  1. Hi, Our12. There is no requirement to have the roll bar bolted in the car for the VASS certificate, or engineering if required. I had taken it out as I prefer the look, however, subsequent to selling it, I have bolted it back in. The soft-top works by small pieces of tube called hood-bows. These attach and swing up to make a tent-like frame. The roof then buttons on to the body work and voilà... Weather protection! There are some photos below that show the car with the roll bar in place (sans windscreen), with both the roll bar and the hood bows in, and with the half-tonneau on. The car did spend time in Japan. It was first manufactured in the UK at the Caterham factory, and was then shipped to Japan and bought by a Gentleman in Hamamatsu who used it for Club runs. I bought the car in Japan some years ago from his wife, after he passed away and drove it for a while. I brought the vehicle into Australia in 2007. Appreciate your interest shown.
  2. Thanks, GTR Fan. The car is a 1984 model, and is a genuine Caterham supplied from the UK factory - not a backyard special. I am also the second owner. I have added the only pic of the engine bay I have on the computer - this was taken when I was rebuilding the fuel delivery system one afternoon back in '06, and sorting out the rear seat back. I don't have photos of the interior, but will grab some and post accordingly. Also happy to add more of whatever other photos people need. You will note the car has 40mm dual throat Webbers and a nice set of 4-into-2 extractors leading into the side pipe. The motor is stock Caterham and puts out just over 140hp. This makes the car quite lively as it only weighs a mere 600kg wringing wet. I'm quite negotiable on price as I have another Clubman to drive. My issue is I also need a proper car with a genuine roof for day-to-day stuff! The car is in Geelong, but I can happily drive it into the city for interested parties to view. Thanks for looking.
  3. 2-owner car. Features new fuel tank and lines, and semi-sealed beam headlights with quartz halogen centres. Series 3 Spec. 1,600 X-Flow Ford Kent motor with the A2 camshaft and live axle rear end. Spare wheel and weather gear included. Asking 32k ono - will consider trade for a '93 / '94 R32 GTR. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Car is located in Geelong area. Jeremy Clarkson: "If you boiled a sports car down to its base elements, this is what would be left. Spine-shattering, deafening, idiotic brilliance..."
