  1. Got any pics of the Head Unit ??? And how old is it ?
  2. Go the 32   Gotta love 131kb/sec transfer rates
  3. Well it's good to hear, i'm still trying to get used to driving my car. But I will look about slowly upgrading it. I really think 200rwkw would be heaps, but I wanna get used to the car a bit more. I've got a cat back 3inch (I think, might be 3.5, havn't really checked) and am thinking about getting a 3.5 inch dump and front pipe in the next few months. Then eventually upgrading the rest (although i love the throaty sound of the one on there). Or would it be better getting a Front Mount First ? And have you see any good cuts on the m spec bar ? As I'm not too keen on buying another bar mainly for the risk of going to low and being a prick to get around in. Plus if I get a new bar, I wanna get new wheels and springs and do the whole lot at once.
  4. I worked in a panel shop for about for like 2 months up here, pretty big place, it was pretty good cause I got to drive heaps of nice cars, from a lambo urraco to EL GT. But we had this 8 Series BMW in there, they were waiting for this stuff inside the front bumper, some special honey comb like shit. Well they were waiting 8 weeks before I got there, and it was still sitting waiting when I left. They were a pretty big shop, but the owner was an absolute f**k wit who screwed me around with my pay and that's why I left. So I won't ever go near the joint.
  5. That 32 is on it's last legs, but damn, hell nice looking car (fix the wheels and panels up that is). And well, I mean, what.....you bought a rex. What can I say You'll never get away from the image no matter how fast it is. Shoulda bought a B4 or something.
  6. Well I'd offer my place, but I don't know what my olds would say. I can't complain, I get a good deal here. But I think we should all hit the town for a cruise then a piss up or something. Speak some shit for a while and then settle down for a nice night off pass the URMINE around
  7. How much difference is there between 2nd and 4th ? I'm guessing this is just the peak power output ? Cause I definately find in my car that it pulls hardest in 2nd also. I havn't put it on a dyno yet but it's just my observations from driving. It's only got a 3 inch cat back.
  8. Now just keep in mine, this is a Sony man talking, so don't listen or believe it too much. He's only trying to beef up the console. [b:feb0314966]Sony opts out of console price war [/b:feb0314966] By Ed Dawson, GameSpot AU April 24th, 2002 GameSpot Australia: Mr Ephraim, thanks for joining us. On the subject of console price cuts, obviously Microsoft have savagely reduced their price, followed by a moderate response from Nintendo. What is Sony's position on this emerging price war? Michael Ephraim: We are not moving from our suggested retail price of $499 at this time. I would like to clarify that our system is the only system that runs DVD movies off the shelf. The Xbox requires a DVD remote control at $49.95. Other competitors do not even provide this functionality. Also, we are definitely on track with our business plans for the year. Price of the console is a minor point, because content is the main issue. On the content issue we have currently around 260 games available for PlayStation 2. And we'll have close to 400 games by the end of this year. Secondly on the games, we have a large suite of exclusive titles. For instance, Tomb Raider will be exclusive on PlayStation 2. Gran Turismo 3, one of the largest, if not the largest selling console titles is exclusive to PlayStation 2. Final Fantasy 10, Virtua Fighter 4 and many other games are exclusive to PlayStation 2. According to Inform, during the week of the 15th of April, if you look at the sell-through of games on all formats, four out of the top five are exclusive PlayStation 2 games. We now have the PlayStation 2 Platinum range available to consumers, Which is the re-release of the best- selling games on PlayStation 2 for $49.95. This is including Gran Turismo 3, Formula One, Crazy Taxi, and approximately ten other games. That list will grow to approximately 40 titles by the end of the year. The PlayStation 2 is the first and only gaming system that is backwards-compatible. This means that the approximately 1500 games available for PlayStation can be played on PlayStation 2. And just for the record, we have sold 2.4 million PlayStation 1 units in Australia. We have sold 330,000 PlayStation 2 units in Australia since launch. Those are all the reasons, that at this point in time, we will not be moving on price. GS: How low can a console vendor go in reducing it's prices? ME: I can't really comment on our competitors. I can only say that in Japan, sales in the week of April 8th to the week of April 14th, PlayStation 2 sold 55,000 units. Our competitor who has just reduced their price sold only 1,800 units. As reported by IGNCube and Dengki. And as reported by Inform in Australia, in Australia we are out-selling our competitors by three, or four to one. GS: Why is there such fierce determination to become the market leader? ME: At the end of the day, you have to sell the hardware to sell the software. With PlayStation 2, the long term plan is to unveil additional functionality into the home. GS: Who loses money when these cuts are made? Do the losses affect the distribution or retail chains? ME: No. Generally the manufacturer takes the losses on the cuts. If you look at a lot of reports, manufacturers of console games machines lose money. It's the razors and blades game. If a person buys the razors, they keep buying the blades. The company that owns the format is the one that has to ensure that it's a viable business model long term, when you consider the sales of software. Merrill Lynch has reported that our competitor was losing $100 per machine prior to their price cut, about the same as we were losing per machine when we launched PlayStation 2. GS: What is the lifespan of a console machine these days? ME: Well, it's hard to say. We launched PlayStation in November 1995. This year we plan to sell another 200,000 units. PlayStation (1) has had the longest lifespan so far. Our target is to have a total installed base of 600,000 PlayStation 2 units by the end of this year. GS: How do you perceive the games console market of today? Would you say there are significant differences from the days of the PlayStation One? ME: I think you need to draw the line pre-PlayStation. The significant difference was demographics. At that time the market was pre-teen. Right now about 55% of our consumers are aged between 18-39, while 20% are above 39. The major difference since when PlayStation was launched, and now PlayStation, 2, is it has become a significantly larger audience, the biggest change is the demographics. As we say, it's for people aged 8 - 88. For the last financial year, ending June 30th 2001, the industry value at retail was worth $530 million. That would put it close to the leading entertainment category, close to music and movies. It has become a very large category. Analysts say it is worth 20-25 billion dollars worldwide. And everybody's forecasting massive growth in the next few years. GS: Do you see console gaming reaching more of an older, more adult focused market share in future? ME: Well as we discovered, it appeals to the older demographic initially, but as price falls, the younger demographic becomes interested. When we launched PlayStation 1, the demographic we had was quite similar to what we had at the PlayStation 2's launch. And you find as the price drops, the under 14 yr old demographic started contributing 20-25% of the customer base. It really appeals to just about anybody who likes different genres of games. But generally speaking as the price comes down, the younger audience comes into play.
