  1. Thanks guys.. Yep I had a good night and a killer headache all day yesterday.
  2. Yeah that's the next plan Ferni as you know. Because lets face it i've done everything else. Shut up bris. At least i've gone to edge and found the limit, rather than just going out and buying a full package because I might be running out of brakes soon. And now I can share that information with other track users. "GTR brembo's = good for under 300kw car." You know I like to see what the limit of things are just like you. I believe we also found the limit of the stock turbo's around Sandown and Winton... Next we can see how far brakes will last with a spacer and a bigger disc.
  3. Mav - Let us know when you figure out how to use it! I got two free tickets too!
  4. I'm pretty sure I can lock the standard brakes on mine at high speed if I want to with brand new 245/40/18" RE55's with the following setup: Cusco master cylinder stopper Braided lines Motul 5.1 fluid - I bleed one bottle through before every track day DBA 5000 slotted fronts (Standard 324mm) Ferodo DS3000's V-spec rubber brake ducts Removed backing plates Even on a good surface. But I do need to jump on them very hard. Which is exactly what I do at Sandown. I'd also like to say that it's my experience that the GTR standard brembo's are great until you reach 300+kw and then they don't seem to be able to cope with the higher speeds i'm approaching braking points at. I could do laps of Sandown/Winton all day with 260kw and never have a brake fade and still get 21's and 35's respectivly. I'm only now feel I have reached the limits of the standard caliper and disk size.
  5. My car is now on display @ Sexpo. Dropped it off this morning.
  6. Yep - Support the sponsors... Tell the organisers the only reason you came is because they sponsored me @ Dutton.
  7. Let the Ash Photochop's begin i say.
  8. Hehe - got you talking now. Come to the club meeting and I will reveal the footage. When I went back to cabin to capture the footage on my laptop, I was amazed at how bad a lap that actually was. But I think if you drive eratically and past the point of smooth grip at wakkie it is actually quicker. I think a 1.05 will be relativly easy on new rubber. You have to remember it was also slightly damp too.
  9. Now that's just boring Bris... Nice essay. It's pretty hard to estimate distance, but the kind of brake fade I was getting was causing me to brake about 10m earlier than I would have liked on turn 8, 20m earlier on 10 and 30m earlier on turn 1. =60m. So what does that equal in time lost over deacceleration + plus lost acceleration?
  10. This outing may require some River Dance magic.
  11. LOL - Lets do that next year. I'd pay good money to see that.
  12. How many 4 doors will actually attend? We probably need 8-10 to seriously consider another category. It'll be just like a few years back when we ordered a 'Best R31' trophie. Took us months to palm that little sucker off. That's right Ash no one likes you
  13. I'll try to put together some footage from the NSW trip. Just a couple of in car laps. I might also have some in car footage from Sandown @ Dutton VIC. See what happens..
  14. Yeah that's on old rubber too - Same fronts tyres as PI, but I put some others with 40% left tread on the rear. I stand by one second in brakes. Ask Ant - he was in the passenger seat. Three corners where I have to get off the gas very early and apply brakes for much longer than I would like too. 3x 0.25 = 0.75 of a sec = 1.05's easy.
  15. 1.06.7 at Wakefield on a drying track. Car feels good now. Back to a nice level handling and power wise. Brakes let me down thou again. Probably a whole second in there with better brakes Think i'm going to have to bite the bullet soon as the stock Brembo's just aren't keeping up with the rest of the car.
  16. I knew this was on and I was going to bring the supergem along, but just realised I have a christening on. Have fun Age..
  17. No probs West.
  18. Oh - so all of a sudden you two can afford track days.
  19. I'm going to be trying mine at Wakkie on Thursday 8/11/07. But i'd Sandown will be the real test, as that's the only place i'm currently running out of breaks. Will let you know what I think thou. Problem is i'm going to be using new rear rotors too, so changing 2 things isn't good for feedback.
  20. Group 2 will definatly be going the Hume as apposed to Yarra Glen, as I have discovered there will be plenty of booze buses and TOG cars in and arround Yarra Glen, as they have a meet at the local horse track and apparently it can get rowdy out there. So best to avoid that.
  21. Please post your intentions for this trip here. Thanks..
  22. Soft.... Please post in this thread what your intentions are for this trip, so we know who will be where, and when ect and will make organisation much easier. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t191670.html
  23. This thread is an attempt to organise who's doing what in reagrds to this NSW trip as many peoples plans have changed. Original topic thread is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t176741.html As far as i'm aware there are three schools of thought on cruising up to NSW. Group 1 - Those who are doing the Track Day at Winton on Cup Day 6/11/07 Meet Time: Depart 6:30am - 6/11 Meet Place: Donnybrook Shell on the Hume Hwy 1. Snowy 2. Aaron 3. Ant 4. Tony 5. Espo 6. West Group 2 - Cruise up to Winton on 6/11/07 at a reasonable time to watch the later half of the Winton day and Stay in Wangeratta for the night, before heading to Goulburne on Wed 7/11 about 9:30am (Once Group 3 Arrives) Meet Time: Approx 12pm on 6/11 Meet Place: Donnybrook Shell on the Hume Hwy 1. Chirs + Bec 2. Saff 3. Mav 4. Gadg 5. Group 3 - Leave Melbourne early on Wed 7/11 to meet up with the Group 1+2 in Wangeratta before continuing onto Goulburn. Meet Time: 6:00am Meet Place: Donnybrook Shell on the Hume Hwy 1. rexdan 2. Tom Group 4 - The outcasts who need a can of Ash's HTFU and have pulled out because they are soft. 1. Jack 2. Roy 3. Matt 4. Ferni - you suck Group 4.5 - If I can get my sh1t sorted i'll come up Wed night. 1. Roy 2. mooabque
  24. Yeah this would probably be a good idea, as Jack isn't coming now, we may need some storage. I will have four track tyres in the back seat, but I would like to bring a spare RE'55 tyre just in case. I know a few others would be keen on this. So i'd happily throw some dollars towards this. I'll try to post up tonight a list of who is coming and where we will be leaving from etc tonight. As different people will be leaving at different times.
  25. Aaaargghahahaha! That's Gold.
