  1. Thanks for the suggestions guys. It looks like i'll be going with some DBA 4601's for the rotors at around $300 each... compared the the Brembo ones at $1200 each. Still not 100% sure one what I will be getting for the brake pads... suffice to say, not the Nissan ones for $800
  2. They are magical disks and rotors sprinkled with pixie dust based on that price.
  3. I posted this on the 350z-tech.com forums as well. I thought i'd ask around on these forums as you guys are local and know the good places to get work done.
  4. Somehow I don't think they could give a shit wether I like paying the $5800 or not, to them they would just consider it standard consumables. They have my 75k, that's all they seem to care about. I will talk to Nissan Australia rather than the local dealership but I don't like my chances.
  5. um... an R34GTR with an aftermarket front spoiler?
  6. Hiya, been a while. I have just been really busy with work and haven't had much spare time on my hands. That and I usually play indoor cricket or go out Friday nights so I don't get a chance to head out to the museum usually. What time do you guys usually hang out there till on Friday nights?
  7. Thanks for the advice. The rotors weren't cracked or warped they were apparently just worn down so far they can't be machined... this is what I find hard to believe. Oh well, i'll look into it. Another thing I need to keep in mind is the new car warranty it still has 38 months of it left. What are Nissan going to say if I go putting non standard parts in? You can bet if there is ever a problem with the calipers/brake lines etc they will just blame the after market pads and rotors...
  8. As I already stated, I nearly bought one. I know what an R34 GTR looks like... also the GTR badges were a dead giveaway. If I was looking to buy one for 6 months I think i'd recognise one. It was not a GT-T. I just looked through google and have yet to see an R34 GTR with the same front grill. I saw stock, vspec and vspecII.
  9. That's the stock v-spec front... Yes, I know what an R34GTR looks like. I was going to buy one a couple of years back but couldn't find a decent one for sale.
  10. Oh yeah and what pads/rotors do you guys use/recommend?
  11. I just put my track spec Z in for it's 40,000 major service (39,600) and told the guys at the Nissan Dealership In Woden to look at the brake pads as they would probably need replacing given the kilometers on the car. I got a call a couple of hours after I dropped the car in and the guy told me I needed new front and read brake pads and also front and rear rotors at a total cost of $5,800. Several things: - Have any of you guys ever gone through a set of rotors (front and rear) in 39,000km's without ever machining them? - If that's what the genuine Brembo options costs from the dealership I think I will give it a miss. Where do you guys go in Canberra to get this kind of work done? Do they order the parts in or will I have to buy them and then take them in? P.S christ... $5,800 on what is a fairly new car. I wonder what it would be worth to replace the whole lot, calipers and lines etc?
  12. Does Theo have a v-spec with a (sorry to say it mate) horrible looking front spoiler?
  13. Spotted yesterday afternoon, Blue R34GTR. Stopped at the car lovers in Weston and had a chat while we washed out little datto's Don't suppose it was anyone in here?
  14. It will be, admit it
  15. Oh yeah and how many of you guys work out at Brindabella park? I swear there are like 5 skylines out there on a daily basis. The place is a hole and it's barely in canberra, but you gotta love the cars in the carpark: a couple of 350Z's a couple of S2000's, WRX's, Skylines, a B4 etc. Almost makes the long drive out there worth it every afternoon... almost
  16. I'll sell it you when the new GTR comes out
  17. Where is the jerrabomerra pub?
  18. Heh.. yeah the Z doesn't exactly blend in to traffic, neither do 'lines for that matter You scared the crap out of me going around that round-about in the inside lane, when I first saw you out of the corner of my eye. I am not used to other cars going through round-abouts anywhere near as fast as I usually do. If you were driving a comondore you would have flown off the road at that speed. P.S are you guys still having regular get-togethers?
  19. Saw a wine red R33 in traffic next to me coming into Woden, briefly pulled next to me, exchanged waves then we disappeared in traffic
  20. Spotted, silver R34 gt-t? going down... Athlon I think the road is called, this afternoon. Gave wave, got one in return. Sweet looking ride
  21. P.S sorry for jumping off topic. Just didn't think it was worth starting a whole new thread for one quick question. P.P.S buy the R34
  22. Just out of curiosity... what's an R34GTR worth these days? It's a long time till mid 2007
  23. Driving offthe parkway I drove behind a couple of R34 gtst's. One with a wing one without. About 30 minutes ago. Anyone here?
  24. Welcome. You'll like it here, sau Canberra branch are a top group of people. ...P.S don't worry, I don't have a skyline yet either