  9. Could very well be.
  10. I take her for a ride home from the coast yesterday, damn that hicas takes a bit of getting used to. Changes lanes so quickly. I was all up for coming but slept in. We went cruising last night.
  11. I got a PS2, and only reason I ain't buy an X Box is cause i'm getting my car. I've played the box quite a bit, Halo is simply one of the best games ever, and there's a number of other quality titles. And compare this with the PS2's first few months and I know which I'd prefer to of gotten off the bat. Give the Box a few months, it'll only get better. And add in the fact that to save on PS2 you need any $70 mem card, or wait and pay a small fortune for a Hard Drive. Then $50 for superior DVD playback (as opposed to the PS2's) isn't so bad. Considering you don't need a Mem Card, the price is still only $388 and you get a Hard Drive, Broad Band Modem and still has a good selection of games. Value for money the Box wins out. And Sony have said they aren't dropping the price from $499. I'll post the article later if anyone wants to read it.
  12. I wish I knew someone up here like that. Ask him if he knows any one in Bris Vegas.
  13. Ofcourse, she'll be pretty much as is for a little while (new nismo knob and horn button) but it's all good. Might just get the wheels polished and a set of lower springs.
  14. 1992 GTS-t M Spec, Full Elecs, Sunroof and Spoiler. Gun Metal Grey. Got some exhaust on it, havn't looked at it too closely, but it's at least 3" from the cat back. Sounds hella good, not too loud but just a nice burble. Far as I can tell it's pretty stock, but it's got GAB shocks on as well so it handles pretty well. I was too busy wanting to take it for a run then look to close at it. I'll check it out a bit better tomorrow.
  15. But...But....I'm sorry, I find nothing wrong with your arguement, I conceed whole heartedly
  16. Well I mean don't be too harsh on him, he was only thinking of himself. I mean, where would he be without Attessa ?
  17. Yes, thank jebus for Rear Wheel Drive...Praise the son of rajab 8)
  18. Well, I got the word, the Compliance plates for my car have come through. So the Gods willing, tomorrow I pick up the (as in MY) Skyline  I'm so damn happy, and it's only gunna get better
  19. Hey thanks for that link, definately want to look into doing an advance driving course. We did a basic course in school but they were just in the cars there. Getting to know your own car is totally different. This is the sort of thing that we could/should/hopefull will be able to offer club members in the future. Oh and Megs, that first drift video is insane, i'd be working overtime to keep myself on the lines and track let alone out of the other guys side door
  20. The Sileighty for sure.
  21. Could be worse dude, good idea on the escort though, maybe a cortina with a 5L XFlow in it. There's more then way to get your fix
  22. The best thing about Rex's though has to be the aftermarket, every man and his dog sells some sort of kits for those damn things. Unfortunately, every man and his dog owns one too
  23. Well as far as I can gather, the plates are still somewhere between Melbourne and The Gold Coast. The car was signed off by the engineer Tuesday or Wednesday two week ago, then the report/papers were sent to canberra to be approved before being sent on to the compliers in Melbourne. Then from there sent back to canberra to be reapproved by the stupid ****in government bastards. So all in all they're just screwing me around. I'm gunna make some more phone calls on Friday to find out exactly what's going on.
  24. Well in a way I agree with Slip, but can't we still be casual whilst still making it official and actually working towards something (sponsors, discount parts and services). I agree that in the long term this is the way to go. I havn't been involved in this whole situation for that long, but I would and am very willing to get involved in anyway I can. But I think in the long term, everyone will benifet from making this official. As long as we learn from the mistakes of others and keep the good of the club in mind.
  25. Well I would love to help up here, but i've usually got shit all time to do anything. (Through the week anyway). But Definately up for the Mad Mountain Run, but i'm still waiting for the compliance plates for my car (32 GTS-t) I've been pretty patient but it's really starting to get my fired up.
