipers will fit on a s2 rs4 with out any mods
  2. i suggest using pipsters coke bottle trick and getting the motor to operating temp and holding the rev's at about 1500 rpm to help the coolent circulate then let it cool down you may have to do it a few times it always has worked for me maybe also pull a heater hose just off to se if you have coolent in the heater core
  3. the only thing i have ever see go wrong with a harmonic balancer is the rubber bonding seperating or the key way flogging out sounds a bit suss if you ask me and there is no bearing on a balancer they must be talking about the idler for the timing belt which should always be replaced with the belt
  4. good call on the plugs they are the hards working part on any car
  5. i dont need a death trap on the road for my kids to drive in i will definatley be retapping the holes got all the taps at work
  6. Just brought a set of r33 gtst calipers and are wondering if stock s2 rs4 discs are going to fit or do i need r33 gtst discs
  7. i have done lots of heads and the best way is to leave all the manifolds on untill you get it on to the bench dont forget to put the motor to top dead center before you start taking the timing belt off should only take about three hours with basic hand tools to remove the head you should find out if the head bolts are touque to yield if so you will need new bolts

  10. In my time as a mechanic i have see to many vehicles do the head gaskets after about a year or two must have something to do with the extra heat in the combustion chamber i think

  12. I do know that time on the rollers are need for a top tune but what i would like to know is can you just solder the new board in and drive off to wait for a tune later when the handbrake lets me spend some of my hard earned funds on some good mods
  13. Got my car from fab car and the only silvia that they had were s15's have a look in the autotrader its always a good bet

  16. changed my o2 sensor on the weekend to an el 6cyl bosch unit cut wire and soldered old plug on had a reistance of 2 to 3 ohms old one had 5 to 6 ohms took it for a drive did get a bit better economy but not really not noticeable good to here other poeple are only getting out 450 km to a tank i thought something might have be wrong with my car

Your best bet is to take the car to a engine reconditioner and just say that you dont want it back till it runs sounds like bent valves hope they havent made there way in to the pistons good lesson for everyone to learn to bad it had to be you to show everyone somethings should be left to the professionals
  18. sounds good but i live 1500km away and will only been in perth from the 20th of september so i will be up for a cruise anytime after that

  21. forgot to mention that i can only buy 95 octane fuel where i live
  22. just got back from a trip to karratha 200km one way use about half a tank to get there On the way back only used about 1/3 of a tank sat on 130 kph all the way very odd i think talking about autos what does everyones rpm read at 110kph and 130kph mine read 3000rpm at 130kph

You bought the wrong car for saving fuel and the planet * Ahem .. load of crap * LPG kit if your keeping the car for a while. sausage fuel is only meant for your bbq mate and its a 2000 neo rs4 stagea not un happy with it love the car but if anyone know what mods may make a differance in fuel usage i would love to hear about it
  25. Need to know how does everyone else go for fuel economy? I went for a drive on the weekend it was a 400km round trip from pannawonica to onslow I was traving at 130kph all the way not over taking much traffice and used a full tank of fuel it worked at about 16L per 100km I just fitted new yellow jacket coil packs and irdium tip plugs set to 1.1mm gap I have owned the car for about 6 months and its never had good mileage
