  1. So ive finished the install. First test.. all well. Very quiet turbo.. can hear it spin very freely and smooth! Feels a bit less powerful than the gcg hiflow that i took off . Boost control so far seems ok but i still have to tune my greddy profect ebc. 12mm spacer brought it out enough to clear the exhaust manifold.
  2. So.. ive got the turbo.. looks good. He also sent me a different spring to adjust actuator pressure. He didn't say a thing as to why he put the price up.. even when i questioned it.. wouldn't reply. Any way.. ive gone and test fitted it and even though he told me its a direct bolt on and works fine with standrd manifold.. the outlet on the front aluminum compressor housing hits the exhaust manifold. So im going to put new studs and a 12mm spacer on the manifold flange. If thats no good and causes me issues, ill have to get a aftermarket exhaust manifold.
  3. Yes dori34.its in the r33.. i received the turbo yesterday... after chating the guy on facebook and telling him ill buy it, he put the price up the mongrel! Ive got him to send me a 7 psi spring as well to run before i get my tune done..
  4. Hi there. Ive just bought on of these mamba turbos.. planing in low mounting it.. using internal wastegate Will be running std computer untill stronger clutch install. Then power fc , z32 afm ,injectors and tune.. will also keep you posted on results.
  5. yer, would be nice to get it looking original. ive used satin. Ill probly trt and vinyl wrap it soon, in something similar to original. the orginal paint is crap as, just rubs off ay?
  6. Hi all. I loved this idea soo much, I decided to copy it. heres a few picss of my version, its a little different. I used pvc fittings for the gauge holders, and the all angled towards the driver, but all in a line ..... if ya know what I mean. I used expander foam and body filler, just the same as you did, worked great. if the bog is to thin though, the foam makes it a little soft underneath, so id say, use the foam only to hold things in place, then mostly bog for the shaping. any way, have a look Thanks heaps for the idea!
  7. ive used a Datsun wheel nut on a homemade de-cat once! wrked great!
  8. hypergear sent me a message 2 weeks ago, said they will build and send me a hi flowed turbo for r33 for $1000 all up. sounded good! I ended up getting a near new gcg hi flow.
  9. yer, I have solved a number of issues, just from blocking that hole. fixed slow to boost issue, surge and creep issue, (which I thought it was a waste gate issue) flat spot after 4800 and before 6000 issue. low idle issue. sooo many thing were happening just because of that stupid hole. I fixed it (temporarily) with elect tape! I will get a gtr one I think. or a compact. thanks heaps for all the info!
  10. Okay cool ! Thanks. I'll see if I can find one. Any other suggestions?
  11. good for 20 psi? ive herd they leak at 14 psi? and would a std one flow as much as goo a after market one?
  12. Hi all. Im not after a swoosh or a fluter, I just want a good performer. My std one has a hole in the bottom of it (its supposed to be there) but it leaks like a sieve for some reason. any one used an after marker one that has been good with no leaks? Needs to be good for upto 20 psi.
  13. thanks for the reply yep, has a hi flowed and enlarged wastegate flap. so is 15mm ok amount of travel for the actuator?
  14. hi all. just installed a gcg hi flow turbo. I noticed on my std turbo I would get boost creep to 12 psi. (after usual mods done) now, with the standard actuator connected straight to the boost pipe (no boost cntrl) im getting boost spikes way above 13 (I back off straight away) Ive notice the std actuator only travels 15mm or so. witch means the waste gate doesn't open very much at all! how far is it supposed to travel? and any one know if I can get a long distance one? im sure it would help, and stop over boosting. Also have a 14psi actuator, that only moves 15mm as well. if im barking up the wrong tree, let me know!
