  1. Good luck boys. I'm sure you'll stick it to them.
  2. Hmm - I was looking at Stagea's on the weekend as a possible good comfortable daily with the intention of towing the GTR from time to time. Anyone have any idea what the cost of a tow pack is and the tow rating on said item? Also anyone done much towing with GT forester's? They have $1300kg with 75kg downforce. The 2.5lt XT has $1400kg.
  3. Dutton - I hate it, and I love it. Not sure what I will do in 2008.
  4. Can you send me a PM too.. Might come if bored.
  5. Hehehe. Jack =
  6. Pfftt. Thats weak sauce jack. Just come to Wakkie then.
  7. I'm there no matter what. Buck 'O Chips on stand-by!
  8. If you did this day would we stay in Wanggeratta or Wadonga or something then head north on Wed Morning? Perhaps? No point heading home.
  9. I've got a basketball semi final, so I probably wont be able to make it. Pity - I was looking forward to some pics or vids from Morewell.
  10. Good thread guys - great info. I busted my front spider gears at the recent Dutton VIC on a launch and turn incident on the long wang @ DECA, so i've got a Nismo 1.5 way front LSD going in this week. The Nismo was slightly better priced than the others and came with gaskets / bearings too where the others didn't seem to. The Z-tune has the 1.5 way, so I thought it would be ok. I guess i'll be able to give a progress report soon, but..... I'm told that the ATS 1.5 way front diff was apparently a case of rip the steering wheel from your hand when mounting ripple strips etc, so what we actually intend to do is soften off the 1.5 way Nismo, so that it reacts more like a 1 way. Anyway my thinking was more aimed at replacing the sucker as to increase the strenght over a stock unit, because missing out on 9 events while driving back to melbourne and back again wasn't all that fun. I'll report back what I think of it on the track when the car comes back.
  11. Nah Ant - You did well dude. Keeping the GTR on the straight and narrow was more than I could achiveve!! Forget about these Panozza comments. Only GTR out there keeping it real = You win!
  12. It's always been everyone in VIC vs. Roy - He likes to talk it up too much.. More bet's need to be placed people. Who's running some ods here on Brisby getting these times? If you want to do a passenger lap, make sure you come to the track early, because it's usually the first session of the day at about 9-9:30. But yeah I think we've put him on the rigth track now (no pun intended)
  13. Yep - I can eat...
  14. Do it man.... Don't listen to the non believers. Then tell me what's involved so I can copy. I've always been keen to do the 13B conversion into my gem.
  15. Make sure you do... Come down early. Introduce yourself to the guys around and have a chat, watch how it all works. Also none of us are skilled drivers - we are all hacks. Especially Roy.
  16. Yeah I was never happy with my Phillip Island times. I could never fully trust the rear suspension setup into turn one at high speed, it was what always stopped me getting into the 1:49 that snowy got in his GTR when stock. So I think it's the most achievable. I would have liked another PI day with the previous setup. I wasn't going to change it until I did a 1:49, but Snowy's curse changed all that. Personally i'll be surprised if you can beat my Sandown time and I'm prepared to lay the slab on the line if you can get it, because only god and I know how hard we had to work to get that time. I honestly can't remember how many laps I did in the 1:21's, but it was a good day and I think there was more than one. After checking the SAU Championship it was actually a 1:21.3 that you need to beat. Plus the previous Maseratti Sandown day I did a 1:21.5, so it wasn't a fluke. How did this turn into a lap times thread?
  17. I got 1:21.1 @ Sandown, 1:35.5 @ Winton and 1:50.1 at PI with the stock engine and car as above. I'm finding that the power I have now hasn't made as big a difference to my lap times as I would have hoped. But it took a good 4-5 track days to get those times down originally in stock GTR and feel 110% comfortable with the car as soon as I stepped in, so with a few more under my belt I feel I will be able to go close to the limit again with the extra power. So yes agree again. GTR FTW. I'd also like to add that the most important mod on an RB20 seems to be an external gate, because at least then you can sound like the fastest car in the field. This is the first place to spent your money...
  18. Mine was!! - 248rwkw stock GTR with stock turbo's (0.95bar), slotted std disks, RE55's, Tein Flex with Eibac springs and whiteline bushes. Surely about the same $$ you spent on mods?? No? But faster..... Don't underestimate a stock GTR for reliability and decent speed. I hammered mine as hard as I could for a good 3 years before I decided I would change the turbo's in case they failed (Not because they failed), and then I had a tuning issue that caused ping and ultimatly a hairline crack in a piston. But stock GTR's can be relaible track cars, as long as you keep the oil and water temps low and look after them and don't do stupid mods or visit stupid workshops. Basically I agree with everything else you have said thou. For this guy my advise would be get out there and have some fun in you RB20, maybe even do a few sensible mods. But don't waste money. If it does start to get boring and you want to pump some decent coin into a car and get your lap times right down, then go buy a GTR. But be warned, Track GTR = Money pit.
  19. I'm in.
  20. I vote Nov 08 - I should have some coin by then aftre Dutton in May.
  21. That was an absolute ball. I could drive around Morewell all day. I demand laps. Why did I not weld the diff in the gemini earlier?
  22. I knew I should have run for Pres...
  23. It's me. Newton is a hack. Yeah that's why I wanted to lock the gem diff before this. Without it it's too hard to control a slide. Forgot to reply to your msg too - I was putting the diff in at lunch time, just got to tighten the bearing retainers back up and it's good to go. So got it all welded up with the mig. It's a solid molten mess!
  24. I'm going to be towing the Gem down. But hopefully I shouldn't slow you people down too much as it's mostly freeway. In the mean time here is a little something to keep you interested.
